Love this campsite (still, we reviewed a few years ago when the current owners had just taken over)- it's small but everyone is nicely spaced out - it's quiet (apart from the dawn chorus but we were prepared this time and had ear plugs!)- everyone smiles and says hello - wash facilities are clean and nicely presented and perfectly sufficient for the size of the site.
Very flat too - it's also in a great position as 10 mins from Cromer and the lovely sands of Overstrand etc and there are some great places to eat in the area. As one other reviewer said, the owners Pam & Billy are lovely and helpful but not in your face.
It's strange really, there aren't 'stunning views' but we always feel as if there are! There's just a great sense of peace.

Lovely long weekend in hot weather. Great clean site with a good shower block (piping hot turned up half way!) and no queues! Dogs on leads were made very welcome and a rogues gallery of dogs who have stayed is displayed. Long dog walk opposite the site through picturesque Norfolk fields.
Lovely little amenity cabin cum laundry shack that has the essentials we all forget- chocolate biscuits, jam etc! Owners were very friendly and helpful yet not 'in your space'
Great location for exploring some of the quieter beaches on the North Norfolk coast. Definitely will return to this one.

What a gem of a site, billy and pam are great hosts and the site is fantastic, they really look after it and make you feel at home.
Every thing was clean and well looked after.
Toilets and showers are clean and well maintained.
There's a cabin on site with washing machine and microwave, tv, books to lend. And all the information you need for the surrounding area. There's a honesty box if you forgot your shampoo.
The site is close to many attractions, we didn't know which direction to go in first.
The local pubs sell great food and are very welcoming.
We loved it so much we are going back in July.

This site was recommended to us by friends and we were not disappointed with what we found. The site is tucked away behind Poppyland Cottage and not visible from the road. The site owners, Billy & Pam, are very welcoming and helpful. We had problems with our sink pipe whilst there and Billy was only too happy to help and fixed the problem.
We were booked in for 4 nights over the May Day Bank Holiday but liked it so much we stayed for 10 days!
Being Adults Only the site is sooooo peaceful and quiet.
The toilet / shower block is more than adequate for the size of site. We always found it to be spotless and is cleaned daily, there was even fresh flowers in the ladies. There are two separate privacy cubicles for the ladies with loo and basin, one of the cubicles also has a shower and both have large mirrors and plenty of space. My hubby tells me there are two loos, wash basin and one shower cubicle for the gents.
Both ladies and gents had clean hand towels, paper towels, liquid hand soap and air fresheners. The showers operate on a 50p coin which we found supplied more than enough hot water. Although the site was full over the bank holiday weekend we did not have to queue for toilet or shower once.
There is a portacabin with a few supplies and also books, dvds, local info leaflets & maps, sink & drainer for pot washing, washing machine, fridge / freezer etc etc and again, kept clean and tidy.
Billy was busy installing new TV aerial sockets to pitches whilst we were there, after a few teething problems he had them up and running before we left so I was able to get my TV 'fix' and hubby was pleased as he could watch the footy! (Yawn - might have to fall out with Billy for that one!).
There are bird feeders and bird tables around the site which we thought was a lovely touch - it was a joy to sit in our caravan watching the numerous species of birds tucking in (we counted 23 different species).
Recycling is encouraged on site.
Poppyland is a great base for visiting the coast, broads and for wonderful country walks. We particularly enjoyed walking our dog in the woods at nearby Felbrigg Hall.
The Suffield Arms and Vernon Arms are both a short distance away (5 mins in car) and serve fantastic food. Our dog was made welcome at both.
Have already booked to go back and would not hesitate to recommend to others.

We had a great Bank holiday weekend here and like other's have said the owners could not be more friendly or helpful. It was very handy having a bus stop out side of site although they do not run on Sundays or Bank holiday I believe. Cromer was a short bus ride away and we went on the Saturday and was pleasantly surprised at how it had been spruced up since my last visit. There was also a garden centre close by.
Our Newspapers were delivered ! The facilities were spotless and bright and cheerie. The washing up facilities were in a cabin and my other half praised them ( I don't do washing up when away)
We will most certainly be going back again.

Well the reviews of this site were generally spot on. Pam and Billy gave a very warm welcome and really will go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. Being ex caravanner's they understand what matters. A personal newspaper delivery service was offered by the site. We stayed over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend where the site was full.
The toilets and showers were kept very clean but in my view were slightly too small and will need updating in the near future. Only one shower and two toilets in the mens and the sink was in front of the toilets which made access difficult. The supply of a urinal would help at busy times. The showers always had plenty of hot water with a charge of 50p. I personally would prefer a small increase in site rent and to have the showers free.
The electricity supply was reliable at 16amp but the TV signal is intermittent. Billy has installed TV points, but on our pitch there were still problems with picking up the signal.
It was fantastic to see honesty and trust. Pam and Billy leave a small supply of essential and some non essentials like chocolate in the Portakabin with an honesty box. There is no shop in the village and this is really a very sensible approach. As well as the shop goods the Portakabin hosted a wide range of information for the local area as well as a picture board of all visiting dogs which were made very welcome.
It is in a good position for visiting the local area and if you like small sites and peace and quiet this is the site to visit. The only thing missing, a fishing lake (but Pam did offer a bucket with a goldfish)

We have just returned from a wonderful 4 days at Poppyland Touring Park and can't praise it enough. Billy and Pam make every tourer so welcome and are always there to give help or advice. We were having problems with our new satellite TV and Billy couldn't have been more helpful. He even borrowed another caravanner's cable and dish to eliminate any faults on ours!
Poppyland is a beautifully peaceful level site. There is loads of space between the pitches and they all have electric hook up.
The shower/toilet facilities are kept beautifully clean, and Pam adds such lovely homely touches, such as flowers in the washroom. There is also a clean hand towel put out each day and hand soap available.
On the site there is also a cabin with washing up facilities, a washing machine and microwave. There is a very extensive lending library and some DVDs / games to borrow. Pam and Billy also have in the cabin quite an extensive range of everyday goods like milk, eggs, bottled water, foodstuffs, sweets, toiletries etc to buy all labelled up with their prices and an honesty box for the payment (a rare sight in this day, but it makes you feel so good to be trusted in this way).
All in all, if its peace and quiet in a beautiful part of Norfolk your after then you won't find anywhere better than Poppyland Touring Park - we will definitely be visiting again.

What a gem this little site is! Perfect hosts very helpful and informative. Site is quiet and not lit at night so no light pollution and the stars were amazing!
Very dog friendly - Poppy, our Yorkie, will soon feature in the rogues gallery in the information kiosk! Pictures are taken of doggy guests and put up for all to see. Shower and toilets are immaculate.
Lovely friendly atmosphere, newspapers delivered to our caravan first thing - one of many thoughtful touches by the site owners. Really can't fault it. Already booked for next Easter!
Cromer very close. Beaches close by are dog friendly but you need to check as in season dogs are banned from some of them.

Beautifully maintained site, very peaceful and very friendly owners and other users. We had no need to use the showers etc but from what I could see they were spotlesly clean. Good sized pitches and we were lucky with tv reception as we were away from the trees but I know that some were less fortunate who were set back at the top of the site surrounded by the high trees.
Great dog walk across the road, plenty of room for them to stretch their legs. There is also a fabulous farm shop very nearby. As the weather was very warm for this time of year we used the shop all the time for unseasonal BBQ's.
Great base for exploring the coastline and the stunning scenery inland, would deffinatley return

Superb, absolutely faultless.
There is plenty of space between each pitch and the ground is level and in beautiful condition (as soon as someone leaves, Billie comes on his sit-on mower and mows the area where they were pitched). The site is surrounded by trees which makes it very private and quiet.
The ladies' toilets are exceptional and, although there are are only two loos and one shower, I never had to wait in the twelve days we were there and the site was full. The shower room was as good as some en-suite bathrooms in hotels I have stayed in and much larger than most. There was a real feel that Pam took pride in making this area as pleasant as possible, even to hanging mirrors and pictures and putting an orchid in each room. My OH says the gents was very good also.
The cabin is a lovely, welcoming little place and the honesty box is a nice touch.
We have two large German Shepherds and they were made very welcome. Pam takes photos of the dogs (and cats) on site and they are put on display in the cabin. There is a good walk for dogs just across the road where they can be let off to run for miles. One lady told us that she had been walking her dog here early one morning and had ssen a stag in the middle of a field.
Although Thorpe Market is a quiet little village, there are many places to visit and some lovely,dog-friendly beaches nearby which are never crowded - sometimes, we were the only people on the beach.
We stayed here for twelve days and it wasn't long enough!
Would we return? You bet!
