The fastest route from the North starting at Bordeaux:
Bordeaux - Bayonne - San Sebastian (E) - Vittoria Gasteiz- Burgos- Salamanca - Caceres-via the EX100 to Badajoz- then leave the motorway at Evora (P) and via the IP2 towards Beja . Continue to follow the IP2 towards Ourique, continue at Ourique until the end of this road and then turn left onto IC1 towards Faro / Algarve after approx. 10km, 600m past the exit Castro da Cola at km marker 679.4 turn right after 50m and after 300m you will see the campsite on the left.
Coming from the south, follow the IC1 to km 679, then turn at the exit Castro da Cola and then as described above.
If you continue to follow the motorway from Spain, take the A2 (toll road) towards Algarve and leave the road at exit 12 (Ourique), then turn left onto the IP2 towards Ourique at the end on the left and continue as above.
From Bordeau the distance is about 1200 km
Nearby Attractions
Our land is bordered by the river Mira (fishing, swimming and canoeing). Approximately 3 kilometres away is the Sta. Clara reservoir, one of the biggest in Portugal.
You can find the archaeological trail taking in a Roman ruin (700bc). The area is a walkers paradise. For example follow the river Mira to the reservoir (5km). The small village of Fernao Vaz is within walking distance (1km) and the town of Ourique is 10 km away.
65km to the West will bring you to the Costa Dourada with its capricious rock formations overlooking a number of beaches. A drive of 55km to the South will bring you to Albufeira in the middle of the Algarve. The Serra de Monchique is a 20 minute drive to the Southwest.
The Westcoast takes 60 minutes. From Serro da Bica you can experience the south of Portugal the best! In short: It is nice being at Serro da Bica.
