This was our first ever camping trip. (2 Adults 9Yr/7Yr Old). The site had been recommended by a friend, who stayed there 2 years ago. Firstly the weather was superb. 23 Degrees, Sunny and hardly a breath of wind. We only stayed the 1 night, but arrived at 12:00 and had the tent up within an hour (I had practised at home first). The site is on a slope, however their are numerous pitches that are level. We pitched up quite high on the site which meant it was a downhill walk to the toilet block. Not too far though. The site itself is immaculate. The facilities are spotless. The key-fob system for using the showers is excellent. Also the fob is used for access to the site. Unfortunately the shop & bar were closed, due to short staff. However that didn't effect our trip at all. The owner was very friendly and very helpful. I have read a lot of reviews about the staff being unhelpful etc. This is simply not true. People also have said that it isn't cheap. Well for £20 a night, you pay for what you get. The facilities are excellent. The grounds are kept immaculate. Easy access to the beach. SUMMARY :- This is an excellent site. Our first time, so difficult to compare, but we have booked again with 2 other family's for the end of August.

Have visited this site many times in the past. We have stayed here in tents mainly and once in a caravan. I have always found the owners and staff to be friendly and helpful. The facilities are first rate and the toilet block(s) are spotlessly clean and music is even piped in to keep you amused. The site is in a prime coastal location and can be a little breezy, but to my mind if you are prepared to camp, be prepared for a soaking and a bit of wind! The views are spectacular and the site is beautifully kept and well landscaped. The kids love the playground and having "private" access to the beach is another major plus point. We have been at busy and quieter times in the year and we have been lucky to have had mainly great weather here, apart from one horrendous storm, but we were lucky to have a sturdy tent! The site is hilly but access has been made recently to another field with a gentler slope and is purely for tents. The facilities are placed in the middle of the site so nearly all have to take a short stroll but the surroundings make this a pleasure. Spacing between sites is kept to the regulation "20 feet" rule so being overcrowded is not an issue. The shop has been cut down in size in the last year or so but again, come prepared, don't expect tesco's on a camp site! The bar is not always open due to numbers "in residence" but again, we have tended to go outside school hols where possible so the site has been quiet. When open, it is friendly and relaxed and prices are "pub standard" so no complaints. Food also has been of a good standard in previous visits. Overall I would recommend the site highly and will certainly return.

Site is an exposed position with wonderful view of the beach. Staff are very chatty and helpful unless it involves getting money off them. They insisted on no refund after our tent was demolished in winds and that was after having to pay a rebooking fee when a family member passed away and we had to move dates. If you have a static here then great, if you are planning a tourer or tent be warned that the site is very steep with no flat areas. You have to crawl over the speedbumps at 1 or 2 mph or you will crunch your car on them but I guess this means they are working properly! Toilets are quite a hike from the touring/tent field and it is a very steep return especially on the serviced pitches on the left as you come in. However the loos are clean and well kept. The site seems secure with an electronic key allowing you entry to the beach from the site which is handy.

Revisited this site and the owners have made yet more improvements since last year. You now need to leave a £10 deposit for a key and fob that will let you have free showers - just hold the key fob up to the shower - the toilet block is a clean as ever. The water for the washing up is free now as well. The key is also needed to let you through the gate at the back of the site which leads you to the beach, so the site feels much more secure. There is also a nice little walk out to the side of the site, where a wild flower meadow has been planted and this leads up to the bar / reception area, ideal for an evening stroll for a pint! - you need your key for this too! Still a lovely site, still sloping and windy - as coastal sites are, but location cannot be faulted if you want a beach 2 minutes walk down the safe footpath.

The site itself is in a beautiful location but the fields are not suited to touring either tents or vans. The static vans all had good level pitches and views across the beach. The touring field is a very long hike to the toilets and we had the misfortune to have a river running through our awning after a downpour which washed away the pegs at the front of our tent causing the flysheet to blow off and break 2 poles. The owners were completely unsympathetic and wouldn't refund our lost night. The site roads are awful for cars bottoming out on the speedbumps and I witness 1 clutch being fried as someone tried to negotiate the steep road and a speedbump. All in all stay in a static or don't bother as they only want your money!

Stayed at this campsite the last week on August, we were in a tent and were placed on the top of a very steep hill, which meant that everything kept sliding down to the bottom of the tent, even the food (to the delight of the dog) I walked with the dog to the beach down the ahem! private path! (which was used by everyone else from other sites by putting stones in the gate to keep it open) We didn't eat in the pub on site as the other people on site said it wasn't very nice, the pub was tiny too, just a few tables and chairs downstairs and a TV and a pool table upstairs. The shop on site was VERY basic and overcharged for everything, and was only open from 9am till 1pm and then 2pm till 5pm which I thought was a bit odd considering the nearest shop was approx 3 miles away. Please please drive carefully to the site as the road in is only wide enough for 1 car, I felt sorry for anybody towing a caravan. I cannot blame the camp for the weather but it rained nearly non-stop whilst we were there and the camping field looked more like a mudslide with a river running through it, we came home early as we just had enough of having to slop out the tent every morning! And all this was for £23 a night!

Well where do I start, I suppose with the positives:- 1. Its is spotlessly clean 2. Views are superb on a clear day Well that ends that bit.now for the down sides:- 1. The toilet facilities were about 1/4 of a mile away from the tent pitch down a steep hill and a bugger of walk back (got me fit) 2. The pitches are all on a gradient so everything slid off your table/cooker/BBQ and you felt like you were sliding off your bed all night 3. The on site shop's opening hours were not set for camping 9-4 not the best when you are generally up early and need supplies. 4. The on site pub was expensive and tiny with no real atmosphere to it 5. The owners didn't come across to friendly and didn't even ask if we had enjoyed our stay when we left 6. We were told that we needed 20p for the showers and then when we got there were told they had now included the hot water in the pitch price but you had to put a £10 deposit on an electronic token to get it.a little naughty if you ask me. Would I go back . The answer is no despite it being one of the cleanest I have been to it comes across as being geared up for statics and touring caravans rather than tents and the owners really need to have a personality implant.sorry but as they say the truth hurts.

We have visited this site many times, and love it! The owners are wonderful, and always remember previous campers. The shower block is fantastic, grounds immaculate. It has been awarded many accolades over the years, and they are well deserved. Its how all other sites should be measured, what more can I say? Gerard

We have just returned from 10 nights stay at this park, fantastic! were booked for 7 nights but weather was fab so stayed extra 3 nights. We camped with electric hook-up pitched at the top of the hill with gorgeous views of the bay. Showers/toilets are immaculate, no charge now but you do have to pay £10 (refundable at end of hol) for the key fob. There is also a shower/toilet block near the pub and shop which is great for us camped at the top of hill! Pub food and drinks are slightly pricey but a welcome treat at the end of the day. We found the owners welcoming and would definitely return again.

A lovely campsite that is very clean and tidy good position really Close to the beach. Showers are lovely and clean. Downsides - the pitches are really sloped the owners could be a lot friendlier and it's quite expensive seeing as you have to pay for showers. Also the restaurant seemed to be frozen food and not worth the money, drinks are quite expensive. All around a good site in a good position would visit again
