Directions
From the A59 at Bolton Abbey Roundabout, take the B6160, signposted Burnsall Continue through Bolton Abbey under the arch and about three miles on, you will reach Barden. Barden Tower, an old ruin is on your right. Turn right now signposted Appletreewick, down over the bridge and one mile on, just on the bend by the phone box, turn right onto Howgill Lane then carry on past the brownie barn and we are next on the left.
Nearby Attractions
Although Howgill is set in beautiful, unspoilt countryside, there is no shortage of things to do! Bolton Abbey, Embsay Steam Railway, Skipton Castle, Barden Bridge, Aysgarth Falls, Stump Cross Caverns, and Ripley Castle are all nearby. It is the perfect base for exploring the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales. There is something for everyone, whether its a relaxing stroll along the river to the village of Appletreewick and one of their pubs or climbing to the top of the famous Simons seat. Head to the Valley of Desolation where you can find two stunning waterfalls, not to mention some incredible scenery. Cycling enthusiasts will be pleased to hear that we are close to the Tour de France and Tour de Yorkshire cycling routes, as well as being within easy reach of miles of off road cycling. Don't miss the Brownie Barn, which is right next door, selling delicious freshly baked brownies
