 What a fantastic site. Right out in the countryside in the middle of nowhere, just you and nature. Our dog loved ferreting around in the field. Lovely clean loo block, cleaned everyday, there is plenty of hot water for washing, showering and washing up. I wonder what it must be like when the site is busier though as there are two loos and 1 shower only in the ladies (guess the gents is the same, didn't like to check!)
Be warned - it is very isolated, there are no shops within walking distance, but I'd recommend Londis in Braunston (good local produce), also the farm shop and Braunston butchers.
There is a pub nearby but we didn't visit (a project for next time!) There is a chippy in Braunston - another place we didn't go. Ideal for a quiet time away, and very reasonably priced.

If it peace and quiet and simplicity you are after you will find it here. The campsite is small but has beautiful views across the countryside and the best shower facilities I have seen, more like a hotel than a campsite. Users are asked to help to keep them clean and this is fine. There are useful leaflets about areas to visit but most campers including ourselves were local people escaping to the country for a few days. The pub looked nice as did the farm shop not far away. The owners visit the site twice a day to collect fees and there is a phone number to contact them if there are any problems. A beautiful site well worth a visit and very cheap too. £10 a night for 2 adults and 2 children.

We stayed at this site for 3 nights over the bank holiday weekend.
The site suits us as it is not too busy and there is a nice big field for the kids to run around in next to the caravan pitches. The area around is beautiful and the kids enjoyed a good walk around Braunston with its canal and multiple locks.
We did book in advance due to to the time of year and thought we had reserved a pitch - on arrival some of the pitches had names on but our name was nowhere to be seen. The owner was on hand (by phone) but we would have felt better if we we had seen our name.
As it was, we had a really good time and managed a couple of BBQ's.
The toilet block is cleaned regularly but the grass cuttings were soon walked in making it seem dirty quickly. The showers could do with a quick service as the heads spray water everywhere and water gets on the floor too easily.
All in all we would recommend this site for those who like to get away from the hustle and bustle. Be warned though, make sure you take your supplies as there are no shops around - which is fine if you are prepared.

We visited for 2 nights over the Spring Bank holiday. The site was full, but still a very pleasant stay. We were the only tent with electric having been the first people who had booked with the site for the season. The camp site owner told me she had turned away other tents asking for electric, however the people occupying the caravan next to us admitted that they had only booked a couple of days before arriving.
Be warned that it can be a windy site - particularly if you are on the tent field!

Just returned from a 3 night break at Bush Hill Farm. What a lovely site with great views, Hardstanding and plenty of water and waste points.
The toilet block is very new but not heated.We will be returning soon to try the pub which is now under new owners. We took our folding bikes and we rode round the quite lanes around Flecknoe. We also walked to the canal but we did not have enough time to walk into Napton.
The site fee in high season is £18 for a caravan which is a little on the high side but the site would just about justify this price if the toilet block was heated. Maybe some signs to the site would also be useful.

We had decided at short notice due to the weather to go camping for the weekend, mainly as an excuse to try out our new tent. (Bought end of season)
Living in Coventry this site is on our doorstep, and what a Gem it turned out to be. If you like a non-commercial site, but with the added comfort of a well kept toilet block (showers included), an electric hook up and free hot water to wash up with, then this is for you.
We had a lovely view of the valley from our pitch, and although no rain (hurrah) it looked like most of the pitches would drain well.
We liked the fact that the Warden left us completely alone, the only snag here was paying the fees at the end of the stay. We ended up posting them through the door with a note!
Now we have found this site I can feel many more weekends 'away' coming soon.

Choose this site on the basis of the reviews and location being only 8 miles from home, to take mother and niece for their first camping experience and our first experience of pitching new tent.
Arrived late afternoon and spoke to owner on mobile and was told to pick whatever pitch we wanted, which was handy as it had rained a little and therefore selected driest place, although the ground was fast draining being on top of a hill.
Being novices I like the idea of being left alone to get on with it.
Views were excellent over the valley and facilities were excellent. Plenty of hot water, spotlessly clean and friendly neighbours (Campers)
Would highly recommend this site for either a few days or longer and we will return soon
Only two gripes really, grass was a bit on the long side and it seemed that we were on the approach path to Coventry Airport, and although the planes were high up it really did spoil the peace and tranquillity of the site in the evening. Saturday night was much better and seemed to prove the theory from another camper that they were postal service flights to Coventry hub.
I know the site has no control over the planes but it is worth mentioning although at other times it was gloriously quite except for my 12 year old niece learning to throw a Frisbee for the first time!

This was our first camping experience so decided to find somewhere close to home. We arrived late afternoon having left home 10 miles away in a thunderstorm! The field was deserted and we were able to choose a lovely pitch with hook up at the far end. The rain held off and the views when the skies cleared were fantastic.
Lovely flat site with about 10 hookups and water about 2mins walk away. Shower block was new and about 4 mins walk from bottom of field. Ladies had 2 loos and a shower. Gents had one shower, loo and 2 urinals. Showers were powerful and lots of free hot water. Only complaint was that little plastic stool did not give enough space to put down towels etc with 2 small children in tow.
Washing up area outside was clean and spacious.
Price was very reasonable, as the facilities we needed were as good as a bigger site we had looked at plus the added advantage of seclusion.
Children loved the open space and were able to run around safely and play frisbee etc (only 2 other small tents arrived that weekend)They didn't miss a play park and made their own games for once. There were sheep and a horse in the adjacent fields.
Didn't get to the pub this time but looked lovely as did the village itself.
We had been hoping for some eggs but the hens had not been laying, hoping to return in the autumn so hopefully they will provide us with some for breakfast then!

We have just returned from a weekend at this site. Very quiet and peaceful with fantastic views over the fields.
The owner was friendly and helpful. Clean toilets and shower. Although Flecknoe doesn't have any shops, Daventry is only a short drive away and has the usual range of supermarkets.
From the site we visited Warwick Castle and enjoyed canal walks around Braunston and Napton.

The first challenge on arrival was to find reception, this turned out to be a small bungalow next to the farm. There is a mobile number on the toilet block to call.
The site consists of two areas. The first a long field with gravel hard standing with nice large pitches. The second was a field with some electrics. The views from the field were amazing. We were on a good pitch that was slightly higher on the hard standing and had a good view of the valley.
The hard standing pitches had a tap between two pitches and waste water. There was also a manhole area for waste water (at last a site that thinks about waste water and not having to lift it in the air)
The site is a working farm and the field behind use had a black pig which the Kids enjoyed. There was also horses and sheep. The site could make better use of these assets. I would recommend the owners put in a children's play area and a animal walk were the kids can interact with the animals a good example is Fairfild farm, Eastbourne.
The shower block is new, the gents has only one shower and one toilet (two in the ladies) and two urinals. There is a disabled toilet (but no shower) between the gents and ladies. This can be used if desperate. We never had an issue, however it could be on a busy weekend. The shower worked well and they were always clean. There was also a washing up area.
From this site we visited Coventry (shopping) , Warwick castle and Stratford upon Avon.
