Sleningford Watermill is a family friendly 20-acre campsite set beside the River Ure. We have been welcoming caravans, campers and families to this beautiful part of Yorkshire for over forty-five years. A fantastic destination for nature lovers, our park is a haven for wildlife and guests can be sure to see many native animals and plants during their stay. We are open for the 2024 season from the 29th March until the 31st October.
Sleningford Watermill is proud to be an independent campsite; we offer:
- Hard standing pitches with electric hook ups
- Grass pitches with and without electric hook ups
- A furnished, self-catering flat which sleeps up to four (sorry, no pets)
- Our highly rated facilities include:
- Two free to use shower and toilet blocks, one with disabled access, cleaned up to six times a day
- A well-equipped laundry room with washing machine and tumble drier
- Licensed on-site shop selling a good range of essentials
To make your stay as enjoyable as possible, we also provide:
- An information room with leaflets, guides, maps, menus and walks
- Security entrance gates (closed from 11.00pm - 6.00am during the season)
- A free ice pack freezing facility
- Milk fridge
- Covered washing up sinks
- BBQ stands to borrow
- Book Exchange service
- Elsen points for waste disposal
- Recycling facilities
The parks awards include the David Bellamy Conservation Gold Award, Tripadvisors Certificate of Excellence and a four Pennants AA rating.

PLEASE NOTE:
We do not hire out any kayaks/canoes/boats or any associated equipment.
Please feel free to bring your own though, river access is free if youre camping with us.

Lightwater Valley Theme Park and Retail Outlet is approximately a mile away.
For drinking and eating out within walking distance, there is The Bull and The Bruce Arms at West Tanfield.
There are plenty of attractions and facilities in (or near) Ripon (which is 5 miles away) and Masham (5 miles away). Both Ripon and Masham have market days.
Ripon, 5 miles away boasts a number of cafes, restaurants and takeaways including Chinese, Italian and Indian. The nearest fish and chip shop is in Masham or Ripon.
