Llyn Rhys Campsite is run by Christine and Louis Hughes on our family farm, near to the centre of Llandegla.
In an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty the campsite is conveniently situated alongside the A5104, two minutes from Llandegla Forest Mountain Bike Centre and also five minutes from the picturesque Horseshoe Pass.
An ideal base for walks of varying difficulties,we have the Clwydian Way and Offa`s Dyke path passing through our land. We can help you plan your walk.
The campsite is family-based, where we like the noise to be kept low after 10 pm and silence after midnight. This is to consider the families with small children and also the walkers and bikers who need their sleep after a gruelling day of exercise.
There is a choice of 2 flat fields or two lawned areas and also hard standing for caravans and cars should the grassed areas be too wet.
We have high quality showers and toilets, you don`t have to pay for a shower, it`s inclusive of the price.
There are three restaurants, offering an excellent welcome and good food, and within walking distance.
Our village shop has recently reopened and is operating as a community shop complete with a cafe!
Llyn Rhys Campite is the ideal base for mountain bikers and walkers being 5 minutes from the Coed Llandegla Forest Mountain Bike Centre and we have the Offas Dyke Path passing through our farm where you can follow the stream from the campsite directly onto the path.
Nearby Attractions
The main attraction of the area is the Llandegla Forest Mountain Bike Centre, rated one of the best in the country. Set in 1600 acres of forest, as can be seen from the photos, it offers routes of varying degrees to suit all abilities. You can even have lessons on how to mountain bike ride too.
Llandegla has 3 fisheries and a clay pigeon shooting range.Just recently opened is a new Laser Combat Centre and 8 miles away is the Plas Power Adventure Centre offers excellent climbing walls and more.
Our local towns Llangollen, Ruthin, Wrexham, Mold are all within a 10 mile radius.
Bala and Chester are 20 miles away and you can reach the coast and Snowdonia within 45 mins. Llangollen and Bala offer excellent outdoor activities including sailing, kayaking, white water rafting and climbing and much more.
