This campsite is one of the best - the pitches are generous; the views really are special; Ilfracombe is within easy reach by both car and bus and it is tranquil and peaceful. Nice walks close by to Watermouth Bay and beyond, and the Hele Bay Pub in Hele Bay does nice food both lunchtimes and evenings. Would I go back - oh yes.

The nicest camp site we have ever been on - The weather was dreadful wet with 60mph winds but we had the best time. The view from our pitch and the washing up area was stunning and the owners did everything to make our stay as good as possible. They even bought down their own tumble dryer to help everyone out! The toilets and showers were always clean and the little shop had lovely organic meat. The kids loved the climbing tree.We cannot wait to return.

Originally concerned about arriving without booking. However we finally got hold of them and, given low-mid season, that was fine.
Perfect site if you looking for peace and tranquillity. One evening we were the only tent there!. Just Brilliant. Views are outstanding even when washing up! Showers and toilets clean, pleanty of hot water (Free!) and a free freezer facility (where you can put your ice blocks-not drinks!). Don't forget to recycle everything when you are there.
The owners are very friendly and helpful. Make sure you arrive with cash or a cheque book to pay for pitching. We will be definitely going back there soon. Plenty to visit near-by, with choices of at least two pubs. Tesco and Woolacombe beach a short drive away.

This is one campsite where you really can believe what they say on the tin. It is tranquil and the surroundings stunning. The washing up area has the best views you could ever wish to see and makes this unrewarding task an absolute delight.
This is our 5th visit to this site and we will make many more. The new shower and toilet block is kept spotlessly clean and the shop has basic necesseties. But this is the attracion of Little Meadow and this is what makes it work. Everyone who visits this site seems to appreciate this and you seem to become a member of the Little Meadow family. If this sounds a bit odd, visit the site and you will know what I mean.
The surrounding area has everything you could wish for. Woolacombe beach has to be one of the best in the country and there are plenty of activities to suit. The coastal path is stunning, just the short walk to Ilfracombe is breathtaking. There is no down side to the camp site or the area. Once you've been you are hooked.

One of the best sites we have stayed on! We chose the site based on reader reviews and were not disappointed. The pitches are huge and have truly amazing views. The toilets and showers are simple but tastefully done with whitewashed plaster walls and wooden doors but they are immaculately clean with lashings of hot (very) water and no queues. The owners sell local foods and we tried steak, lamb chops, sausages and newly laid eggs which were excellent value for money and outstanding quality! The coastal path is a short walk away and it takes you into Ilfracombe or Coombe Martin. Local buses stop nearby. The pub is also easily walkable. To make it perfect, we suggest some hard standing, increased water pressure at drinking water taps and more electricity hook-ups.

Pure Bliss :o) This wonderful site sits on a hillside above Watermouth Cove with breathtaking views from neatly terraced pitches (think Rice Paddies and you get the idea). Each pitch is generously proportioned and the terracing mean you don't end up overlooking lots of other campers . Just that breathtaking view. The terraces are neatly hedged, providing great windbreaks (you are camping on a hillside, so it could have been blustery.) As night falls you can watch vessels sailing up the Bristol Channel, silhouetted against the distant lights of Swansea and Mumbles on the horizon. Walking out of the campsite down to Watermouth Castle (via the site footpath) brings you directly onto the Coastal path and some wonderful walks. The new toilet block is excellent, and the campsite incredibly friendly and well managed (without resorting to a plague of notices). This is a site aimed squarely at quiet relaxation so if you want clubhouses and amusements go elsewhere! If you are towing it's best to arrive from the direction of Ilfracombe - arrive via Combe Martin (as we did) and you'll find the turning too acute and will have to drive on by to turn round. This is not the biggest or best equipped sire we have visited, but it provided us with probably our best camping holiday in more than 30 years :o)

Just spent Easter weekend camping at the site with our dog, and again I would like to say how great a time we had. The weather was fantastic, the views are breathtaking, the people friendly, and the walks, fishing, barbeque's etc etc etc were great. We do like to travel around, but when you have all this, its difficult not to come back here time and time again. The new shower and toilet block is the finishing touch, thanks again!

We had an excellent time at this fabulous campsite. The therapeutic value of such amazing views cannot be overestimated. The owners of the site were very friendly, doing their best to accommodate our request for additional nights and supplying us with a long hook-up lead, free of charge. The locally made cakes were too delicious and the bread and eggs were lovely. The coastal walk, which was very close by was an absolute treat. It must be said that we did not encounter one cloud during our stay - I can't comment on stays during turbulent weather. However, we will definitely be returning! Thank you Sian and Nick!

The view from our tent was the best we've ever had. Rocky coastline and wide open sea. We sat in the tent with binoculars watching the boats go by. Basic toilets and showers but never had to queue and I understand the owners are re-vamping them over this winter. Bit windy but then we were on the coast! At least the sun shone the week that we were there.

A site that does what it says on the label. It says "quiet and tranquil" and that's what it is -- and everyone respects that. All facilities superb, owners friendly, site lovely. Tesco have now opened a superstore in Ilfracomb, only a few minutes' drive away from the site (go past Hele, turn left onto Barnastaple road at next lights and then follow "Superstore" signs after about half a mile). There is so much to do in North Devon that even 2 weeks is not enough. We will be back and definitely visiting Little Meadow.
