From Pwllheli follow signs to Abersoch. In Llanbedrog turn right after petrol station up the hill towards Aberdaron B4413 approx 10 miles. After Aberdaron sign the road bears left towards the village but you need to take the right turn towards Uwchmynydd rather than follow the road to the left! Go past a farm on the left (Bodernabwy)up hill take the right turn to whistling sands, follow this road passing another farm Gwythrian on the left until you reach a sharp left bend, on this bend there is a small right turn, take this road and we are on the left after passing Ty Isaf on the right.

Aberdaron is a small fishing village with glorious beaches, coastal walks, fishing and watersports. Whistling sands is a fantastic beach for families with it`s golden sands and horseshoe shaped cove. It`s great for surfing and skimming! They also have a fantastic cafe on the beach. Bardsey Island can be seen from the top of Mynydd Mawr. There are scenic walks on this route with plenty of picninc spots along the way. Boat trips to Bardsey from Porth Meudwy are available depending on weather!
The market town of Pwllheli (held every Wednesday and Sunday)is about 25 minutes drive away. Abersoch is 20 minutes away with it`s fabulous beaches with an abundance of watersports, designer beachwear shops, pubs etc.
