Our relaxed and friendly, family-run campsite Penhale is set on a working organic farm covering 400 lush acres in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
It`s the closest caravan and camping park to the ancient fishing village of Fowey, on the Fowey side of the river.
For a traditional seaside escape or a relaxed weekend holiday in Cornwall, Penhale is the perfect place to stay. Everywhere on the site enjoys spectacular countryside and sea views across St Austell Bay, and the beautiful surrounding countryside inspired many of Daphne Du Maurier`s world famous novels.
We provide self-catering accommodation in our two and three bed caravan holiday homes as well as generous-sized, level electric hook-up pitches and a clean, modern shower block for campers and tourers.
Whether you`re in a large motorhome or a small campervan, tent or caravan, our serviced pitches give you plenty of space to spread out and make yourselves at home. The pitches are flat grass terraces, with electric hook-up, water tap and Wi-Fi included in the price, and are a generous size - minimum 10 metre x 10 metre - so are large enough to fit any motorhome.
Standard camping pitches give you the choice of two camping fields, one small and one large, where you can pick your favourite spot to . We just ask that you leave a minimum of six metres between your tent and other guests. There is no electric hook-up for standard camping but free Wi-Fi
Both types of pitch enjoy sea views out across St Austell Bay, and as a working organic beef farm the campsite is set within 400 acres of beautiful rolling farmland.
To make your stay as comfortable as possible, our shower block is open 24/7 and includes free hot showers, toilets and sinks plus pot-wash area, chemical toilet. A small laundry room with two washing machines and two tumble driers, sinks for hand washing with free hot water, iron and ironing board
At reception you will find information about the local area, and were always happy to help with any questions.
Our small shop sells local eggs, sausages and bacon from the nearby award-winning butchers, bread and milk, disposable BBQs, camping items including calor gas bottles, and other essentials.
Convenience stores can be found in Fowey and Par (1.5 miles) with larger supermarkets such as Tesco and Aldi are a short drive away in St Austell (5 miles). There is a petrol station and garage close to the campsite (half a mile).
There is also a free games room, a small library, and free wi-fi across the campsite. A recharging facility for phones, cameras, laptops - for a small donation to the RNLI
The nearest beach, Polkerris, is only one mile away. Take a pleasant walk along the Saints Way to this beautiful sandy cove, with a popular water sports centre, historic pub and quality restaurant all overlooking the beach.
Walk about a mile in the opposite direction and you will reach Fowey, where you can enjoy wandering quaint cobbled streets, sample a traditional cream tea, and explore a range of quirky independent and luxury brand shops, bars and waterside restaurants.
