April 2004 We've just come back from Hertford CCC,it was lovely. The kid's had good fun playing in the open space. Toilets and showers very clean even though it was a bit muddy you wouldn't of known it. The showers were lovely and hot, and the people were really helpful. only being half hour away will return again. A nice little town not far away.

Spring/Summer 2003 Only 15 minutes away from home, this site was ideal for short weekend breaks in our first year of caravanning. Although close to home, we felt we could be a hundred miles away with the peace and tranquility of the site. We tended to camp on the back field away from the hard standings. A great place to unwind and facilities are good too. We'll be there again this year!

July & August 2003 As first time family campers we visited this site twice in the long, hot summer of 2003. It's a very quiet location, well managed and very well cared for. The kids (10 & 13) thought that it was great.
The shop carries essentials & the local town is only minutes away. We would recommend this site to anyone with young children who just need space.

May 2003 I would like to add to my review above. I re-visted this site as it is only 20 minutes away and didn't want to travel too far on a Bank Holiday weekend. I spent four nights here and the place is great. I have now realised that the site was much bigger than I first thought with a seperate area for tents (if wanting to use it), many more electric points and some great walks. There is a kids play area on site but beware it is in a field in the middle of the site surrounded by very high trees, which means if your littluns are young be warned you will have to accompany them. I noticed dogs on site that must be kept on their leads. The reception I received was friendly and welcoming and overall I would thoroughly recommend this site, it also accepts non-members by the way.

June 2002 Stayed 1 night in very hot weather. Ecellent facilities, and pleasant staff. Man on a bike showed us to our 'pitch'. He took us to a wooded glade at the far end of the park and said 'put it where you like mate'. the site is informally laid out being lots of small areas as opposed to one big one. You should'nt have too much problem finding a secluded spot for yourselves. Hertford nearby for pubs, restuarants, and the train into London. Give it a try, I don't think you'll be dissapointed.

September 2002 I stayed here for one night and the site was very pleasant indeed. There was nothing on site other than very well maintained facilities with plenty of hot water. There were a lot of electric hookups on site also.
The county town on Hertford is very nice with the Castle and many pubs and restaurants. The Cathedral City of St Albans is just 20 minutes away in the car and is stooped with history and makes a fantastic day out.
I would return to this site.

Frequently I agree with everything the above reviewer has stated. We use Balls Park regularly as a weekend get away with it only being 40mins from home it is ideal. I like the fact that there is absolutly nothing there it means you can sit and read or chat with virtually no interuptions. On every occasion we have visited the site and facilities have been spotlessly clean and warm off season. Wish we could find more like this.
