How Stean Gorge Camping Park is a great place for family and friend getaways. Enjoy the nature and beauty that comes with camping in Yorkshire. The camp site is in one of England's 5 Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty - Nidderdale, Yorkshire Dales.
Our camping park is the perfect base for camping and exploring the Yorkshire Dales. You can find breath-taking scenery, outdoor activities, wildlife watching, heritage and culture, fabulous food and shopping all a stones-throw from our camping site. Although there are a few campsites in Yorkshire none of them are able to offer the combination of a gorgeous, picturesque view of the Dales with our fantastic selection of outdoor activities and adventures.
New for 2022! LODGES WITH HOT TUBS Our 10 bed wooden rustic lodges provide a true getaway and each one has a mini kitchen area with fridge, cutlery, crockery, kettle with tea and coffee, sofa, table and chairs, indoor log burner and a bbq - so get those sausages sizzling! Lodge facilities: • Hot tubs are available with our 10 bed wooden lodges - a great way to relax with friends. • On-site glass floored cafe cantilevered over the gorge - perfect for hearty breakfasts and lunches. • Indoor log burner in every lodge with a complimentary bag of logs + fire lighters to get you started. • A BBQ and personal fire pit (bags of logs and firelighters are available to purchase in our onsite shop) • Heating & electric charging points (mainly 12v USB) • Covered veranda with comfortable wooden benches
PLENTY OF SPACE We also offer plenty of space in the camp site area for playing games on the grassy slopes and having fun. At night, the moon and stars are your only light so please bring a torch!
FACILITIES BLOCK The Facilities Block, now with underfloor heating, contains toilets (5 x male and 5 x female) and hot family sized showers with hair dryers in each male and female areas.
ONSITE FACILITIES - Licensed Glass Floor Cafe (9am - 5pm, Last food orders 4.00pm) - Free Wireless Internet (WI-FI) - Picnic Benches Outside - Fire Pits on each pitch available - Onsite Shop - which sells basic camping provisions including wood/kindling - Washing Up Area with 3 large sinks - How Stean Gorge Visitor Attraction (Quality Assured Visitor Attraction) - Free car and minibus parking - Outdoor Activity Centre - choose from a host of instructor-led outdoor adventure activities such gorge walking, via ferrata high wire course (1 of only 3 in UK)and abseiling We do not have any electrical hook-ups on this camping site
GLASS FLOOR CAFE OVERLOOKING THE GORGE Fresh, home-made Yorkshire fare is served within the cafe. The summer opening hours for the cafe is 9am till 6pm week days. Last orders for food are taken at 5 oclock however, we can take groups of 10 people or over for early evening meals if booked in advance.
HOW STEAN GORGE - VISITOR ATTRACTION Wander along the footpaths, negotiate bridges and venture through caves. As you make your way along the spectacular steep-sided gorge, water rushes over large rocks, constantly carving them into fantastic shapes. Fossils from a bygone age are there for you to discover and wildlife is in abundance throughout the seasons.

Nearby Attractions
Studfold Fairy Trail is just a short walk down the lane. There are also Lofthouse and Middlesmoor villages in walking distance which have pubs and lots of footpaths leading you round this picturesque part of the Yorkshire Dales. The small market town of Pateley Bridge is just 11 miles down the scenic road which passing Gouthwaite Reservoir - a favoured spot for bird watching. The area is well serviced with footpaths and open access land exists on the nearby moors.T he camp site is at the head of beautiful Upper Nidderdale which is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
