We visited this site for a week, and ended up staying for 12 nights. Heaven.
The owners made you feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
The site was laid out very well, plenty of room between the pitches.
The showers were very good, lovely and clean whatever time of day you used them. As was the washing up room. The information leaflets were very helpful.
The local pub and shop were handy.
There was so much to visit. Walking, cycling.
In fact I didn't want to leave this paradise. If only it was closer to home!

What a little gem of a place!
We only stayed one night on our way north, but wish we could have stayed longer in such a tranquil, well kept and well thought out site which is also just a few moments from a village pub and good walks.
The owners could not have been more welcoming, the hot showers were immaculate and perfectly well designed. It is true to say that perhaps its not perfect for small children bearing in mind the small river that runs to one side, but which is a delight to nature lovers.
Do take care when entering the site to watch out for the owners dogs, one of them is very deaf and it would be horrible to think of an accident to such a dear little chap who may not hear a vehicle arriving.
We most certainly hope to be back to Run Cottage, though I think booking in advance would be advisable to ensure a pitch on such a lovely site.

We only stayed for 2 nights due to unforeseen problems at home but were made so welcome by the friendly owners who are working very hard to make improvements to an already lovely little site. Hard standings have been added to the second field and we were able choose one of these.
We arrived late due to incorrect directions in the caravan club handbook. Do not follow these! So glad we persevered and found Run Cottage. Despite being late we were made welcome and given plenty of information. We had a lovely day cycling to shingle street and down to bawdsey harbour where we had a lovely sandwich at the sailing club. It was rather cold so we didn't take the ferry across to Felixstowe but imagine that would be a good trip.
Pub in the village was fine, typical pub food. Wifi available there if you need it.
Showers ok, found the timer of the press button a little frustrating but understand it saves water. They were kept clean which is more important. Extra showers are being added. Had no problems emptying the toilet cartridge.
Would happily stay again when we re visit the area.

The expression, 'The Curate's Egg' sums up this site set in a beautiful and quiet part of the Suffolk countryside.
The good parts first: The site is very quiet and well-laid out. The owners are obviously looking to add more pitches, hard-standings and other facilities (family/disabled washrooms). It is a quiet site and has a pretty pond (great for pond-dipping if you have a net) as well as a variety of pitches. The owners are pleasant and very helpful. If you are looking for a quiet stay, then I would recommend this site. We enjoyed our stay here.
The not so good bits: The waste water / chemical disposal point needs sorting. You have to push your waste water container up a small steep concrete slope - very difficult for more elderly or slightly disabled caravaners. The chemical waste goes in the same place, and as this is not at waist height, you can get your feet splashed if you're not careful - not pleasant! The owner said the lay-out was because of the shallow drains, but one feels that some ingenuity could have fixed the problem.
In fact, we couldn't help feeling that the toilet block needed a bit more thought behind it. The shower cubicles are not very big, and the floor tends to get wet, so you have nowhere dry to stand as the wooden slatted floor 'thing' gets wet too. There is nothing to hang your shower gel on in the gents showers, so you have to use the floor. On two occasions the shower curtains had come down from the wall. In one toilet cubicle you have to be a contortionist in order to get some toilet paper! My wife and I felt that the two family rooms being prepared are going to be in demand, as they will hopefully be so much more easy to use! But like another reviewer said, I do wonder if the small facilities will cope with the planned expansion.
There aren't any children's play facilities at the moment, and parents of young children should ask at the time of booking not to be near the pond or the water channel/ditch at the back of the site. Whilst we were there the bins were full till quite late in the morning. Perhaps a bit more attention to detail is needed.
We'd go again, but would be hoping for some improvements to be made.

I don’t really want to tell you all how good this site is. I don’t want to mention that it’s set in a beautiful location, just a couple of miles from the beach (Hollesley Bay), within easy reach of a great village shop and pub (6 min walk) and a short drive from the idyllic town of Woodbridge. Nor should I tell of how quiet the whole area is, with Rendlesham Forest close by, with miles of peaceful walks from the site, and even more leafy lanes to explore by bike. Probably not a good idea to tell of all the attractions in the area such as Sutton Hoo, Stonham Barns, and the inspiring coastal towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold (Aldeburgh has a chippy to die for – but you’ll have to queue to get ‘em!)
Ok, I will say the site is very clean, very spacious, very green, very peaceful, and has lovely owners.
So hopefully you will understand why I wanted to keep this site to myself, because I think it’s so special – next time I call to book, I don’t want you lot there ahead of me!

What a cracking site all round well kept clean and tidy throughout we had a lovely stay here the owners where friendly and chatty Toilets were clean and have to say we found them warm throughout the time we were there great site will be here again. Great pub 800 yds away and the area surrounding was stunning. Bawdsey Quay was lovely and we found the local convenience store a great bonus overall this is an excellent site and would highly recommend it to one and all would we return- Most definitely.

Nice cleaned & well maintained site, the only criticisms was that if the site is to remain open all year round the heating in the toilet / shower block needs to be much better, as though the water in the shower did get warm the building itself was VERY cold. This is our only reason for marking this site down slightly. A short drive from the site is Bawdsey quay well worth a visit.
Would we return to this sit ? Most definitely

Only our 3rd trip in our new (to us) motorhome that's why we went this time of year rather than our normal summer months! Booking was easy by phone and very friendly. Got to the site late in the day (around 4pm) entrance could be a bit tight if you have a long outfit (our motorhome is 7. 5m I swung out to get through entrance). We met the owner who gave me a choice of pitches as there was only 2 other units there.
The site is in a lovely location if you want to relax and not do too much, but a bit out of the way if you don't want to drive to get to places (possibly a bus runs through the village but didn't look into that). Due to the time of year we were on hard standing the ground was very soft, but it looked like more hard standing pitches were being added.
The toilets were spotless but a bit cold, and only the gents seemed to be open so my wife had to use them. Good heated washing up room for plates etc and a fridge/freezer that I assume can be used for cool blocks etc. Bins and recycling facilities.
Only stayed for one night just to keep trying out the van so can't comment on immediate surroundings although the pub looked nice in the village. Think the one toilet block and one washing up sink could get rather packed if the site was full, need to keep an eye on young children as no fencing around the ponds, but my main gripe would be the tons of dog mess everywhere around the site, my 4 yr old managed to stand in some of course. This must be down to the owners dogs as I didn't see any other dogs there! We would go again though would be lovely in the summer time.

What a fab site!
The inital phone call was a joy with lots of information given (great for us as only our 2nd trip in motorhome)and when we arrived with obvious technical difficulties a tow to our pitch was immediately offered (thankfully not needed).
The site is in beautiful surroundings with a lake/stream at one side (plenty of life preservers around). The pitches were well laid out with hedges along back to split them up & electric hook ups. We had a hardstanding pitch which was just as well in the torrential downpour Saturday night, though the people on grass pitches seemed to be ok moving off next morning. Plenty of rubbish/recycling/water places & partner said grey water/chemical waste area was brill. We did have fewer tv channels than normal but weren't really there to spend time watching tv just the news/weather & footie results.
Excellent shower/toilet blocks although could do with little shelf in shower (ladies corner one only one I used, partner said they had window ledges in gents) to put toiletries on.
The information area was stocked with loads of useful things, as well as tourist bits there was pub menus, magazines, books & dvd's to borrow & return, local papers listing events ie firework displays & maps of walks.
The local pub served good food if a little pricey!
We visited Woodbridge, Aldeburgh & Shingle Street all lovely places, would happily return as many more places to see.

The site is very attractive, sitting in beautiful rolling Suffolk countryside. The village has a reasonable pub and a great shop. The welcome from the owners was really nice and they leave you to yourselves to enjoy your break. Our only criticism of Run Cottage is that the facilities are a bit odd. The floor tiles are like paving stones, so never look or feel clean underfoot; in fact a bunch of hair in one corner stayed there for three days - ugh! If I was them I'd re-tile the floor and it'd be like a different place.
Recommended visits: Sutton Hoo, a few miles away is haunting. Lavenham is the finest and best preserved English medieval town. Venture further through Ipswich to Flatford Mill and see where Constable painted the Haywain. Snape Maltings can kill a few hours as can Southwold nearby.
Tip: You can walk 2 miles to the next village of Shottisham to the Sorrel Horse pub, a beautiful thatched pub with a fabulous range of beers. Just don't do it on a blazing hot weekday lunchtime because they only open on weekday nights! They are open normally only at weekends. Food not great though.
We were unable to get any TV reception but that's fine, we were there to chill out.
