Whitesands Camping is the only campsite next to the wonderful Whitesands Beach and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path.
Campers have stayed with us since the 1930s. We operate a relaxed and friendly approach. There is a beach vibe and no fuss while you`re relaxing.
We don`t have a booking system, or advanced payment; you can stay when you want for as long as you want (most stay longer). Just turn up, select your pitch and report in to the site office to purchase shower tokens and pay for your stay. Please don`t email or ask to book pitches; in peak season, look at the updates on the Tariff page of our website to see how busy we are.
On the main site, we have 30 pitches for tents, trailer tents, camper vans (VW T5/6) and smaller sized motorhomes (no RVs or caravans).
A new shower block opened in August 2020 with: 5 electric hot showers (tokens), outside cold water shower, 6 toilets, an outside sink for washing-up, electric hook-ups on the main site ("first come first served", they cannot be booked in advance), and water taps dotted about the place.
In 2024 Whitesands Camping was awarded "Best Beachside Campsite, Pembrokeshire" by Best of British Getaways; and Whitesands was selected by The Times as one of top 50 UK beaches 2023. In July 2021 the site was recommended by Country Walking Magazine among its list of 18 "Pitch Perfect" campsites in the UK.
In 2014, this site came top of the Weather Channels Ten Coolest Campsites in Britain: "Whitesands Beach Camp Site is a low-key, no-fuss spot with the best views around and effortless access to the beach. Nights are the real highlight; as the beach empties, campers at Whitesands more or less have their own private patch of sand - perfect for games and BBQs as the sun fades and the moon gradually illuminates the sea".

Couple of miles (20 minutes walk) from St Davids (Coaster bus runs half-hourly from beach car park in the summer, ride takes 5 minutes).
In the city of St Davids (population less than 2000) you can visit the Cathedral and Bishops Palace, enjoy a meal in one of the handful of pubs or restaurants, or collect the essentials you may need on site.
Take the A48 to Carmarthen, followed by the A40 to Haverfordwest and the A487 to St Davids. From St Davids, follow signs for Whitesands(B4583, and drive all the way down to the beach - a distance of 2 miles. Look to your right just before the beach car park.
