First of all don't let the fact that you have to drive through a run down industrial estate / bus park put you off. Yes, if you're walking from morrisons then the walk takes you close to vehicles coming into and out of the site but then they should all be aware to drive slowly.

The site has barriers to prevent you entering and exiting the site, although these seemed to be kept up throughout the day.

The staff are efficient and to the point but are fairly friendly. Though don't think they will miss any possibility of get monies off you - think it's a bit of a cheek to be charged for a trailer that only contains the tent and kitchen stuff but then seems to be the trend now for some sites.

The site is flat but is completely open with only a few small trees dotted around.

Kids are only supposed to be allowed to play ball games at the end of the play area, which is situated at one end of the campsite, next to a small river but is right next to the exit road which can lead to a few worries with some of the people that seemed to be on the site during our visit. There were other grass areas more central that were suitable for playing but although the signs said no ball games would not have affected other campers.

The toilet blocks were clean and tidy all the times used and the single bath unit in both ladies and gents came in useful with the little ones.

The gripe I have is that the pitches, whilst I'm sure are 'standard size', they are a lot smaller that other sites visited, as you have to squeeze the car onto the pitch as the site roadways are narrow.

Normally I would say that you get what you pay for but this time I was left wanting more for my money.

The access to this site through an industrial estate & coach park is thankfully very far removed from this well maintained campsite. Having Morrisons so close by is very useful, and the walk to the lovely town & pubs of Ross is no more then 10 minutes.

The toilet/ shower facilities are kept clean and the place is very well looked after.

We went in a group of 8 families, all the kids took their bikes - very much a part of every camping trip we have ever made - but we were immediately told that bikes could not be ridden on any part of this site. The football/ cricket game that has also become part of our camping culture could not take place either as ball games were restricted to a very small area.

There is a children's play area - it is very small and did not keep the kids occupied for long. On the plus side they enjoyed the fishing lake.

Wrongly or rightly we got the impression that this site is not for children - at least not children of the age group between 5-15 as were ours. It is ideal for couples with very young children or couples without children just wishing for peace and quiet.

The site rules are extensive and although they do appear on the website, the rule relating to bikes should appear on the homepage as this is a big factor for many families (evidenced by the amount of families turning up to the site with bikes).

After driving through the industrial site at the side of Morristons you come across a large open site, plenty of space, well kept and clean facilities.

Park for the children. Site was half full when we were there but still lovely and quiet we didn't hear motorway traffic. Friendly staff, willing to put us next to two groups of friends.

Very close to Ross on Wye town centre, morristons supermarket 2 mins walk, town centre 7 mins away. Rose and crown public house does lovely bar food down by the river front.

Will definitely return to this site

After driving through an industrial estate we was surprised to find a lovely clean and well kept site. The wardens are very friendly and helpful.

The showers and toilets are very clean and tidy.

A large morrissons is directly outside the site and a 10 minute walk into the town of Ross on wye which has some nice little shops and plenty of pubs and cafe,s.

Wetherspoon in the town also very nice.

Other people have commented on the traffic noise from the A40 but I can honestly say we heard no traffic noise.

The site is pricey as we have paid this and had a club house and pool but saying that we will definitely return.

A lovely open park with beautiful surroundings, once you have driven through a bus park (??) with walks around the lake and ducks to feed. Reception welcome was good, and the park is secure and we felt safe.

The nearby motorway was not too noisy on the night we there. All facilities very clean and well maintained, but the shower has a push button operation (as most do) which only lasts for 10 seconds.

This is not long enough, a minimum of 1 minute for a shower would be desirable. Also the water was not nearly hot enough. It is a little more expensive than some.

Very close to the town of Ross on Wye which is a beautiful little town full of history, and full of lovely restaurants.

This site is well maintained, clean and handy for the town centre.

However it's a bit like staying in an army camp. Never have I seen so many signs and instructions. The ladies shower block alone has 8 different signs on the walls if you include the one on the door, if that's not enough some of these signs are duplicated.

Also it may be handy for town but it's also handy for the odd thief as we were burgled twice! This is the only site I have stayed on where it was not safe to leave things in the awning.

Our friends daughter and partner were not allowed to visit us because their vehicle is a company vehicle, he was told to leave his vehicle in the town which he didn't want to do because of it's valuable contents. I appreciate the rules say no commercial vehicles are allowed but they had no intention of staying for long and what would the reaction have been if he had come to repair our caravan. Overall a very nice site spoilt by being too regimented.

Never again!

Having read some good and even glowing reviews from others about this site we were really disappointed: the site is right by the A40 and lacks any kind of effective sound-proofing barrier between the traffic and the campsite.

We were awake till 1. 00 am, when the traffic noise finally stopped. Until picking up again about 7. 00 am the next morning.

Yes, the toilets are clean and yes the site is well-run and yes it is handy for Ross but none of these made up for the traffic noise.

Lovely site 10 minute walk from Ross, friendly wardens, showers/toilets were spotless. Even had a bath.

Nice wetherspoons in town. Morrisons next to site, though when we were there was a lot of building work going on.

You have to go through industrial estate to get to site,

Very small dog walk and couldn't let dogs off lead even in dog walk because of ducks.

Was quite expensive and charged £1.50 for each dog.

Childrens play area at edge of site.

We were only there for 1 night on our way to Devon but would definitely return

Nice tidy beautifully well laid out site close to a nice pleasant town Ross on wye with very helpful accommodating wardens. They were a little uncomfortable having to ask for extra money for things like £3.00 per night per car for a car being towed by a motor home when as every knows no extra charge is made for a car towing a caravan which I must say both take same amount of room on a pitch. This is a first for me I hope it is not the start of a trend to get more money out of us motorhomers. Other than that it's a well run site.

Great site right in the middle of Ross on Wye. Well maintained grass pitches all with EHU of a good size for our tents although I think they could be a little small for larger caravans etc

Shower blocks and laundry etc all very clean.

Excellent location once you actually enter the site through an industrial coach park.

10 minute walk into town with Morrison's and sainsbury's very close.

Lovely quiet site overall - everyone abided by curfew times etc. The children's play area is down one end with no cycling allowed across the site.

The site can be a bit noisy down the end nearer the road but we got used to it after one night.

We were there over the bank holiday when it was fully booked but there was never a feeling of overcrowding.

An excellent site and we will definitely go back.
