After trying unsuccessfully to book this site a couple of times we finally made it this Summer & what a fantastic site it is - they really do seem to have thought of everything.
A lovely sheltered location with a real family friendly feel. Although only a small site there was plenty to keep us and our 10 year old daughter happy, playground, fishing, goats, donkey, sheep, cycle rides, dog walks etc etc.
The on-site hog roast was superb and really good value.
The facilities were spotless and without queues even when the site was fully booked - definitely the best showers I've ever had on a campsite (better than at home too!).
Another really nice idea was the enclosed dog exercise area over on Muntjac Meadow - really nice to be able to let the dog have a good run around without worrying about losing her!
All the staff (from the owners to the cleaners) were friendly and helpful and nothing seemed to be too much trouble from paper deliveries to wifi access.
The nearby A140 could be heard and we seemed to be on the flight path for offshore helicopters but neither detracted from this great site.
Came away feeling totally refreshed and looking forward to returning next year - I've learnt my lesson and booked early!

Deers Glade, what can I say that has not already been said. The staff are a credit to this camp site, a family run campsite that is very clean and well maintained, good size serviced pitches, even the goats are friendly.
One big bonus is that the site is in the middle of woodlands, sheltered from the those winds that can at times get a little strong. My two girls enjoyed themselves as did my wife and I.
Best beach is West Runton, rock pools and sand, I advise to wear shoes when rock pooling. Close to Aylesham for Tesco's, close to Cromer for crabs and close to Sheringham for evening walks and a bag of chips.
We will be back in 2012, one of Norfolks little gems.

What a lovely site, would recommend. Main site is in a lovely setting, fishing on site, great woodland walks, pond dipping area. Great play area, kept children very busy.
Very helpful staff. We had a very large pitch and the staff were flexible as to where we could place our tent, which makes a nice change.
Toilets very clean and modern, but there were only two showers in each block. This did result in some queuing. One shower was amazing, the other a bit slow flowing. Great hog roast on the Saturday night. Well stocked shop.
Went over to Muntjac meadow (non-electric) field to visit relatives (10 minutes through woods) very nice site, seemed like a nice atmosphere, only two showers there too, and in a portacabin. Great communal campfire where the children toasted marshmallows.
Great area, lots to do. Sheringham worth a visit, and Cromer. Sheringham swim pool very busy and expensive.
Steam railway in Holt-Sheringham
We had a great time here and would return. Pity about the weather though.

Just returned from 7 nights at deers glade and what can I say apart from fantastic site and we loved every minute. Just booked for 14 nights next year.
Our children loved the park and animals and husband enjoyed fishing, we had the hog roast on the Saturday we arrived and it was fantastic.
The pitches were spacious and quite private. Only wish we had been there longer
This site had the best showers I have ever come across on a campsite and I have been lucky enough to never have been to a site with bad facilities yet.

Had a brilliant two weeks here. The site is very sheltered, first time in ten years of camping we didn't have to use the guy ropes. As previous campers have said great facilities.
Never had to queue for more than 5 mins for the showers. My son really enjoyed the playground particularly the tyre swing.
There is a fishing lake and my husband had a couple of fish out of it. The site is kept tidy and at night time everything is quiet about 10. 30-11pm.
The shop freeze ice packs for 50 pence per bag of ice packs which is great value. The hog roast is lovely but get there early as they sold out on one Saturday and it was a huge pig!
The fish and chip shop at Roughton is good. Would definitely stay here again.
One tiny gripe. The vanity unit around the wash basins does seem to get covered in a lot of water so makes it difficult to put towel, washbag etc down.
Perhaps if there were some sponges provided people would wipe the water up.

We visited site 3 yrs ago & decided to re-visit. Play area has upgraded and small pen with sheep & goats. Sat night hog roast on site very popular!
Fantastic pitch sizes with small hedge round to make each pitch private. Booking essential.
We had electric hook-up. Could still do with a couple more showers in each block we didn't have to queue - the trick was to have a wash in the morning & shower 5pm!
Hired boat at Wroxham to go on Broads for day. Yarmouth 30 mins away, Cromer & Sheringham close by. Morrisons supermarket couple miles away near Cromer.
Boys were disappointed this year by the fishing lake - did not seem very well stocked and others commented it had not been fishing well all year
There were a lot of children on site but by 11pm the site was silent although by 7am it was noisy again! No having a lay in - but hey that's camping!
Only criticism the site is not well lit at night - take a torch for those late toilet visits! Will visit again.

Visited this site for the first time, x2 families with large tents and hook ups, we had 2 decent sized level pitches.
Showers/toilets were in very good order, kept very clean, staff were very attentive.
Despite being a busy time of year there seemed to be plenty of space for kids to play and little waiting time for showers, washing up sinks etc.
The on site shop had usual basics.
They have a Hog Roast on Saturday nights, well worth trying, don't leave it too late as it is very popular.
Easy access to Broads, Norwich etc.
This is probably the best site I've visited.
Only downside is the A11, once you get off the M25 traffic is slow until you get passed Norwich.
That said it is worth the hassle!

Just had 2 weeks at Muntjac Meadows which is Deers Glade August overflow field - also used for rallies during the rest of the year - it was a last minute booking and we have a big tent so it was great that they squeezed us in.
I say squeezed but the amount of space on the meadow was huge - the kids had a great time and my daughter says it was her best camping ever.
We never had to queue for showers but it was maybe due to judicious timing (between 6:30 and 7:30 in the evening).
The first week was a bit windy but I think it must have been the same for the whole country. Second week we would just sit and watch the sunset - beautiful red skies. We had some rain but the gound drained fantastically and there was no mud.
Great communal campfire. Lot's of space to pitch and play. Relaxed environment. Everybody respected the no noise rule after 11pm. Lots of good things to say about the meadow.
My only concern was ice blocks - the freezer is on the main site - 10 min walk each way - in the office which is only open between 9am and 6pm. Quite often we would find ourselves rushing back to the site to change the blocks before the office shut at 6pm. I didn't particularly mind paying the 50p per set of ice blocks but quite resented the opening times especially when we'd had a great day out on one of the many wonderful beaches. I recommend that in future they put the freezer somewhere else.
Lastly although it didn't actually bother us(in fact my wife and children never heard it), I could hear the nearby A140 quite clearly during the night. This was quite an unexpected realisation as we normally camp well away from busy roads. Don't let this put you off though.

If you book for this site, make sure you know which site you will be staying on. We were allocated a pitch on Muntjack Meadow, which is apparently for more 'seasoned' campers.
Deers Glade itself looked lovely and had all the facilities that you would expect on a 5 star site. Muntjack Meadow is a large field with a small, very overused toilet and shower block.
The field is quite exposed on at least 3 sides and when the wind blows it feels quite strong so that the people next to us had to move their tent.
Due to the fact that there were so many people on the field, the womens' showers were always occupied, often with up to 4 occupants (mum and kids). I had to wait for more than half an hour every time and resorted to washing in the tent and showering after 10pm.
The alternative, I suppose would be to use the facilities on Deers Glade, but it was quite a long walk (a good 10 mins) down the lane.
The central camp fire was a good feature and was great for kids who tended to meet there and toast marshmallows on it.
I would have preferred to pay the extra £3 per night and stayed on Deers Glade.

Yet again had a great time. This time we stayed for 10 days. Muntjac meadow is fantastic, but I used the shower facilities on the main site, purely because I cannot work the showers.
Good location easily accessible.
Staff are so helpful and always around.
Hog roasts nights are a must but start queuing 45 mins beforehand.
Going back next year for 2 weeks this time with 2 dogs and a kayak for the broads.
Pubs are a bit of a trek, and don't forget most are shut in the afternoon so check first.
Site shop has very basic needs but Tesco is 10 mins away in Aylsham. There is also a morrisons in Cromer by the station.
During the middle of August Cromer have their festival be warned very busy and parking at a premium.
