Please note Wood Park is primarily an owner’s exclusive holiday park with holiday homes for sale. They also offer Seasonal Pitches, however there are no touring caravan, motorhome or tent pitches.
If you know that this situation has changed in the future, please could you let us know. Many thanks

Stopped here for the last week of June. Place is easy to find, and we were warmly welcomed on arrival. Slightly disconcerted when we located our pitch to find it had a small hardstanding (paving slabs) and we were a tent. We went back to reception to check and were told this was the pitch we had been allocated, so we pitched with the middle of the tent over the paving slabs and it worked OK. There was another tent behind us also on a similar hardstanding pitch, and they'd pitched off-centre with their pegs along one side stuck in the gap between the slabs.
Location wise it is next door to another site (Well Park) and near to Rumbleways site. Buses do run from in the village of New Hedges to Saundersfoot and Tenby, and always as the timetable specified, however they are not that frequent so on some days required careful planning. It took us about 25 minutes to walk down a steep hill to Tenby, and £6-£7 taxi back. It seemed quicker to walk in to Saundersfoot, but we didn't walk back from there.
The site has a lot of static caravans, predominantly laid out around a couple of good-sized grassed areas for kids to play. The touring area is a few lines of 5 pitches with mature hedges in between, good for keeping the wind out. Our pitch was very slightly sloping, but not a problem.
The bulk of the touring pitches appear to be taken up by seasonal tourers, and although the static vans were only partly in use on our Saturday arrival, the touring area was well populated. However, come Sunday night this all changed as the seasonal folk mainly disappeared. Along our row, the 3 tent pitches opposite were unused from the Monday night until the Friday, and next to us there were 3 touring caravans on our side that were empty all week until the Friday night. The whole site was very quiet from Monday to Thursday, and was filling up again on the Friday. Locals told us it only gets really busy during school holidays.
The site is well kept, the grass was cut regularly and the borders are maintained. The washrooms are cleaned regularly. It's 20p for a shower, but you get a reasonable amount of time, and as there are only 3 shower cubicles in each of the ladies and gents washrooms, I understand that this can help keep people moving through to let everyone get a chance to use them. (in the ladies 8 toilet cubicles, so plenty of room here) While we don't mind the 20p as you get a reasonable amount of time, if a site is going to charge it would be a good idea to ensure you get a reasonable amount of water. The sinks were all push-taps that went off straight away (so awkward to wash your hands) and the water gushed out, but the showers were only poor dribbles, and sometimes just lukewarm.
Washing up was also 10p - the first site we've been to where you had to pay for washing up water, but the time was plenty for our needs.
Site clubhouse - a small bar that was open on the Saturday evening we arrived, but then not open again until the following Friday. The regulars all knew this to be the case, but there was no signage, other than on the two days we saw it open a sign was in the window "Open 8pm". For more occasional guests, it would have been useful if the sign was up saying which evenings it would be open, because we drove back to the site thinking our driver could get a pint later in the evening on the Sunday, only to be disappointed.
We did have a problem getting hold of the owner/manager during our stay. We wanted to use the laundry room, but whenever we went past reception it was shut. On first evening walking out of the site we saw the owner sat outside the reception and he confirmed the laundry room is locked up and you need to get the key from him. So next morning, tried reception and it was shut, and the next day. One day driving out for the day we saw the reception was open, so we stopped. The owner advised he gets there by about 10am, and leaves about 6pm, so we could have the key then (no good as heading out for the day) or pcik it up on way back in and keep overnight if we wanted. We returned at 4. 30 pm and reception was shut and knocking at the house drew no joy either, despite trying a few times over the hour. Clearly they don't want you to use the laundry because the locked door also wasn't labelled, unlike the bar and the games room. We never saw the reception door open again for the rest of our stay. There is a sign in the window with emergency numbers, eg doctors etc, but nothing saying when reception was likely to be manned.
While we don't expect all facilities to be "manned" all of the time, at least be like other sites and advertise your opening times of things like reception and the bar. If you knew they were only there between say 9-10 and 5-6 then you'd know what time to try to find someone if you had a query. It was really frustrating because having seen the laundry room on their website we decided we didn't need to take our travel iron with us, and could reduce the volume of t-shirts to take because we could wash some through during the week. But alas, it was not meant to be and did take the shine off the stay.
So in summary, it is a nice park, well maintained park in a quiet location, but the shower water could be better and it would be useful if the reception and bar advertised it's opening times, and if the facilities advertised on the website were actually available for guests to use.

Me and mum just returned from a week here [robbie] and what a lovely quiet place, we prefer the quiet rather than the clubhouse and yes I'm old fashioned lol, , the owner was away while we visited but we saw another member of staff and what a lovely and helpful person and soo hard working, , we didn't use the bar or game room but they looked very nice but we did use the facilities and very well kept and clean also the shower takes 20p to use and runs for a while so plenty of time so no complaints there we also hope to return next year
All in all a fab place loads to see nearby with tenby and saundersfoot and pembroke dock 20 min away if you wanted
Go and visit and see what you are missing

Very accommodating and friendly welcome. Pitches relatively flat. Facilities on site very clean and wee equipped. On Site licensed bar good place to meet fellow campers. Easy access to Tenby by bus which stops almost directly outside site. Would definitely recommend.

Just got back from 7 nights camping at Wood Park Caravans with my 3 daughters (ages 21, 14 and 11}. Friendly owners and such a lovely quiet campsite. We stayed on the non electric field which was not too far from toilets block.
The location is brilliant, managed a walk to Tenby during one of the dry days. We had such a lovely time even though it rained for 4 days out of 7 nights. We also visited Heatherton which only took 9 mins driving and Oakwood took us 20 mins.
Plenty of hot water for washing dishes at 10p and showers with 20p. Toilet and shower area was always clean.
3 - 5 mins walk to farm shop where you can get vegetables and some basic stuff like milk. Also by the place is the fish and chips shop.
I will return to a spacious, quiet, convenient, friendly and very reasonably priced campsite.
Thanks to Jill and family

This site is in a great location for Tenby with the town being just a 1. 5 mile walk away. Its an incredibly pretty walk if you go via the coastal path but very steep so be warned! The site itself is well kept and the facilities were good, although I didn't see the bar or games room open whilst I was there.
A couple of negatives. Its on a slope so this made camping a little more difficult. There is a 10 Pence charge for washing up and 20 pence charge for the showers. One 20 pence is adequate for a shower but it is inconvenient. I would rather they up their prices by a couple of pounds for the night and everything be included.
On the plus side the site is very reasonable and includes electric hook ups. One other comment is that there were some inconsiderate people in tourers playing music all the time whilst we were there. We don't want to hear it! Not the sites fault but there wasn't anyone really around to police this.

This was a lovely quiet site. Good location between Tenby & saundersfoot. Although they have a games room & bar we didn't use these.
The showers are 20p & they lasted long enough to get a good shower. The downsides are the toilets as in they need to be checked a few times a day. Paper towels ran out. They were cleaned mid day so by evening they were very untidy with grass every where. So when we went for shower in morning they were still dirty. & although I don't like the mop bucket with water that most sites have but this one didn't. A squeegy kind of mop would be good to get rid of water in showers.
Last thing the site is sloping but owners will provide blocks for levelling the caravan

I stayed at Wood Park Caravans with my husband and young son for 4 nights in August. The lady on the phone was friendly and made me feel welcome when I made the booking by phone, and when we arrived to the site.
The campsite was well maintained and clean, and it was easy to set up our caravan on the pitch. It was on a slight slope but we were able to adjust the caravan to sit level. Plenty of room between us and the next van, and enough space to park a car as well as have the awning up.
The toilet block was clean and looked new. There was plenty of hot water in the taps but I hadn't realised I needed to pay for washing up water (10p) and showers (20p). Once I did, both amounts provided plenty of hot water and an adequate amount.
We booked Wood Park because it seemed like a quiet park which welcomed families. My son (4) loved the small but well kept play area. We didn't venture to the bar or games room, but felt the atmosphere on the site was perfect for us - friendly but not intrusive, and a pleasant site to stay on.
The site is also pretty close to both Tenby and Saundersfoot, you could probably walk to either easily enough but we used a car to get around because it rained a lot when we were there and our son was tired out from some of our excursions!

We (two kids and two adults) have used this park three times in total and have never had any issues. This year we arrived after an horrendous journey to erect our trailer tent in the pouring rain - we thought that things could only get better and they did.
The toilets on the park are spotless, the on site bar whilst dated is also spotless, so is the games room and the old chap who mans the bar was pleasure to deal with. We had no issues with any other residents and will gladly return here in 2016. We have also stayed ( been camping for 15 years now!) at other sites in the vicinity which are more expensive over subscribed. The words 'sardines' and 'packed like' spring to mind.
There is a great post office come minimarket in new hedges so a campsite shop is not needed and for Tenby- North beach car park is just down the hill and happens to be the cheapest all day car park we could find.
Hope this helps.
