Excellent campsite for those walking the wall.

Ample facilities and well maintained.

Showers, washing up, laundry, etc.

Simple but just what you need.

Staff on site and easily accessible. Nice additions like picnic tables, etc.

Close to the wall.

Would recommend!

Friendly welcome for a walk-in. Gave advice about best place to pitch.

Sheltered pitch, quiet.

Clean facilities.

Perfect for an overnight stay while walking the Hadrian's Wall Path.

 Pros:

- lots of space

- even ground

- farm cats!

- friendly staff

- large check-in window

Cons:

- noise rules not implemented, so be prepared for an awful night's sleep if your "neighbours" are inconsiderate

- freezing cold shower

Convenient for Hadrian's Wall. Basic but clean facilities with hot showers.

Its one huge field so possible to find space and privacy.

Fire pits seemed available but we got there too late to realise that.

Nicd, basic farm site right on the Hadrian’s Wall path.

Showers fine, loads of place to pitch and fires allowed in pits.

Short walk to bust stop for the HW shuttle bus.

Disabled facilities are good, and throughout the week was a lovely field with friendly owners it’s a working farm and noise was as expected -

However two things spoilt it on the Friday two large groups turned up and set up at the EHU end of the field and completely surrounded front and side an elderly couple who like us had enjoyed lovely views and peaceful rest.

They set up lights and music and partied respecting the no noise after 11. 30 rules so cannot complain about that as such but they could have gone the other end of the almost empty field or at least respected the space of other campers.

Again didn’t affect us too much other than making a trip to the toilet a lot further and not so easy for someone with poor mobility but the poor couple had packed their stuff and as soon as 8 in the morning arrived packed their tent and left looking upset and very tired.

The other issue we had was one of the farm workers in his car saw us come down the hill of track to the farm and thought it hilarious to still drive towards us and then stop leaving us little

Choice but to have to scrape past a scratchy hedgerow and clash wing mirrors he was laughing and could have politely waited. As a footnote don’t follow sat nav directions or you will drive down a farm track that is not suitable for anything other than a 4x4 or a tractor.

We decided to leave a day early rather than spend another night listening to a rave. I would stay again but only Sun to Friday and out of season.

Went with my sister her twins (13yrs) and my other half,

Quiet location, good facilities,

The owners didn’t bother us at all, we could build fires, have a drink, and a dance without being frowned upon, cheap as chips,

We also went to the fish farm at Brampton, 30mins west,

Would definitely recommend going there ! Fab

The location is central to hamshaugh town centre and a quick drive

Showers and toilets that are available were clean and easy accessible from the campsite.

Booking in was easy overall great experience.

Overall a lovely site, in a great location. Facilities a bit basic and hot water not by abundance.

Ideal for touring this area of the country though and lots of 1 night campers.

You need to get there for a shower early, otherwise the hot water has run out!

Amazing views. Good, basic facilities (though hot water not always available - which is most likely down to us waking up late every day), friendly Campsite owners.

We'll definitely be back again.
