Great site nice and flat and seem to accept any unit without silly rules. Plenty of room between pitches and though we no longer have small kids, they are child friendly and nobody bothered us and it was very quiet at night.
The electric on all the site failed for about 20 mins but got sorted. The ladies who book you in are very nice and the toilet utility block is modern and spotless.
The only thing not so good are the two points at each end of the site for disposing of grey water, which are soakaways, that are not capable of handling the volume of waste, it may be different if the site is not so full.
A walk or bike ride in Delamere Forest 2 miles away is a must and the local pub the Fishpool Inn 5 mins from site sells good beer and the food looks wonderful but we didn't eat.
Will definitely go back

Site well signed, pitch had plenty of room, Joan was lovely and very helpful, Toilets / Showers were immaculate & I mean spotless however if site was chocker you may have to wait to shower or wash up as there are only a couple of each of these, that said we encountered no problems.Shop on site was fine for basics and play area clean tidy & safe.
Nice area to walk the dog on site and a pub 200yds away which again welcomed the dog.
Superb location for Delamere, Beeston Castle, Oulton Park and Winsford / Frodsham only a short drive away.
Kids had a ball and made some new mates as everyone seemed really friendly and it was a top chill out zone. Will defo be going back in next few weeks.
As said above had nothing to compare to but if all out trips are as good as this site was we will really enjoy this camping fun we have ventured into.
PS - Ice cream farm in Beeston is a must to visit, Apple Pie & Custard in a cone - heaven

Just come back from this site which was our first ever camping trip.
This was a great site, Joan (the manager) was very friendly and showed us to our pitch which was a good size for our 8 man tent.
The kids loved the play area and mini football goals plus plenty of room for ball games.
The showers and toilets were spotless but their were only 2 of each and I can imagine that these may get congested during busy periods.
The shop stocks general provisions bread / milk / sweets at reasonable prices.
All in all an excellent site and one we will be visiting again.

We have a Outwell Montana 6 and there was plenty of room for the tent and our car. The whole site is level with plenty of hook ups and night lighting, a small play area for the kids, reception selling the basics, a great view of the woods and now for the most important (according to the wife)
The toilets, they were 1st class. I can only speak of the gents very clean with 2 toilets and 2 showers and 3 hand wash sinks, you do need a code for the toilets as they are closed at night, you are given this when you arrive.
The only downside for some is that the site is close to a road that takes plenty of traffic (didn't bother me at all I can sleep on a log).
Joan who runs the site was very helpful with information on the local pubs, the Fishpool Inn at the end of the site is worth a visit Main Courses from about £7.00 with plenty of choice and his Adnams Ale was spot on.
The Abbey Arms further up the road was ok.
The Alveney also sold good beer, but we didn't try the food.
We had also taken the wife's sister and her daughter along to try and get them into camping, they also enjoyed themselves (and they come in handy for making a brew). Cheshire Oaks designer outlet was about 15 miles away and being with 3 women wanting to do something when it rained I was dragged along. I would certainly go back again as it's only about an hours drive from home.

We were having a look around the area of Delamere to find a site for weekends. We came upon Fishpool and boy are we glad we did!
We went last weekend (14th May). We paid by card over the phone and Joan was very friendly and helpful. Because we were arriving late we were given the codes for the toilet / showers and we arrived at 8pm onto pitch 40. The toilets and showers are straight out of five star hotel, beautifully appointed and sparkling clean, in fact, the best we have been in on a caravan site without doubt.
The site is fairly level and the grass is cut short. We had a smashing weekend and Joan was brilliant. I would urge anyone to give this site a visit, you will certainly not be sorry.
We will be spending several weekends here during the next year.
Access is good and whilst the entrance gates are a little tight, there is no problem getting in and out.

First time out with our caravan, all roads easy to navigate until you get to the famous wooden gate, we struggled a lot and had to go straight ahead to what is pitching area lucky the site was quiet. Think these wooden gates should be taken away. Reception very friendly.
We had suffered a flat before getting our van !
Pitched on 14 which is right next to dog walk gate which with our two big dogs seemed a bad idea, but all campers respectfully went behind our van to not disturb our dogs. Pitch is opposite side to the road so noise not an issue for us really.
The dog walk is only a strip of land really at the back of the site, great for small dogs, but I couldn't confidently let our Doberman Cross loose as the fence is small it just felt a bit open for me.
6* Toilets best I've seen immaculate, modern, stunning. Several loos and 2 nicely kitted out shower rooms with approx 5 sinks.
Fishpool Inn next door not impressed - were too busy to feed us outdoors as there was a field full of caravans on their land. I think doing dog training which also means the walkway from caravan park to pub is blocked off.
Walk straight up to the Abbey its so much nicer fab outdoor seating area with heating friendly helpful staff served us stunning food at 8pm would recommend highly.
Delemere is 5 min drive all sign posted.
Would return to site but you are paying £20 per night for the loos there's nothing to do on site really but would recommend.

I could just say 'absolutely wonderful' and leave it at that, but I know you want to know more - I read, as you are now, the reviews and thought it sounded good, so I rang and booked in for the following day.
We arrived, having found the site extremely easy with the large brown touring signs from the main road, and even managed to get through the gate (which is a little tight in all fairness, and a bit odd because you swap from left to right to go through the gate, but even with our 4wd and 23ft van, we managed it).
We arrived at reception paid via debit card, lots of information in reception about the local area (including the Friday night fish and chip van in the forest - well worth a 5 min car journey) and were then shown to our pitch.
Within 10 mins of arriving we had to agree with every single entry about this site, it is just fab. Lovely generally flat field, good pitch size, great electric hook up points, yes, the site is close to the road, but for the whole weekend this did not bother us one bit.
Then it was 'wee wee' time, wow, in all the sites we have stayed on, and we have been camping for 20+ years, this has to be the best toilet / shower block we have ever used. The toilets were immaculate, and it really is like a hotel rather than a campsite. We spend the weekend relaxed, managed to wind down and really cant wait to go back.
Lots of space for the kids to play, and a nice little play area for them to explore, this coupled with the geese keep them entertained for a good while. The site is also very dog friendly, and has a cracking dog walking area for them to run around.
Excellent washing up facilities, and chemical disposal point. In all fairness. The owners of the site could not have been more helpful and are really concerned that you are enjoying your stay
Proximity wise it is approx 5 mins drive into the forest, there is a local shop 2 mins away with a cashpoint, and Tarporley is approx 10 mins drive, here there is a co-op but better still go to the petrol station where there is a decent spar, this coupled with Harringtons Leisure (Camping and Caravanning Superstore) 5 mins away.
This site is now our weekend 'bolt-hole' and to coin the phrase, 'if Carlsberg made campsites' then this would be it - go, enjoy and I promise you will return, just like we will and most of the people who have already left reviews.

Just spent a fab Easter weekend here with friends and dogs. Joan lives up to her reputation and is really lovely and helpful. Site is really quiet and personal, good views to the woods. Next to a main road but it didn't bother us at all (she puts tents on the other side to minimize noise for them). Dog walk small but adequate with poo bins provided. Great location for exploring the Delamere Forest, Sandstone Trail and Chester.
Pitches are large and flat, well drained bearing in mind the rain we had all week previous to our visit.
Facilities are fabulous, look like hotel toilets with one exception - there was no hot water and the showers were cold during the whole weekend we were there. Not good! Hope the teething problems with this are sorted soon as we are returning at the end of May!
Watch out for the wooden post as you enter if you are towing, it is narrow and our friends caught it and damaged their caravan.
We really didn't want to put a review on this site because if people go we will never be able to get on it. It is a gem of a site as previously said, cant wait to return!

Booked last minute for our second time away in our caravan. What a gem of a campsite.
We'd originally tried to book an established site up the road - am I glad it couldn't accommodate us - we popped in to have a nosey and much preferred Fishpool.
If you want a site with bar/shop/entertainment then this is not the site for you. We wanted peace and quiet and the site was just what we were looking for.
Fishpool is a nicely laid out site, although some of the pitches may be a bit claustrophobic when the site is full.
The toilet block is well thought out, although you have to remember which light switch you used for the shower so you don't turn the light off on someone in the other shower. And there was no heating on in the toilet block for our visit. You need a code to get into the facilities (different codes for gents, ladies & laundry) which may be a problem if you have children but was no problem for us. We had a late arrival knock on our door to ask for the code for the loo.
Most of the pitches are flat and level, but there are some at the back that have a fair slope. There were only 3 units on site on Friday night, so the lovely owner provided us with fresh newly laid eggs - mmmmmm lovely.2 more units arrived on Saturday.
It is dog friendly and has a dog walk at the back.
There is some road noise but that didn't bother us at all, and the pub was within easy walking distance, although we did not visit it - there is a nice beer garden at the back.
We will definitely be returning.

Just returned from a fine weekend. Great weather and the first outing to air the van after the winter.
Really nice site - very clean and just literally opened after their Feb closure. Facilities spotless. Two showers in gents, although only one was working. Not a problem as only 5 vans on the site this weekend!. Pitches are flat; open field; no hedges; not sure how much room there would be if site was full as I can imagine it will be in the summer as located on edge of Delamere Forest. Laundry facilities - which we used as my 6 year decided to get covered in muck. £1.40 for a wash - bot bad.
Pub 2 mins walk. You could see it from the back window of our van. Very accessible; good roads. Wood stay again. 5 min drive to Oulton park. Beeston castle not far. £25.00 not cheap; no play area for kids. No heating in toilets/showers.
