Very friendly staff in the pub and the landlady was most welcoming. Booking communication was extremely good. The evening food was a touch on the expensive but did actually reflect just how good it was, very tasty, good portions and well presented.
Choice of beers on the bar is also good. A very nice friendly pub and with a great mixture of locals and holiday makers.
The campsite itself enjoys a spectacular elevated view. Very well kept with the grass being devoid of lumps and bumps for tenting.
Facilities are relatively basic and with only two unisex shower facilities, this campsite is really crying out for an extension to its existing toilet / washroom facilities including just one sink for washing dishes etc.
Overall, we had a superb one night break here and would thoroughly recommend.
It was all as we had hoped to expect and intend to visit the campsite again in our 1930s MG sports cars.

Great little campsite in a lovely hilltop village with outstanding views.
Quite basic facilities but reflected in price.
Good food and beer in pub, too.

Wonderful views, quiet site, hot showers. Lots of walks around, very friendly staff and very helpful.
Pub food very good. , takeaway service helped when it was raining and not great for sitting outside with the dogs!
Hope to be back

A small site in a sloping meadow suitable for tents, motorhomes and caravans at the back of the Crown Hotel.
Far reaching views over Nidderdale and the moors. Great walking and mountain biking directly from the site which is on the Nidderdale Way.
Nearest shops are in Pateley Bridge which is approx 8 miles away.
It is a steep (25%) incline up to Middlesmoor and the last few meters are on rough track but we managed fine towing our caravan.
We arrived after a group of 48 Duke of Edinburgh students had just left and the showers and loos were unclean and untidy - however this was rectified by evening on the same day and for the remainder of our stay they were very clean and tidy. Although the building is a little drafty with stone floors, the shower cubicles appear new with free hot water. Friendly staff both in the pub and on site.
The site fee is £16 per night with an additional £10 EHU charge (price at May 2023)
The pub is traditional and serves good real ale - also does food but we didn't eat there so unable to make any comment on this.

This campsite was perfect.
On the edge of the moor behind the pub.
Fabulous views, big sky and quiet.
Meal at the Crown was really welcome after a long walk on the moors, it was a very pleasant evening.
There are plenty of walks from this site.
Make sure you have everything you need as it's a long way back down to the shops in Pately Bridge.
The facilities were basic and clean.
It was definitely worth the drive up from Pately Bridge.

Neat site in large pub field. EHU for 6 vans, 2 clean showers/toilets, one dish wash area under cover. Disposal units for normal, grey and chemical waste.
Good price considering stupid levels charged by more and more sites.
Did not have a meal, in the welcoming pub, but fair selection of real ales of good quality.
Will visit again due to the site and the wonderful walking.
Quick response to my original enquiry re vacancies.

We never normally stay as long as 4 nights anywhere, but this site was so idyllic. We were the only people on it most of the time, although it has a large field on top of a hill with great views.
2 bathrooms with sink, loo and shower. All you need!
Friendly pub with food from Wednesdays to weekend. Great value. Admittedly, its very exposed so wouldn't be great in bad weather.
There's lots of walks direct from the site as well as mountain bike trails. How Stean Gorge is well worth a visit - 30 mins walk away.
We didn't drive in 4 days.
