The camping field at Parkgate Farm has one of the best outlooks in the Lake District, it is a fairly level site suitable for camping, caravans and motorhomes.
This site offers a mix of accommodation and camping so there is something for everyone on all budgets.
We have three luxury glamping cabins, five holiday caravans and a cosy holiday cottage available to rent, which are nestled in the valley looking up at the Wasdale and Eskdale fells.
From April to October our campsite is open which includes some electric pitches and a camping pod. Parkgate Farm offers a choice of nine large camping pitches including five with electric hook-up, and use of all amenities including family shower rooms, separate toilets, washing-up area, plus a washing machine.
Our brand new toilet/shower block has spacious family showers and separate toilets. We also have a wash up area and a washing machine for guests to use.
There is plenty of room for the kids to play and lots to do in the local area. We look forward to welcoming you to our farm.
There are lots of dog friendly walks immediately around Parkgate woods and they can enjoy a good run along the beach too
The accommodation is well kitted out with most modcons, but if there is anything you can`t find we probably get hold of it for you. The holiday accommodation all has its own private facilities, kitchens, heating and TVs.
The caravans sleep 4 or 6 people depending on which one you choose. The cottage sleeps 6 and each cabin sleeps 5. All bedding and bed linen is provided but please bring your own towels.
This is a quiet site, far from the madding crowd, designed to accommodate families and small groups who share our love of nature and the outdoors. Let it be your base camp for the Lake District.
Nearby Attractions
The accommodation is surrounded by fields and woodland, perfect for exploring, playing and den building or simply sitting and observing the rich wildlife that surrounds us. Low level walks and the high fells are all accessible from our doorstep as well as an array of interlinking bridleways for mountain biking and horse riding.
The area has plenty for all ages, wonderful walks right from the farm, an abundance of wildlife to view, the La`al ratty narrow guage railway has a station only half a mile away and the magestic Muncaster Castle and Owlery is within walking distance.
There is a wide selection of pubs in the area for food & drink. Beach nearby

Owner Directions
From the south J36 M6 head for the western peninsular
A590 to broughton turn right onto the A5092 then follow the A595 to Holmrook turn right to Eskdale 50m before garage 2 miles right at the junction 800m on left. From the north J44 M6 carlise bypass to cockermouth join A66 to whitehaven joining A595 till you get to holmrook the turn left just beyond the garage, travel 2 miles then turn right and the junction and it is on your left after 800m.
