The site has opened a new touring area this year. All pitches hardstanding with electric, water and waste on each (plus a drive over moho point).
The touring site is on the edge of the static park and is brand new, you aren't hemmed in by the static units.
A small facilities block for tourers has 4 combined showers/loos (best showers on a campsite ever) undercover washing up and a dog wash with hot water.
There is a shop on site plus a decent Coop in village. Also a restaurant/ bar on site - didn't use but looked popular.
Plenty of dog walking directly from site towards the head of the peninsula.
It's a fabulous set up, a beautiful drive around from Helensburgh and stunning views up the Loch to Faslane.
At £25 per night all in its an absolute steal - cannot fault anything about it.

Just a wee quick review to let you all know that sadly, this park is going to become a STATIC ONLY from next year. No tents or tourers allowed on site. This site has to be our favourite as it has all the facilities you could need and more. There will still be hired static caravans available though.

This is a super site. We went with our two children, 12 and 10 years. Pitches are sectioned off with hedges and bushes, which made it nice and private with water and electric hook up on many if not all pitches. The children's playground was great and our children really enjoyed the trampoline and other equipment. The children’s club was OK. There is a small charge for each session. We were there over Easter and it was very busy. When they first went our children said the supervision wasn’t good and kids were running riot. They said the staff stayed in the kitchen and did’t get involved with the kids and they didn’t like the club. They tried it again later in the week as they had made friends with some of the other kids and enjoyed it then. The site was quieter so it must have been a bit easier to spend time with the kids. Although our 12-year-old was a bit miffed at being put in a club with 5-year-olds. The toilets and showers were really clean and pleasantly warm and the showers were nice and hot and free Staff were very friendly and polite, the food in the restaurant was lovely and the shop was well stocked. .
The area is very nice and there are water sports available on site. We brought our own kayaks and spent hours kayaking on the loch. The children’s club is just by the loch. If the kids didn’t want to kayak with us they could go into the children’s club and attract our attention if they wanted us. A very well run and pleasant site. We would be happy to go back there

This is an excellent campsite to take children. Pitches are sectioned off by reasonable sized hedging which gave plenty of privacy and a good block for any winds. The children's play area was huge and we never saw our kids for ages, they were that busy. The fun club is a fantastic idea and very cost efficient. The toilets were spotless, and great showers, although a little bit annoying having to constantly hit the start up button because it kept cutting out. Staff were very friendly and the general store they had was reasonable in their prices. We were originally given a pitch which half of it was cut off by trees and bushes and a bit mucky. After speaking to the staff they immediately changed it for another one, although we were lucky in that we arrived on the Friday morning before others. (Avoid tent pitch number 33 at all costs if you want sunlight and space). The bar was just totally fantastic and they have live music on the Saturday night which was awesome. My OH's only concern was that we were stuck right at the back with no views whatsoever of the beauty of the area, but the hospitality and the sheer abundance of things to do on site clearly made up for that. It was only a small walk to the shore. Would have been nice to have had a tent pitch down that direction. Also someones music blaring away at 1am with no sign of any security patrolling to deal with it. On the whole a thoroughly fantastic site and we would go back again.

Brilliant pitches in own little hedged of bays. Clean toilets and nice hot showers. Never had to queue ! All close to loos aswell. Extreamly made up with our holiday here, cannot fault it. We did not have children with us this time, but I think may be awkward if you did and you wanted entertainment at night as children not allowed in clubhouse after 8.00. If you want a nice meal out try the knockderry house hotel in Cove. Gorg country house hotel with out of this world food. We didnt eat onsite so cannot comment but menu looked well stocked. WILL BE GOING AGAIN!

This is a campsite we thoroughly recommend. Tent pitches are all sectioned off with hedge rows giving you a bit more privacy. The toilet and shower block are spotless. Well equipped playing park for the children including trampolines and football area. There is a bar restaurant with entertainment every weekend and with very friendly bar staff. It is a very well patrolled campsite with two security men who ensure that the campsite is not rowdy after 10pm. There are spectacular views over the Holy Loch with kayaking , fishing and boat hire available. In other words this is a first class site. WELL DONE CASTLE PARK ROSENEATH

We went to Rosneath Castle Park this weekend looking for a good camp site which was close to home for quick weekend get aways. I am delighted to say that we found it; this site is, as has been said before, excellent! Rosneath is 20 minutes drive around Gareloch from Helensburgh (famous for Charles Rennie Mackintosh's Hillhouse) on the River Clyde. It's location makes it ideal for anyone wanting to visit the likes of Inverary, Loch Fyne, Dunoon, Loch Lomond, and Glasgow. The site is beautifully maintained with good water sports facilities for the more adventurous. The children's playground is well laid out and spacious, there is even a supervised play area for wee ones where you can drop them of for the princely sum of 70p for 30 minutes. The shower, toilet and dish washing facilities are right in the centre of the touring pitches; and I have to say even though the site was full this weekend they were clean and well maintained. Each pitch is serviced with EHU, water and drainage and there are facilities for the disabled with wheelchair access. We used both the take away facilities and the restaurant on the site and found the food to be of a high standard, reasonably priced and in good sized portions. Our one and only negative comment about the site was although all the pitches are approx 100sqm; the pitch we had originally been allocated was too narrow to take our tent. This wasn't a problem because we had arrived early on Friday and there were still some pitches available so the nice ladies at reception just let us pick another that could accommodate our tent. In the end we were able to get a pitch that not only took the tent, but also our canopy: before we left we took a note of all the pitches which could take the tent. All in all this was a great weekend, we aim to go back again before the end of the month and hopefully for a week long trip during the summer holidays.

Excellent site for all the family - highly recommended! I have visited this camp site twice now and will be back at the end of the month. It is clean, friendly, lots of amenities, and staff are extremely helpful. The Bistro is very reasonably priced, food is an excellent standard, and they even have weekend entertainment (Karaoke, disco, etc). It attracts a nice clientele, and not full of neds! There is certainly a great atmosphere, and everyone should go there at least once.

Just back from this site and rebooked for next weekend! Spotless toilets & showers with constant hot water. These are free. The staff are the most friendly & helpful I have encountered. The pub serves food till 8.30pm and takeaways sold till 9pm. There is a family room that lets kids in with parents till 8pm and after that you have to move to the beer garden outside. The only thing that wastes this is the midges. Take a repellant with you as the place is hoaching with them. The views are stunning. There is a boat club on the site that teaches canooing and kayaking and also a well equiped fishing shop selling rods & tackle. Fishing is free, no need for a permit. There is a great kids club with pool tables playstation, air hockey and arts & craft for the young ones. the older kids can stay till 11pm for £1 per session. There is also trampolines & mini golf for 50p a time. This site does not rip you off! Take the kids bikes with you as there is plenty of room for them to cycle and not a lot of traffic.
