Barrow Campsite Nairn is a peaceful family run site on a working farm ideally situated between Nairn and Inverness, with stunning countryside views. Choose from spacious hardstanding and grass pitches with comfortable and clean facilities. There are also two pods for those wanting a little something extra. A great base to explore the Highlands and at the start of some truly amazing routes like the North Coast 500.
Warmer weathers your best chance of firing up the barbecue at our communal bothy if youre keen on cooking over coals.
Waterside walks with the pooch appeal? Potter around the pond at this dog-friendly park or roam beside the river; you could also fish from the water (just make sure to pick up a permit at reception). Once youve had enough of angling, trot back in time by exploring the Bronze Age barrow on site, the Hangman`s Cairn.
Campers with tents have the option of one of the 17 spacious grass pitches without electric. For tourers, they can choose between one of the nine grass pitches or 32 hardstanding pitches, each with 10 amp electric hook up and access to a shared fresh water tap. Within the hard standing are 15 fully serviced SUPER pitches. All with grey waste drainage, 16 amp electric hook up and shared fresh water tap.
Each pitch takes up to six people and the hardstanding pitches measure 12m x 7m. The facilities are modern, comfortable and spotlessly clean.
There are also a number of non electric hardstanding pitches for campervans only, with roof tents allowed. Each one sleeps a maximum of four and measures 7m x 10m.
For those not wanting the hassle of bringing their own accommodation, opt for one of the three pods each sleeping up to two people in a comfy double bed. Bedding is not provided but can be rented for your stay.
With a cosy interior, each one has a small kitchen unit with a sink, kettle and toaster and a dining table for two. Outside you`ll have your own patio with seating, great for dining in the summer evenings.
The site is also a great base to explore the Highlands with plenty of sights to visit in the local area, set at the start of famous touring trail including the North Coast 500, Malt Whisky Trail and the Highland Tourist Route.
A maximum of three dogs are allowed per camping and touring pitch just please keep them on the lead. No dogs in the pods.

The easiest is to enter our postcode into your navigation system (IV12 5NY). Please note that the navigation system will not direct you exactly to our Campsite. When you are almost there, look out for the Campsite Sign. We are 200 meters east of the postcode. The driveway to the Campsite comes off the B9091.
From Inverness: Turn right off the A96 towards Cawdor and Cawdor Castle. After 1 mile, when you arrive in the tiny village of Clephanton, turn left onto the B9091. Follow this road for 2.5 miles until you see the Campsite sign on your right-hand side.
From Nairn: After 1 mile, turn left off the A96 at Delnies Caravan park. Follow the road until you come to a t-crossing. Go right (kind of straight ahead) and follow the road along to the right. You will see the Campsite entrance on your left side after 1 mile.
Please note that it is not advisable to follow your navigation system by going through the high street of Nairn. Once you go under the railway bridge, it is a very sharp and narrow turn onto the B9091. Car, caravan combin
