Gem of a site, down its own road, which meant it was away from the main road and also light pollution.
The main noise was from the Curlew flying around. Lovely rural views, Chickens ran around the field, sheep and lambs in the adjacent field.
This is a grass site and can be effected by the weather, Due to the recent rain we stopped in the hardcore “Road” in the middle of the field and hooked-up.
Clean Toilet and toilet/shower room. There is a community shop and Pub in Slaley, which we were unable to visit.
Site is within easy reach of Corbridge, Hexham and the major Roman Wall sites.
Definitely on our to return to list

We've been before and love the location and the site has great facilities (shower, I door games room with pool, skittles, draughts and table tennis)
There was some initial booking confusion that caused some anxiety - this was resolved fairly swiftly - thankfully. In all honesty.
There were lots of cobwebs/spiders in the toilets/showers that could have done with a feather duster (my daughter was a little frightened) and the floors could have done with a mop.
Other than that I couldn't fault it.

Very pleasing and wonderfully peaceful grass site. We regularly heard oystercatchers and curlew calling, and nothing louder most of the time we were there.
Views East over rolling farmland, North down past the "Travellers Rest" (didn't visit so can't comment) and on towards Hexham, only minutes away. (If towing to Hexham, check on your route. The winding "No HGV's" road past Linnels is attractive in a car, probably entertaining on a bike, but the tight right-angles into & out of the very narrow bridge would be seriously impractical. )
Next to the field, 3 rams far too busy cropping grass in their own pasture to pay any attention whatsoever to people using the water tap on the campsite side of their fence!
Excellent location well down the farm's own lane, well signed once you're approaching.
Tape-marked bays meant good size pitches, most with EHU.
Slaley's village community shop, a very short drive away, is apparently excellent, though we didn't get to use it. Open most mornings.
Very business-like, friendly and helpful owner.
No children when we visited, but it's been set up in the past to be child friendly with a basic play area and "mud pie kitchen" hut, also what looked like a proper skittle alley in a temporarily closed barn.
Facilities, 2 unisex toilets, one with a good shower, fine and well maintained, just across farm courtyard; many of us were using our own most of the time.
The chemical toilet disposal point is not the newest, but works perfectly well.
We had very heavy rain at times and the ground drained well enough. I imagine it would be fairly exposed in a real blow, although there are trees round to provide shelter, "lollipop" cut by the owner to still allow the views.
Easy to reach Corbridge, Hexham, Blanchland and other Tyne valley area places, likewise the major Roman Wall sites. Vindolanda, as in the famous Writing Tablets, was our choice, and was hugely rewarding; the museum is superb, and they're still digging the site and have years of research material to uncover.
Definitely a campsite we hope to return to.

Gem of a site. Bit wet after all of the recent rain. Only 5 caravans with EHU, all pitches roped off to ensure separation.
We stayed at the bottom of the site. Views out the windows were brilliant.
Covid 19 conditions enforced, Need to use your own facilities.
Had 2 perfect meals at the Traveller's Rest (we could see it across the fields from our caravan).
Perfect for visiting Hexham, Hadrian's wall and the North Pennines.
Only gripe was we had to call to get the wifi password, quickly supplied and worked perfectly

Small site in field next farm house and buildings. Grass pitches were very wet when we arrived as the weather had been poor and the pitches at the lower end were quite soft. We pitched upper middle which was fine. Site is high up so we caught a lot of windy weather.
Toilets and shower were both clean and well organised. Very quiet with views across local woodland and farms. It's nicely positioned to visit Hexham, Corbridge and other Roman sites.
Beware very narrow bridge with steep approach unsuitable for caravans on road to Hexham. Do not arrive from that direction! We had an excellent walk from Corbridge to Hexham and another round Derwent reservoir from Pow Country park car park to picnic area on far side and back.
The cafe at the centre near the dam is only machine coffee with prepacked sandwiches, cakes, crisps etc. No hot food. There is a nice community run shop in Slaley where we bought local beer, yoghurt and eggs.
Also very pleasant charity run vegetarian cafe in Hexham near Abbey with delicious lunchtime food, Hextol Tans Cafe, St Mary's Chare. Recommend.

This is just the place to go when you want quiet, an excellent view, and neat facilities.
For everyone who wants to eat out: The Traveller's Rest just down the road serves food to die for! We've stayed there twice now and are sure to come back.

Just returned from a lovely weekend at this peaceful site. Lovely location and a lovely site. Toilet, washing facilities and shower on hand, which are well kept. Friendly chickens and farm dog but be careful as the dog will get into awning and eat anything lying round which didn't go well with our dogs. Good facilities for the kids including a little bowling alley built into a shed. We will be returning for weekend breaks as often as we can

Really nice little site with lovely owner, thank you Elizabeth. We enjoyed the peace and location of this site. Beautiful setting with farm animals, cute friendly lambs in next door field. Lots of walking around the area and lovely views across the country from the campsite field. Really enjoyed our 2 Day stop over thank you.

We are a group of six families that celebrated our children's 2nd birthday at Rye Hill Farm last weekend. We camped there for one night and couldn't have asked for a better location: a beautiful field sheltered by some trees with views over the surrounding countryside and hills. The farm's sheep, dogs, chickens and cat added to the charm and entertainment of our kids as did the little playground with logs, slide and tyres. The toilets and shower were clean and close to the campsite. Would definitely recommend staying there & we will try and come back!

Just back form this site.
It was lovely and peaceful with a friendly welcome. The site was very very quiet, perhaps due to the time of year or the weather (it rained pretty much all the time)
Because of the amount of rain and the very soft field, people were asked not to take their cars onto the field. I think this is a great thing! Being in a tent you can sometimes feel a little vulnerable with cars driving around.
Just a wee note that there is now a separate toilet as well as the Toilet in the Shower room.
I was staying here whilst attending an event in Newcastle and it suited me perfectly, very handy to the A69 but far far away from the road noise
