We showed up without booking and the owner was very helpful and friendly, explained everything. Unlike other sites the electrical hooker ups were available for all the cars.

Very clean facilities

Very informal approach to customer service.

I felt very comfortable.

The camp is right by the restaurants and also the trails.

Beautiful harbour view.

This a a great basic campsite in a stunning location. Beautiful bay and we were lucky with nice weather. Glad we had two nights.

Facilities kept clean by lady running site.

Only small campsite and only one shower, two toilets and two basins in ladies.

Large washing up room with kettle and toaster for those that need them.

Quiet and beautiful.

Hope to be back some day.

Lovely site in a great position.

Very friendly hosts and facilities were lovely and clean.

If travelling with a dog there is not many dog friendly places to eat in the village.

Would definitely visit this site again when passing

Lovely location. Friendly welcome. Could choose our pitch.

Toilet and shower adequate.

Quiet at night

No electric hook up but we knew this and adapted.

A sink for washing pots would be appreciated.

We will happily stay there again.

Tucked away after coming round a little headland - you think there’s nothing there but then it suddenly appears!

No electric hookup but they are planning to put them in next year. Very small, facilities basic but adequate and clean. Only one shower for each sex.

No specific washing up area but hot taps in bathrooms had very hot water and ran for a long time so was very easy to fill washing up bowl with water from the basins.

Cash payment only

Absolutely stunning location, terrible facilities, overpriced. Friendly owners, but only 1 toilet for the gents (1 out of order), and 1/2 toilet roll for 20 people?Had to get in the (1) s hower early to get any hot water. No dishwashing faciities, and forget all about wifi or even a phone signal.

One shop in the village, which is fine.

The star, though, which makes all this go away, is the fantastic location just off the beach with amazing views of the bays and lovely walks along the coast.

You can put up with the draughty, cold wash house for that.

We were recommended this site by a couple doing the nc500 the opposite direction to ourselves, on arrival I was not impressed but the better half insisted we stay. So glad she did. Found a level pitch to the left by a tap.

Great view over the beach and only one other couple on site.

We use our own facilities so cannot comment on toilet/ shower.

Had a lovely meal in a hotel/bar a mile up the road, good shop for supplies half mile up the road plus a well priced gift shop. Lots of nice scenic walks and a nice beach opposite with benches and stone firepits.

The other couple staying at the site ( Peter & Heather) invited us over to the beach for a fire and a few beers, brilliant evening listening to his excellent singing and guitar playing.

Loved this site and as another reviewer added you are on a adventure and should treat it as such.

Was also very low on break fluid and asked the owner if she knew of any garages nearby and even though she was busy mowing the lawn she kindly went to her house up the hill and appeared with a new bottle of break fluid.

Big thanks.

We stayed here for 2 nights having arrived from the Black Isle to climb Ben Loyal. Couldn't believe this was the tourism 'advertised' campsite at the turn off near the causeway. Half the pitches are now waterlogged and only three at the right of the entrance are level. Because there were only 2 others on the first night and 1 on the second we got a level pitch with excellent views over the beach across the sea loch. The facilities are pretty basic but functional - the main plus is piping hot water. You need to take your own loo paper. We did use the showers - no ill effects. If we hadn't needed showers after the hillwalk we'd probably have wild camped in the vicinity.

The photo of the site on the website appears to be taken in it's heyday (1970's?). And it feels a bit stuck in that period.

That said, we enjoyed the stay - the site is what it is.

No electric hook up - but not a problem with our van - but may be for others.

With a bit of TLC and focussed improvements this could be a jewel of a location on the NC500 route.

We loved this site! Beautiful location near the beach with a wonderful view. We had an excellent pitch for our tent by the toilet block (which is kept beautifully clean). Shower was good~lots of hot water. The only reason I'm giving 9 and not 10 is that there was not a washing up area~you would need to use your own bowl. Lady warden was very nice and keeps everything very tidy with lovely little islands of wildflowers dotted around the site. Very peaceful and quiet. Very fair rates.
