A lovely campsite with large open spaces for children to ride bikes and run freely, with different areas to camp in and lovely fields to walk through to the Abbey, and although it was a wet, sunny & windy weekend, the shower rooms were cleaned regularly and were ideal for a mini break.
Leiston town is a short wander with a fab chip shop, and very pleasant with pretty crocheted items in many shop windows. Aldeburgh, Thorpeness & Sizewell all a short drive away too.
We’ve had an amazing few days, thank you.

This is a lovely, well-kept campsite with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
We came last year and returned because we liked it so much.
It is in easy reach of the coast and lots of other places of interest.

Applefields is an exceptionally well run campsite. The owners work tirelessly throughout the day to ensure that the site & facilities are clean and to check that everyone is happy.
With recycling bins for glass, tins, paper and plastic, Applefields is an environmentally friendly site too.
There is plenty of room between pitches and also for children to play. If you like bird watching. RSPB Minsmere is very close, if it’s running you like, there are good 5, 10, 15 & 20km routes from the site, which can include one or all of road, field, trail and beach.
Walking from Sizewell beach, Thorpeness is a 4 mile round trip and Aldeburgh is approximately 9 miles (round trip)
Within a short drive is Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Snape, Dunwich, Minsmere, Walberswick and Southwold.
There is no children’s playground on site (we enjoyed the fact they there wasn’t) but there is plenty of space to ride bikes and explore.
Finally, this site feels very Covid safe, especially in respect of the bathroom facilities.
I thoroughly recommend Applefields to everyone.

Lovely spacious site with great facilities and a very warm and friendly welcome.
Well equipped toilets and showers, regularly cleaned. Good to see microwave, washing machine etc. Plus kitchen and a whole shelf of books and DVDs.
Loads of great walks to Aldeburgh, Southwold, Minsmere and Dunwich. Leiston itself has numerous pubs, shops etc.

Applefields is a lovely relaxed campsite. It is kept so well and the owners seem completely laid back which is refreshing compared to other camp sites.
They have an allotment on the grounds and give away some of the produce for a small price- the broad beans were delicious.
I would definitely recommend it and it is great value for money.

We love this campsite. Suzie is so welcoming and helpful.
Facilities are great and well maintained.
Site backs on to fields and a lovely walk to the nearby Abbey.
Location is great with lots to do on the Suffolk coast.

A lovely site, with great facilities and friendly and welcoming owners.
A good number of showers and toilets; never had to wait for either. Frequently cleaned too.
Not blown away by the village, but tons to do locally.

Visited as a group of six friends who had just finished university and fancied a summer holiday.
Had a great time at Applefields! Really cheap, spacious as not busy so lots of room both for the pitch and playing games.
Wooden benches littered around a massive help too.
Great washing and cleaning facilities, cleaned frequently and only had to wait once in peak times and that was only for a couple of mins!
Only let downs is the 50 minute walk to the beach which was a struggle and transport was hard as only one of us had a car so had to do multiple trips from saxmundham train station.
Cute little village has all you need for takeaways, coop is class and if they didn't have it the tesco superstore nearby in saxmundham did.
Great stay and great campsite with nice walking routes near it too, went to the park and Leiston Abbey was really nice.
Defo recommend!
