Clachtoll Beach Campsite is a quiet family run touring caravan and camping site in Sutherland, in the North West of Scotland, 5 miles North of the village of Lochinver.
We are a quiet award winning family run touring caravan and camping site in Sutherland, in the North West of Scotland situated in front of the award winning picture perfect shallow and safe beach made of golden sands with wooden walkways through the dunes to the safe shallow waters below. Along with the geological wonder of Split Rock it is a truly stunning location.
The beach is one of a select few that sits on the award winning snorkel trail hosted by the Scottish Wildlife Trusts with a clarity of water that has to be experienced to be believed.
We also are situated sit on the whale and dolphin trail for Scotland as well as sitting directly on the North Coast 500 route.
Our level campsite covers an area of approximately 2.5 acres and is entirely grass. We are very, very dog and pet friendly.
We have a mixture of free draining serviced (water and electric at your pitch) and unserviced pitches all laid to grass or astro turf pitches which help to to keep your feet and tent/camper/caravan clean as well.
We accept touring caravans, campervans, motorhomes, tents, trailer tents, car campers, backpackers etc.
The serviced pitches mainly have views to the sea and the unserviced ones to the hills that surround us.
Toilet and shower facilities - are free and hot all the time! and include a disabled and a family room with baby changing facilities (including nappies, wipes etc) all of which are free.
In the ladies toilets there is a hair drier and GHD curling tongs (just in case you feel the need!)
We also have hot and cold outside showers for you to wash sand off yourselves and pets.
In this shower area you will find the free use of kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, wetsuits, buoyancy aids, children`s beach games and a nightly firepit
We have dishwashing facilities with free washing up liquid and cleaning products (just in case you`ve forgotten yours!) Laundry with new washers and driers
We also provide freezer and fridge facilities, secure media charging lockers, again all free.
For everyone there is an undercover BBQ area with seating where we have an open fire most nights to sit and reminisce about your days activities and also a kitchen area with microwaves, toaster and kettles to let you get a hot drink on the go quickly. There is also a vending machine with coffee, tea, soup etc.
There is a great shop called "Flossies" (the little blue shop) just outside of the campsite entrance selling all the vitals you may need as well as delicious snacks. We have a small shop that sells the freshest of eggs and cakes (all home made) and a small selection of confectionary, juice, ice cream, milk and some other campsite essentials
We do have free Wi-Fi but it isn`t the best to be honest.
To avoid disappointment we now take bookings for our busy times
Nearby Attractions
It is a perfect area for walking, fishing, beach days and a great base to explore the north, south and east of Scotland and within an hour you can be on a ferry to Lewis and Harris.

Take the A837 road towards Lochinver and just before entering the village turn off on the B869 to Clachtoll.
Drive for approximately 6 miles until you reach Clachtoll, as you descend down the hill towards the sea you will have a view of the bay and the campsite.
Follow the signposts to the campsite.
