Lovely camp site, with a great dog walk.
No shop on site, a better walk round of the shower block, to indicate when you place the money in the shower payment box the shower will start straight away! No signs for that!
However the facilities in the wash block were very clean.

A splendid adult only campsite!
Immaculately kept,
Quiet rural location near Pickering.
Super on-site walk around the farm fields and along a lovely chalk stream. Wildlife abounds.
We are already planning our next visit; NY Moors Steam Railway tickets are valid for a year!

Lovely quiet site. Large level pitches.
Everywhere on the site was spotless.
Lovely well maintained lawn area in the middle with nice trees planted.
Lovely little walk down around the stream. Lots of wildlife.

Just returned after 16 nights at Westgate Carr, what a fantastic site, adults only, site is pristine, facilities perfect!
Your hosts Dave and Karen are fantastic people, on hand to answer any questions you may have and love to pass the time of day with you!
Pitches are huge and level, fully serviced, no fetching water here! Fresh eggs from the farm, delicious!
ife got her horsey fix, cuddles from the horses!
Facilities are spotless and a good wash up area! Fantastic dog walk, what’s not to like?
We will return a third time, got to be one of the best sites we’ve been on!

Our first attempt at winter camping was a great success. Karen and Dave were excellent hosts, Dave in particular helped with a couple of issues (my fault!) making our visit a very good one.
The pitches were hardstanding which was essential for winter touring, the ground was initially frozen but did get muddy later. Water pipes to the pitches were frozen at first, but fresh water was still available. The drains on our pitch were over 5m from the waste on the caravan, so bear this in mind.
The facilities were very clean and adequate for the size of the site.
The dog walk was fantastic, the stretch by the beck was very interesting and we saw many different birds, including barn owl and snowy egret, plus a hare, rabbits, and on the road in, roe deer. Overall, a wildlife spotters heaven.
We really enjoyed our winter camp, the caravan was lovely and warm, well worth the cost of electricity, and would recommend everyone try it, Westgate Carr would be a great venue for it.

The facilities at the site are very good indeed.
Each pitch is hard standing and there is a range of sizes for everyone's different needs.
The site now operates a smart card system for electricity which is great as you pay for what you use.
The toilet/shower block was warm and spotless.
There is also an information hut with dvds books and info leaflets for the area.
As the road outside only extends just past the site it's very quiet as no passing traffic.
It's also a long safe if very dark (take a torch) walk to Pickering which is why we picked the site.

This is probably the nicest campsite my Wife and I have enjoyed in the 3 years of caravanning.
This may not suit everyone but the fact that it's quiet, dark skies, large fully serviced pitches, adults only makes it 100% perfect for us.
If you're looking for on site entertainment and shop etc then this is not available but peace and tranquillity is! As are beautiful sunsets.
