Take the A64 from York to Scarborough, taking the A169 to Pickering. Travel for 3 miles bearing right to Thorton le Dale. Follow the signs to Great Yorkshire Forest. At the Toll point advise the attendant you are staying at High Rigg Farm and the toll fee will be waived. Follow the forest drive for about 1 1/2 miles and you will find the Visitor Centre on your left hand side. A little further along is Go-Ape and approximately 1/2 mile further a track leads up to your right with a sign at the bottom saying `High Rigg Farm` We are about a mile up that track. SAT NAV use is not recommended.

Close at hand is the Forest visitor centre and also Go Ape, the renowned tree-top adventure.
The North York Moors Railway provides a regular service running up from the market town of Pickering through Heartbeat country to Grosmont and Whitby. Famingo Land theme park and zoo are also a short drive away.
The seaside towns of Scarborough and Whitby are just a little further away as is the historic walled city of York.
