What a lovely site - friendly staff at all times, always willing to give you help and advise about anything, clean toilet blocks although the timings of showers do NEED to be extended a little (you don't have to pay for the showers though). Country club a lovely place with entertainment if you wish to partake but we felt a little expensive on the food even though it was always a good meal when you go camping and choose to eat out, I'm sure most of us with families try to keep the cost down. Beach just a small walk with sand to sit on, sea to swim in and rocks to climb and explore. Children's play area aimed more at smaller children with no swings but there was a games room (with machines which needed money) and a play field where children could play ball games if they wished to. Freezer for ice blocks. No hair dryers but a plug if you take your own. There was no shop and you had to travel 20 miles either way for a major supermarket but the local post office came round daily with a van shop and the local butcher called in his van also. There were local 'Costcutters' and 'Spars' which were adequate for supplies. The fact that you were so far from big stores actually added to the magic of the site as it was as if you were actually quite remote just by the sea! As previous reviews have stated there were seasonal vans on site but I don't know a site who doesn't have them now. The owners weren't very 'morning' people but then we found this was generally not a 'morning' site anyway! The area is outstanding with some lovely places to visit - these include tourist attractions where you have to pay or towns/villages where you can just wander for free! All in all a lovely holiday and will be visiting this area again hopefully.

Having experienced another site this year, I'm even more impressed with comparison with Cei Bach as it was so much better, we'll be back again in 2008. The situation is perfect if windy, being on top of cliffs and looking out to sea. The site is meticulous, very well run and friendly with facilities you can only dream of on other sites. A short walk down to the beach which is almost the site's private beach, although I think a few locals also use it. As it's a family oriented site, large single-sex parties are not allowed, and there was no rowdyness when we were there. The evening entertainment can be a little loud sometimes, so if you like an early night or have small children, best to book a pitch on the edge rather than close to the buildings. The area has lots of interesting places to visit, as well as the traditional seaside; rock pools, sand and sea. An excellent site all round.

A nice campsite located not far from Newquay. Reception were helpful and friendly when we booked in. Nice pitch, quite large on a slight incline. Water available close to all pitches. Showers and toilets located at the top of the field next to the clubhouse. Showers were hot and free but you had to keep pressing the button throughout your shower to keep the water flowing, this is only a minor niggle. Clean, well kept and adequate facilities. There is no shop as we can remember, and the site is quite isolated but the clubhouse served food and drinks and provided entertainment and also had a pleasant decking area with good views. There is lots of lovely wooded areas close by which would be walk in. Nearby Newquay is a lovely place, apparently you can walk along the beach to Newquay when the tide is out. We didn't get the chance to do this as we were only there for 1 night and it rained and rained for the whole time! Whilst we were there, we saw Keira Knightly and Sienna Miller in their car as they were filming just along the road from the campsite! Overall, we would probably return again.

We have just returned from Cei Bach and can only compliment the site. The owners were extremely helpful and welcoming the site is spotless and beach access was only a five minute walk. Paul keeps the grassed area very neat and tidy. My kids enjoyed the facilities available. The surrounding area is beautiful and we will definitely return to this lovely site

A difficult site to find but worth the trouble. The directions given are pretty accurate but most of the last bit near to the site is single track and caravan/motorhome owners should be careful. The site slopes, quite a bit in some parts, but there are some level bits overlooking the sea (we had to buy cheap lilos from Newquay to level the air bed!). All the usual facilities and very helpful owners. Short walk to an immaculate beach with the chance of spotting dolphins. The sea here is pretty shallow which is ok for wading but not so good for fishing. Newquay is only a short drive away for shops although a van comes in the mornings selling papers, bacon, eggs etc. Would certainly stay again

We visited this site as part of a two centre West Wales holiday (Caerfai Bay, near St Davids, and Cei Bach near Newquay) Both sites are perched above fantastic views and are ideally sited for exploring. Here at Cei Bach the views in one direction are of the spectacular cliffs heading towards Aberaeron. In the other the view is towards Newquay. And a lot of holiday park caravans. The beach itself is far superior to the small bay at Caerfai, but the walk along the cliffs is muddy and unspectacular when compared with the Pembrokeshire coastal path. The night skies were stunning, with little light pollution to hide the stars. Newquay is a brisk walk along the beach at low tide (after crossing a stream) or a short drive by car. Newquay is a delight, even when visiting out of season. But some of the prices seemed rather high. (£40 for a takeaway meal for 2 at the local Indian!) A short drive south takes you to places such as Llangrannog, where the cliff walking is much better - and we were thrilled to see Dolphins and seals beneath us. In the other direction Aberaeron is a beautiful little hamlet - the butcher there sells the thickest cut bacon and juiciest sausages we have ever tasted :o) The welcome on the campsite was first class. The site is clean and well laid out and the amenities are good (although the showers had irritatingly short time limits on the hot water push-buttons - necessitating single-handed showering. Most of the hard-standings seem to be occupied by seasonal tourers. We arrived mid-week, so the site was fairly quiet. However, when the weekend arrived these were quickly occupied and the character of the site changed: This suddenly ceased to be a friendly site. The incoming "regulars" tended to ignore us and even blanked normal courteous greetings. We left a day earlier than intended, feeling that as tourists we were unwelcome.

I have been a regular visitor to this site for some 20 years. My problem now is if I visit another site I am always looking for the same standards. Paul the owner strives to provide a high standard for his customers and I would agree that at peak times the shower block will struggle but where does it not. The Manager of the club also strives to maintain a pleasant environment in the premises with a good standard of food and drink.
The views you will struggle to find anywhere else. There are a number of seasonal caravaners on the site who are all very friendly. If you can visit out of the high season to appreciate the unspoilt area and traffic free roads. For any Golfers it is a paradise. If you have young children it is ideal for safety as far as traffic is concerned as there is none. At low tide enjoy the coast walk to New-quay (never could remember the spelling)

This site has THE best views. A hotel with this view would cost a fortune! The site is sloping so take your levelling gear. The pub at the top of the hill has a deck where you can enjoy a beer and the sunset over the sea. Showers are always hot and clean. Staff are really helpful and friendly. The grey water and effluent is some distance away up the hill (if you are nearer the beach) so take your water trolley or prepare for a workout! The beach is close by, a short walk down a sloped road (the sea can be heard in you van at night) The pitches nearer the beach are a bit close (only enough room for caravan and awning so go for the bigger side pitches if you need the space) The pitches in the middle have the best views but are on the steepest incline.
All in all great little site, we would go back.

We chose Cei Bach for our main two week holiday. This is a fantastic site and we wouldn't hesitate to return. The location of the site is fantastic, only a short walk to the beach, which was great although a little stony in places. The rock pools are good for crabbing too, once the tide has gone out! The site is 2 miles from New Quay which has a few seaside shops, two grocery shops and a couple of pubs and restaurants. The static caravan site has a shop that sells anything that you may need, and this is only 1 mile down the road. As said on another review the main supermarkets are in Aberystwyth or Cardigan. The pub and restaurant on site are great, we ate there a couple of times and had good meals. Staff are helpful and friendly. The showers and toilets are the only thing I feel let this site down. I had to queue on a number of occasions as there are only 3 showers, which is slightly less than I expected for a site of this size and they could do with updating. They drain from the top one to the bottom one which means that the water from two of the showers drains away in the third one. This meant that the shower at the bottom of the drainage channel would get all the muck and sand from the other two. Not a nice thought! Because of this I feel that the showers should be cleaned twice a day instead of the once that they are at the moment, especially seeing as it is peak time for the site and they are full. Saying that this is the only criticism that I have and it would not put me off returning.

We arrived in New Quay at about 9.30pm on a Friday night with no where to stay. Tried several campsites (one of which the car got stuck in because it was so muddy) which were not really any good, and luckily someone directed us to Cei Bach. We were so lucky to have found it! Not that you can appreciate it much at 11 at night (well, the pub was very welcome after the long journey of course) but come the morning we were amazed at how close it was to the beach it was, and the great facilities it had. The roast meals on a Sunday are a must. I can personally reccomend the Pork but I'm sure the others are equally as good. One thing -beware the butcher in the morning! Or to put it another way - you won't be needing an alarm clock! But seriously though a great campsite.
