We have just returned from 6 nights at this site, we where very impressed with the whole set up, staff where friendly and helpful. Showers where VERY powerful, they had a selection of sinks/toilets- showers/toilets and baths/toilets. Great washup room, games room, playground. We where very lucky with the weather which does help, its a nice walk (left out of site) down a safe footpath/cycle path to the shore, where there where shops, Jenners, Hawkshead(loads of bargins) newsagent, shoe shop, Pondon Mill, Cafe, plus, a couple of special market days, Farmers then French. There is an Aquarium, great playground, walks, boats to hire, loads to see and do. You can walk through the park into town, where you will find, 3 pubs, 4 restaurants, Co op Store, Chip shop, and a lot more things to see. The town was over crowded on the weekend, with loads of visitors, but the week days where quieter. Loads to see and visit in the area- well worth a stay.
The site is a mixture of hire statics and lodges, seasonel pitches and the tourers, it is less than 1/2 mile to town or shore, a little traffic noise over the busy weekend.

Our forth visit here! Last time was 2 years ago but found park even better this time. Improvments made to site helped us enjoy our stay of 3 nights but left us wishing we had booked for more on planning our holiday. Play park been moved and made bigger also new prep and dish wash area added to toilet blocks. Balloch still same hive of activity only 5 minute stroll away and Chinese at entrance to park still brilliant- ate there all 3 nights as did our neighbours on park! Will be back hopefully this year but if not for sure to be on itinary for next years holiday!

This is a large site on the Edge of Balloch which is a small place with a few pubs and shops and has good rail links with Glasgow and surrounding area. The site is for caravans only for which there are all hard standings of various sizes and some super pitches. There is a t.v.room, and a sauna which I didn't use so cannot comment. There is a small dog walk but for more walks it's about 10 minutes to the edge of Loch Lomond and the castle grounds where there are gardens, forest and open grassy areas all nice places for picnics especially near the waters edge. The facilities on the site were clean but in my opinion looked tired and needed updating I think this let the site down a little. Beware the showers are very power full, the water felt like needles on your skin. There were a few baths which is unusual on sites today.
I would stay here again as it is a good base for touring the area.

This site is very convenient to visit a lot of places around Loch Lomond, it is about five to ten minutes walk to the edge of the Loch and a pretty walk through the woods to the Castle grounds which is lovely. There isn't a lot at Balloch only a couple of shops and a few pubs though we were only there for two nights . It has a good rail service to Glasgow. If you like mac Donald's there's one right by the site. The site itself has all hard standing pitches, we didn't hear the road at all from where we were as said in the last review. The site doesn't take tents anymore. The toilet and shower facilities were clean but needed up dating, in my mind they let the rest of the site down, the showers, were very powerful ( felt like needles going into your skin) and were on a press system which only lasted about ten seconds at a time and so you were constantly pressing it. There were baths, the first I have seen on a site. Although it was full it didn't seem crowded at all, in fact it was a very pleasant site with a stream running through it, and it had a dog walk. There was also a t.v. room and a spa. I would stay here if I were in the area again.

August 2005 Having read other reviews and checked out their web site, we thought we would try this site. The washroom, shower and toilet facilities are second to none, spotlessly clean, well looked after and even heated. The site itself is well maintained and tidy. We were given touring pitch number 6, which backs onto a busy road and traffic can be heard at all times day and night. TV reception from this pitch was non existent. The pitch itself is large gravel and difficult to drive in pegs for your awning. Rock pegs are a must! The onsite shop stocks many caravan accessories and pegs of all kinds. Brilliant!
Balloch itself, is not much to write home about, but the Loch Lomond visitors centre is a must see, although the accompanying shops are overpriced. Lomond Woods is a very clean and well maintained site, let down only by the location of our pitch and the price we paid for it (high season). Not sure if we would stay here again though. There are other, cheaper sites around with equally good facilities, except the toilet and washing block. They were really the best we've seen.

March 2005 Having visited this site touring in both tents and caravans many times, we decided to take a seasonal pitch. This is a spotless, friendly and well laid out site with a fantastic toilet / shower block and even a jacuzzi suite. The amenities close to it are second to none! On the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond and good transport links to Glasgow it is ideally situated. There is plenty to do for everyone from great local pubs and restaurants to boat trips on the loch all within easy walking distance. There is also the recently opened Lomond shores. If you are looking to visit this part of Scotland, give this site a visit. N.B This site no longer takes tents

july 2003 This is a perfect site for families with children. The facilities are perfect, although it takes a while to get used to bringing your key to the toilet, to be able to get in the building. We were a party of two and were on the backpackers field, which has more than enough space for the amount of tents that were there. This is a very big campsite with many caravans, not really ideal for backpackers, too big for our taste, and not very cheap...

Easter 2003 A spacious, well laid out site with different area’s for holiday homes, statics, tourers & tents. We were here at easter and this area gets very, very popular and so too does this site. That said although the site must have been full (didn’t see many spaces left) it didn’t feel crowded. Trees & shrubs used to divide the sections gives the impression of each area being a small campsite by itself. The toilet block was clean and well maintained and equipped with the usual as well as a couple of baths with seats & big handrails and although they were having trouble with a couple of the showers in the gents and one in the ladies, it still gets the thumbs up. Outside the block there was even a covered dishwashing station which was something we didn’t use…….. when you’re on a motorbike there’s not much space left for a full dinner service! :)) The usual things you’d expect from a big site were there, shop, laundry etc and everywhere gave the impression of being well looked after which can be no mean feat for a popular site like this. Pubs and eatie places were just a few mins walk from the site as were the Lomond trip boats. Recommended but if you don’t like traffic jams (& who does) then try not to go at peak times.

Fine, fine site! Member of the "Best of British" and highly commended by the Scottish Tourist Board. The site is around 13 acres of mixed pitches from grass with no hook-ups to completely serviced hard standing pitches. All the pitches are well laid out and some are quite secluded. The staff are very friendly and are always happy to help. The park houses a games room with two pool tables and a TV along with all the usual suspects! The park also has a leisure suite, consisting of a Jacuzzi and a sauna and sunbed, although this is not free of charge. The park also sites caravans for the season and also provides winter storage for you caravan. Site fees are around £8.50 per night and £2.50 for a hook up per night. The showers are free and the toilet block is very clean and well maintained. There is also the usual laundry and washing areas along with well distributed water and waste point all over the park.Situated minutes from Balloch and Alexdria. Alexandria is home to the Loch Lomand factory outlet, where the other 'alf can always pick up a bargain at your expense! Loch Lomand is also very close by. Accessible either from Balloch or a short drive up the A82. Boat trip out onto Loch Lomand are available just before the bridge in Balloch. 10 minutes drive north on the A82 you will find Luss the home of "Glendarich" from the TV soap "Take the High Road" an extremely scenic little village. You may even see "Davie Sneddon" patrolling the village!!
