What a brilliant site! Just got back from our first family camping trip in our brand new tent! 2 adults and 2 children under 3 years. We picked this site as it was not far from home and took my parents in their caravan for a bit of help.
The site is lovely on the edge of the forest and although we went in the middle of holiday season and the site was near enough full they still managed to pitch us opposite each other next to the playground, which I have to say we were not to sure about, but it was fine not too much noise mostly late afternoon which soon stopped at dusk. (just like the owners promised!)
Nice little shop on site selling the basics milk, bread, ice creams. (you have to order your morning papers) oh and the fish and chip van of fridays, which I have to say we didn't try.
There was a massive down pour the second day we were there and the site drained well, no flooding.
Toilets and showers were spot less with lots of hot water never had to wait, they were cleaned everyday. We used the family room once, after we enquired about it we put our £10 deposit down and were given the key. That too was spotless with lots of room for the four of us. Very handy having a shower you could take off the wall to wash our 15 month old standing up in the shower.
They were some lovely walks from the campsite through the forest and very nice picnic areas within a short car drive away. Tesco is not far either about 10 minutes by car.
The test of a good site --- yes we would go back again!

Just visited this site (for the first time) on the spur of the moment thing on the Sunday before the bank holiday. We were unable to get through on the phone but luckily on arrival they had had a couple of cancellations which we took advantage of.
The staff at check-in were all very friendly and we were guided to our pitch. We had a nice size pitch behind some conifers in the field next to the large play area. There were lots of children about playing but that didn't bother us as we were there to have fun with our Son anyway.
Late afternoon, we ventured into the forest next to the site (not Thetford though as the website suggests, that is actually 10 miles away!) and did one of the guided walks. As we had taken minimal supplies we ate dinner at the Dog and Partridge pub in Wretham (about 1.5 miles away).
Note: Watton about 6 miles to the north has a Tescos and small high street with various local shops and a few takeaways.
Following day we visited the Thetford forest and had a great time at High Lodge adventure centre (highly recommend).
Overall very nice site, quite large but very well maintained.

This site is excellent, the facilities are clean and well kept, the site is on the edge of the forest trail and is great for walking. It is a dog friendly site that has a specific dog walking area.
The pitch was large level and dry. The space between vans was great and everyone who we spoke to loved the site, us included. The Shower block and waste facilities are newly renovated and are excellent. Access to the site is well signposted and easy, though it is not wise to rely on satnav, ring and ask for directions.
There is a shop on site that does the basics, papers, milk, eggs, bacon and the like. The camp staff are so easy going and friendly that you just feel at home. If you are looking for a bar at night, take your own, there is no clubhouse, this does not detract from this site as it is aimed at families who are walkers or cyclists who may not be looking for this sort of facility, because of this it is a lovely quiet site.
It is only a short distance from Thetford so for a break you can visit this town, it has all the usual facilities, with supermarkets and the like. There are pubs and restaurants nearby and the shop will recommend some if you ask.
This is a great place to just chill out and recharge the batteries in a lovely setting, or those like me who like woodland walks, it is a place to get lost from the crowd.
This site is one of the best kept secrets, it is popular so booking is essential, and if you want a bank holiday then book very early.

Lovely site with lots of room to spread out. Separate (huge) fields for ball games and kite flying. Toilet block appeared to be brand new this year and was well appointed - never any problem with queues. Staff very friendly and helpful - as CCC staff always are.
Location excellent for cycling or walking in the woods with access directly from the site. We cycled 4-5 miles north to the Chequers for a lovely lunch. And barely a car in sight.
Fish and chips on a Wednesday night - enormous queue - would have been quicker to cycle to the pub again!
Some road noise in the night but not overly intrusive.

Well first of all, the pitches seemed much larger than the standard C&CC size, which was great.
Facilities on site are as follows:
Reception/shop Showers & Toilet blocks X 2 Family room X 1 Dish washing areas X 2 Laundry room Fishing pond Large playing field with swings and slides at one side Additionally there was a signposted walk through the woods which runs through the back of the campsite Also, a Fish & Chip van visited on Wednesdays and Fridays. Reception & Shop: We were welcomed and booked in very easily and shown to our pitch very efficiently. The shop was stocked fairly well with food essentials, sweets, basic frozen foods along with camping essentials such as tent pegs etc.
Toilet and Shower blocks:
There were the main blocks and the 'pink' blocks. We were near the main blocks and they were kept clean with a daily clean along with campers (requested) to mop out the shower tray after use. The showers were always hot, and operated by use of a push button, but I found that they didn't stay on long enough to wash your hair for example because one push give about 10 seconds of water, but this wasn't really a problem once you got used to it. There were 3 hooks behind the doors to hang clothes etc. There were 4 showers in this block. The sinks were in cubicles also with hooks behind the doors with over head lights to make it easier for apply makeup etc (if you like! :) ) There were 4 toilets in this block The 'pink' block was at the other end of the site and again every thing was clean and tidy, but the sinks were not cubicled off, but the showers seemed larger in size. In both blocks there was a hairdryer that didn't need any money. I didn't use it, so I'm not sure how efficient it was.
Family Room:
We paid a deposit of £10 for the key for this room, which comprised of a normal sink, a belfast sink, toilet, baby changing drop down shelf and normal (i.E. Like you would have at home) cubibled electric shower and a childs potty. This was kept very clean and the tap on the normal sink could be pulled out to make a shower head to wash small children's hair or fill the belfast sink as we used this as bath for DD. The only thing I found was that the belfast sink was very slippery for daughter to sit in, so we bought a cheap bathmat and cut it to fit the belfast sink to stop her skidding around on her bum! One gripe was that even though the door had frosted glass you could see in quite well, so be warned I wouldn't use it as an adult. I can vividly remember seeing a mans bottom whilst waiting to go in with my daughter!
Dishwashing area:
4 sinks in the main block and 2 in the pink block with plenty of hot water. Single sink with drainer. Nothing more to say, other than one great thing was that they had the push in gripers for you tea towels so you didn't have to throw it over you shoulder and risk it falling off into the sink!
Laundry room:
1 washing machine (£2.50 per wash) last 40 minutes 1 tumble dryer (minimum price is £1.00, and £1.50 dried a large wash load which included towels). £1.50 lasted about 40 minutes also. 1 handwash sink, the water was hot in the morning, but cooler come the afternoon. One gripe was that there wasn't a spin dryer for any hand washing, which could have been useful. Also there wasn't a clothes drying area such as a washing line etc which I've had at another C&CC site. Also, the local attractions information leaflets etc, were kept in the laundry room, so you could browse while you were waiting!
Fishing pond:
This is advertised as lake, but it is definitely a lake! However it looks as though there were 4 or 5 wooded ground areas for sitting easily when fishing. I'm not sure how likely it would be to catch anything though. The camping pods (new to the site overlook the pond).
Playing Field:
This was over to the opposite side of the site to the fishing pond. It was very large and there were lots of children playing around with kites and on the swings etc. I can see that it could be a bit noisy if you were pitched here, but if you had children it would be very useful. However the site isn't that large, so even if you are pitched near the pond end, then your children wouldn't have far to go.
While we were there the site had mountain bike hire and mountain bike training along with guided rides through the forest.
Overall, a very nice site and well situated for Norwich or the coast in East Anglia. There seemed to be loads of local attractions including go ape, a whisky distillery, a zoo, just to mention a few. Close by in Thetford there was a 24hr Tesco.
The fish and chip van was very popular and my DH had to queue for 1 hour!, but sadly they weren't fantastic in portion size or quality, but OK if you get back late, or pitch late etc.

Fabulous campsite. Easy to find with owner's directions. Spacious pitches and plenty of room for children to play (playground and designated field). Facilities clean. Reasonably well stocked shop. Owners very friendly. Location next to Forest is brilliant and great for walking and cycling (bike hire available on site). Only downside was that the party couldn't book pitches together.

We have only just returned from this site but will be booking to return very soon!
The site is lovely and clean and well managed. The pitches were larger than average and accommodated large tents and gazebos. The shower block was always immaculate. My two girls (aged 3 and 5) loved the freedom of the park and playing field.
The only downside that I can think of is that the showers are a little two small and a little too hot for young families and me because it was far too hot outside to be having hot showers! There is a family room however.
You are in the flight path of fighter jets which fly over about 5 times a day, this isn't too bad and if you have young kids they will love it. You are also next to a battle camp where the army do some training and occasionally have to listen to bullets flying. My kids thought this was just the best.
The Forest is beautiful and well worth a wander through.
Will most definitely be booking again very soon

Just come back from a two week stay at this site. Check-in was wonderful: easy and organised. The site is excellent, a good size, well laid out, attractive to the eye, clean and tidy. There are two additional playing fields which are an excellent feature and great for the kids. Facilities are very good, there's a new central toilet block which is modern and clean. Excellent showers, if anything they are too hot! There's also and older facility block which is equally as clean and an excellent alternative to run to when the weekend crowd arrives. It is surrounded by forest which could provide two weeks of walking / cycling on its own. Generally a fantastic family site, would stay again without hesitation. Constructive comments? Lots of wasps it seems, a few wasp traps around the boundary would be very welcome. Lack of info, a central noticeboard or a hand out upon arrival would be a great way to highlight local facilities. The posters in the dishwashing area we did not notice for a week. Lastly a greater variety of foods in the shop, including frozen foods.
Top tip: sit back, have a few beers and listen to the owls in the forest around mid-night. Wonderful.
Would reccomend: Bewilderwood (nr Wroxham) is simply brilliant. Snetterton (British Touring Cars), Norwich Castle, hire boats at Wroxham, Sandringham, Wells-next-the-sea and a seal trip to Blakeney.
Wouldn't recommend: Thetford town - good for essentials if desparate but run down and nasty.

We visited this site in july and had a great time. The toilets / showers are really clean lots of free hot water also great washing up facilities 5 sinks!
The play area is brill and kept my 5 & 9 year olds amused for three days there 2 huge playing fields for ball games / cricket etc.
We went because of the fishing on site this was a big disappointment just a small pond really so if fishing is one of the reasons for visiting this site don't bother! otherwise great site although loads of dogs which kept barking all night would visit again

We stayed at this site for four nights whilst travelling between rallies. The site was immaculate and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. We didn't use the showers so I cant comment on them but the toilets were extremely clean. The site adjoins Thetford Forest which has excellent marked dog walks. We will definitely be using this site again. There is a small fishing pond which is well fenced (good for those with small children) The pond has a disabled platform which is a nice addition as there are quite a number of disabled fishermen, The only possible criticism I have (and it is a small one) is that you cant use maggots for bait.
