Excellent site with good clean facilities (showers operate on a push-button system - only downside!). Pitches on hardstanding were very generous (we used a full size awning).

Well situated for forest walks and cycle rides (a gate leads from the site straight into the forest). Train station next to site with routes to Manchester and Chester which is very handy for shopping / days out.

Nice quiet site with only a little noise from trains / traffic. Will definitely visit site again.

As expected - immaculate site / facilities. Right on the edge of the forest and just a few minutes walk and you are in the heart of the cycle trails / footpaths.

Chip van arrived Friday evening - by all accounts food excellent.

Wardens very helpful and cheerful. Site was full but seemed very quiet and peaceful.

Trains run behind the site but hardly heard them all weekend. Some road noise but nothing too worry about.

Pitch sizes on hardstanding were very generous - grass standings seemed a little more cramped but probably as site was so full.

Shop 1 mile down the road - stocked everything and lots of fresh foods / home baked breads etc.

All in all a really good site with plenty to do in the area. Would visit again.

Lovely site, nice wardens, close to forest. There is a brilliant fish and chip van on a Friday night in the carpark. This site is usually quite full.

Well well worth a visit. Site is really close to the forest which is its best point, but does get quote full, especially at the weekends.

Just returned from 3 nights at Delamere Forest site and can't praise the wardens enough. They were very helpful when we arrived and the whole site is immaculate. Toilets were always clean and water hot.

We were pitched at the back of the site close to the gate into the forest. Ideal for our 14 year old twin boys to go exploring and the dog loved it.

Previous reviews have mentioned the fish and chips but I feel it only right and proper to let everyone know that Wednesday night is Pie Night at the local shop. They deliver freshly baked pies to the site at 5 o'clock so you just need to have your potatoes and veg cooked and you can sit down to a fantastic meal. Order and pay for them the day before.

If this site was closer to home it would definitely be somewhere we would visit regularly.

We have spent a lovely time at Delamere campsite. It is well kept, the wardens are very polite and helpful and nothing is too big or small.

The toilet block is spotless we can not find a fault. It is a dog friendly site. Very peaceful. The forest is beautiful, our dogs love it.

There is a shop a mile down the road and on a Wednesday evening he will deliver freshly home made pies.

Spent a great weekend here in early March with our new motorhome which we had collected the previous day. Arrived to a very warm welcome by the wardens and given a choice of pitches.

We chose the pitch furthest away from reception and the toilet block so cannot complain about the walking distance to use the facilities. The pitch was very large and level. We were quite close to a water tap but all of the other facilities - waste water, chemical disposal and rubbish bins all seemed to be located near the entrance.

We were about 10 metres from the gate into the forest where we spent most of the weekend. The dog had a great time. There are miles of walking paths through the forest so you can spend a few days here and find a variety of walks. As the weather was good it did get very busy in the forest on the Sunday.

The showers were always very clean and had plenty of hot water and although the site was busy, never had to wait for a shower.

Didn't know about the visiting chip van so had already brought food with us but will make use of it next time - will definitely be visiting again.

Didn't use the shop but did think that the information hut was well supplied with plenty of leaflets for all the local attractions including restaurant menus, take aways etc.

Having the motorhome we tend to stay put once we arrive on site so cannot comment on the local attractions.

Was quite busy on the weekend we stayed but was very peaceful at all times.

A great dog-friendly site which will definitely become a regular venue for us.

If you have active dogs or kids this is a must visit site!

The wardens are really friendly and helpful when you arrive, and if you need anything whilst there - nothing is too much trouble.

The toilet facilities are very clean and satisfactory for the size of site. The small on site shop covers emergency's, Frodsham isnt too far away if you must visit a supermarket.

There isn't a play area on site as there is a perfectly good play area right through the gate into the forest. There are loads of marked trails for bikes, feet & paws to explore. Go Ape is a 2 minute walk from the site if you fancy dangling about in the tree tops.

The hardstanding pitches are very generous and almost perfectly level.

My only niggle is the distance to the bin area, and to the water point if you are on the bottom part of the site.

All in all a great place for an active weekend.

We had a lovely weekend here early March. The staff are really pleasant and helpful and the site itself is lovely.

A relatively small site, no play area but surrounded by fantastic forest for children to play. Showers spotless, you enter by a coded lock. Shop sells essentials and there is a small village shop about a mile down the road. A great fish and chip van calls at the site on a Saturday evening - lovely freshly cooked food.

Lots of walks/bike tracks through the forest - our dog loves it. Pleasant cafes at the visitor centre and next to the railway.

Site is directly next to the railway station, but you don't have a lot of noise from it. Manchester in one direction and Chester the other way.

Harringtons (Discover) caravan shop about 2 miles away.

A very pleasant site!

Another great Camping and Caravanning Club site!

As we have come to expect from C&CC sites, it was very well kept with an immaculate toilet / shower block.

It has not been open all that long and I'm surprised that it doesn't have any Club Super Service pitches – I think the Club has missed a trick there. I also think that it could do with a few more toilets – it wasn't that busy for our stay but a bit of a queue formed in the gents on the Saturday morning!

There weren't many children on site and I can see parents criticising the lack of play facilities for them but then with Go-Ape right on the site's doorstep plus the forest itself, maybe the club felt there would be plenty for them to do.

The beautiful city of Chester is only 12 miles away and is a must. Liverpool is within an hours drive and although not as nice as Chester, it's still worth a visit, especially the huge Anglican Cathedral.

There are plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby - we can recommend the Copper Kettle in Tarvin if you like Thai food and closer still is the Vale Royal Abbey Arms serving traditional, good value English fare.

Overall, an excellent site and well worth a visit.

This was our first stay on this site and we will definitely return.

The site, toilet block and wardens are first class.

Ideal for train station (5 min walk) for day trip to Chester. £7-50 return for 2. Ask for duo return.

And don’t forget your walking boots and bikes. There are plenty of walks and cycle tracks in Delamere forest. Maps can be purchased from site shop.
