If you want a peaceful, relaxing and truly back to nature getaway then look no further than Howgill Lodge. Set amongst the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales and part of the Duke of Devonshires Chatsworth Estate, Howgill is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Wharfedale, it is an idyllic setting for your Yorkshire Dales holiday. Imagine waking up to nothing but the sound of birdsong, gazing out at the amazing views across the hills.
Beautifully terraced to take advantage of the stunning views it is surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK. The largely unspoilt landscape is dotted here and there with traditional stone barns typical of the area and wandering through the nearby, picturesque towns and villages you will get a real taste of Yorkshire small town life.
We offer electric and non electric pitches and can accommodate tents, motorhomes and caravans. The site has a central amenity block with hot showers, covered wash up area, washing machine and tumble dryer. Several smaller toilet and shower facilities are located around the site.
If you are looking for a more luxurious stay, our delightful timber lodges are equipped with everything you need for a stress free break. Sleeping up to 6 with 2 bedrooms, fully fitted kitchen and spacious open plan living dining area, they feature a log burner, smart TV and wifi and including private wood fired hot tub, fire pit with built in pizza oven and picnic table Situated at the top of the site, they boast the most incredible far reaching views.
There is plenty of space for children to play including a large woodland area where they can explore. In the evening what could be better than a campfire for toasting marshmallows? Our popular fire pits are available to hire at reception and come complete with logs and kindling.
New for 2021 are our 3 adorable alpacas, Audrey, Dorothy and Ethel who you will find happily grazing in the field next to the campsite.
Whatever you are looking for, whether its family fun, adventure, walking, cycling or just relaxing in the sunshine, Howgill Lodge offers the perfect destination. Here you can expect stunning scenery and a traditional warm Yorkshire family welcome.
