From the Isle of Skye take the Uig to Tarbert ferry. From Tarbert take the A859 South after 11 miles you will cross a long sweeping causeway which takes you into the village of Seilebost. The Old School is signposted on your right. From The Uists take the Berneray to Leverburgh ferry. From Pier Road in Leverburgh turn left passing through the village with the local shop An Clachan on your left. Seilebost is 11 miles North of Leverburgh along the A859 and the West Harris Trust Campervan site at the Old School is signposted on your left.

Talla na Mara has spectacular views across the sound of Taransay and along Niseaboist Beach to Macleod's standing stone. Two miles away in a small loom shed in Luskentyre Donald John Mackay MBE weaves the world famous Harris Tweed. Further along this single track road you come to the glorious expanse of Luskentyre Beach. This golden shell sand beach is the perfect place for beachcombing with the children or a romantic stroll.
Tarbert is the main village on the Isle of Harris. Here you will find the ferry terminal for visitors to and from the Isle of Skye. There are shops, cafes and bars. Tarbert is also home to the Isle of Harris Distillery, here you can buy some Isle of Harris gin
