If coming from the M1 and the east go via Hathersage where the A625 changes to the A6187 & follow signs to Hope. 3½ miles later look out for Travellers Rest pub RH side of road. We are 500 meters after this (100 meters AFTER the RH turning for Hope village station) on the LHS of the road. Signs for Laneside are on the RHS directing you LEFT. Coming from west, do NOT come through Castleton, approach via Chapel A623 and Bradwell up to junction with A6187 which you will join at a T junction opposite The Travellers Rest. "The Peak District" is loosely used. We're at the centre of The Peak Conservation Area - as defined on O.S. Maps - with the best walking. We are on the valley floor, surrounded by hills. Castleton, with its caverns and 11th Century castle, is two miles away - or a pleasant half-hour riverside walk. Around us are the nicest / most historical towns & villages in Derbyshire - Hathersage, with Swimming Pool and Tennis Courts is a 5 minute drive, Chatsworth and Historic Eyam are 15 minutes away whilst Bakewell and Buxton are 20 - 25 minutes. Above all, is the myriad footpaths straight from the Park.
