Description
Pitches: 30
Opening Dates next year: 14/04/2025 to 14/09/2025
The campsite is small, quiet and friendly with fabulous views of unspoiled countryside in every direction.
This is "CAMPING AS IT USED TO BE!", so pitches are exceptionally spacious, set around the edges of a large field with bags of room between you and the next tent. Choose the pitch and view you like best when you arrive.
SILVER AWARD FOR GREEN TOURISM - a responsible and eco-friendly campsite.
NEW FACILITIES - new top notch shower rooms and washing up area. Modern toilets in individual washrooms. All you need for comfortable camping and designed for sustainability.
GLAMPING - in a separate field is a BEAUTIFUL YURT and a LOVELY BELL TENT - each with its own private camp kitchen, loo and garden with campfire BBQ, picnic table, comfy double hammock and fabulous views.
Each camping pitch has a firepit. Good dry logs are always available and come with free kindling. Pack your marshmallows & prepare to relax in peace and quiet! This is a Dark Sky Friendly business and the dark night skies are wonderful for stargazing from your campfire.
10 minutes walk across the fields or along country lanes are two welcoming village pubs, the Kings Head and the Black Swan. Both have riverside gardens, serve excellent food & real ales, and are dog friendly.
There are several circular walks direct from the campsite through varied and beautiful countryside, including pretty fields and old farms, 2 nature reserves, and across a spectacular disused railway viaduct. Out on the Howgill Fells there are only sheep and ponies to keep you company. For inspiration, try the campsite`s little booklet with maps and walk descriptions "Nine Great Walks from Low Greenside Farm" (£3, proceeds to charity).
Up to date visitor info is available on the website - walking, places to eat and drink, market towns and villages, visitor attractions, and local events. Or simply sit by your tent watching the sheep and waiting for the cows to come home before lighting your evening fire....
Low Greenside is central to the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Eden Valley and North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and all are all handy for days out.
