Couldn’t get in the parking spots near the cafe but did so further down the road. Was really busy during the day with cars and people dog walking on the mist amazing beach.
Were lucky to find a spot after the ferry got in to Barra from Eriskay.
Quietened down after 6 with only 1 other Moho on our spot. Toilets and showers open 24/7 and immaculate. Didn’t use the showers but a bit costly at £1 for 1 min. Cafe 11am to 4pm.
No road noise later. £10 in an honesty box for Moho and 2 people. Max stay 2 nights. Amazing spot for £10.
Sea was so warm went in without wetsuits.
Will definitely use again if here.

Top rate venue, everyone was very polite,
Friendly and having the cafe nearby was super.
Our boys (2&5) had lots of fun on both beaches which are as spectacular as in the photos!
Will be back

It is an almost wild camping stop - but with facilities.
The stopping places are not camp site size, and it isn't a campsite if that's what is required.
But the bays are places to stop by the cafe, and a bit further along all very close to the white sanded beach.
The facilities provided by the community - toilets etc. - are spotlessly clean and in great condition.
The cafe itself has great food, and lovely friendly people.
Would happily stay again

The location is stunning and there’s plenty of options for pitching your tent either facing sunset or sunrise.
The community owned showers and toilets are open 24/7 and kept super clean.
A contribution of £2 per tent is asked for and can be deposited in the honesty box outside.
The showers operate on £1 coins, for which you get (a long) 3 minutes.
Fully recommended.

We stayed at Vatersay Hall cafe for one night, as a quick stop over because we were on the early evening ferry into castlebay.
You can't book this place in advance, but we needn't have worried, there were plenty of spaces left.
We were met by a friendly chap who showed us where we could park up & we paid him our £10
The toilets & showers at the cafe are open 24 hours & are nice and clean (there were 2 showers & 1 toilet) there is no EHU or waste disposal.
But it's ideal for a quick one night stop like we needed.
And it is right opposite the most amazing beach!

A beautiful & peaceful place to stay, with 2 beaches a short walk either side of you, and plenty of places to walk around the island.
Contacted Helen for information about staying & had a prompt & courteous reply, met her partner Donald at the campsite & found out lots of interesting information about the Island, including the abandoned village.

We stayed one night in order to see Vatersay this is a perfect location!
There are two amazing beaches on either side of the road, from which you are sheltered by the sand dunes! Seriously as good as the Caribbean (maybe not quite so warm ;-) )
The best description is managed car parking that are looked after by the community with the benefits of clean toilet (& showers when not under covid conditions) this is a community project (which benefits the local community. How the islands work!)
They ask for a minimum donation of £5. 00 I paid £10 (& happy too!)
Will visit again given the chance!
Unfortunately didn’t get to eat in the cafe as didn’t open until midday on Sunday!

I had booked to stay for one night at Vatersay Hall Cafe. I arrived, but decided not to stay for the following reasons-
The cafe had just shut for the season, although on the website it says open all year, and says restaurant on site. I wasn’t told when I exchanged e. Mails with the person in charge.
You needed pound coins for the showers, which it doesn’t tell you, and I had no pound coins. The light in the toilet block wasn’t working. Also on the map online it looks as if the pitches overlook the beach, but in fact you can’t see it from any of the pitches as there are high sand dunes.
They only ask for donations for the pitches, but there is no EHU and you pay for the showers a pound for 3 minutes, so it is actually fairly good value
