By The Wood Campsite is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, 8 miles south-west of Shrewsbury.
Open from march to November You will have lots of space to choose your pitch along our blossoming young wood.
Supported by the Woodland Trust, we planted 1500 trees in 2007, including oak, silverbirch, ash, cherry and beech. Although still very young, the wood is lovely to walk through and spot our various wildlife visitors.
We also have a woodpecker that can often be heard in the adjoining mature wood, but you'll be lucky to spot him (we've been trying for years)!
By The Wood is nestled between Church Pulverbatch and Wrentnall on the Shropshire Way and Marches Way walks. An ideal location if you enjoy exploring local country walks and bird watching, or sitting back and unwinding in the peaceful countryside surrounded by wildlife.
Maybe you'll be inspired to paint, or write novels and poems as did our local author Mary Webb! If you prefer to be out and about though, theres lots to keep you entertained! More information can be found in our local attractions section.
