Having tried other sites in the area I have to say that I could happily live on this site and will make a point of coming back at every opportunity.
The site is clean, very quiet, very secure and is run by Chris and Jan who work extremely hard to make this site what it is. It is very well located for the main routes being 1.25 miles from the A30 at Whiddon Down. Nothing is too much trouble for Chris and Jan, you could easily find a site with everything you need but if the attitude of the owners is not good then you will be dissapointed and that is one thing you won't be at Woodland Springs. The Toilet / Shower blocks are always immaculate and site facilities are upgraded regularly. I spent 4 months here and I found the standards to be consistenly high.

With a site of this quality you might expect the price to be high but you will be pleasantly surprised, It cost me £52.50 per week for my tourer, EHU, and awning. There's a good shop on site as well. Finally, the recycling station makes Woodland Springs a very green scene.

Thank you Chris and Jan for making my stay so pleasant and for being so helpful.

I look forward to returning with Sandra and the dog, Minnie

Used site as a stop over for easy access off the A30, and I have to admit the location was good, but was rather disappointed with the facilities after reading the previous reviews, the shower / toilet block although cleanish was not really sufficient for the amount of people on site, (every time we went to use them there was a queue of 2 or more persons) and were rather shabby being of a portacabin design and well used . I hope Chris and Jan continue to develop the site in the future as we would like to return to explore Dartmoor further but would want better loos please.

Just spent 3 nights and 4 days at this site.
Had a great time and Jan and Patrick are so friendly and helpful.
The setting is lovely and the site peaceful and serene. (apart from the cow that kept everyone awake on Friday night!)
It got busy by Friday night but you would never have known as everyone kept to the time guidelines for being quiet.

Only gripe was the washing up facilities which were a bit cramped and could have done with a good brush of the roof.being a big ancraphobic didn't like all the cobwebs and "beasties" living there. There was also a leaking drain and with the heat it was a bit stinky.

we will definitely be returning next year.

This was our second camping trip and I just hope that the next campsites will live up to Woodland Springs!

We spent the first week of July there. The pitches were level and well cared for, plenty of young trees in between, spotless toilets and showers, great field to walk our dog. We were really pleased to find recycling facilities (glass, cans, cardboard, paper, even a compost bin for fruit and veg!). Above all, we were impressed by the silence and tranquillity of the site, in the evening the only sounds were those of the tent zips and in the morning we woke up to the singing of the birds.

Very friendly owners too, helpful without being intrusive. We will definately go back next time we decide to visit Dartmoor.

We have just returned from 4 wonderful days at Woodland Springs.
The peacefulness of this site hits you as soon as you enter the gates - no children - wonderful! The pitches are spacious, flat and quite private, and the surroundings are very pleasant with trees and plants that make the site a haven for birds and wildlife. We love the ethics of the site too - visitors are encouraged to recycle almost all of their waste (bins are provided).

The facilities are adequate and some of the cleanest we have used (probably due to the absence of children). Chris and Jan are very friendly and are in the process of building up the business and developing the site (it is still quite new). We can't wait to return in the future to see how it looks when the trees and plants have matured.

We would recommend this site to anyone who wants to get away from it all and recharge their batteries in lovely peaceful surroundings.

 What a find!
A lovely, peaceful, tranquil site.  No noise apart from cows mooing and birds tweeting. The park is in an ideal position about 2 miles away from the A30, but you cannot hear any road noise.  Handy for Chagford, Okehampton, Castle Drogo, and as an ideal stop off point if you were going to north coast / north Cornwall.
We were on a hardstanding pitch, pitches are surrounded by trees and shrubs which makes the site really cosy and less open, loads of space if you have a tent - you even get a picnic bench on some tent pitches.
Large dog exercise field, bridlepaths and footpaths direct from the site.
ADULTS only, which made it even more peaceful, hubby used the onsite showers etc - he said they were lovely and clean,.a little basic but adequate.
We will definitely be returning.  Ideal for those who love nature, peace and relaxation!

Stayed at this campsite with my husband and 2 dogs for a few nights - one extra to our original booking as it was so nice.  It's a very quiet, peaceful and friendly site run by lovely, helpful owners.  Tents are pitched opposite caravans but we had adequate space and reasonable privacy for our Vango Diablo 600 (6 berth dome-style tent), estate car and 2 windbreaks!

For dog owners, the exercise field (which is close to all pitches but separated by plenty of trees) is large and clean and makes taking the dogs for their last outing at night very pleasant!

Washing facilities good, clean and we never had to queue for showers although the site was almost full when we stayed.  Washing up area undercover with lighting for those who prefer not to wash up in the dark and rain. There is a recycling centre and the area seems clean and free from overflowing rubbish.  Freezer for ice blocks kept in reception and open 24 hours a day for convenience.  Water standpipes convenient for all pitches.

I was heavily pregnant when we stayed at this site and - as this is an adult only site - the only reason we won't return in the near future is because we are no longer an adult-only family! Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful friendly site in this beautiful location on the edge of Dartmoor.

A must for nature-lovers, this is an excellent site with friendly and helpful owners. Along with a warm welcome, Jan and Chris provide you with a comprehensive survival guide to the site and local facilities (from where to get caravan spares to the nearest optician). There is lots of information on things to see and do in the area. Groceries, papers, and even local sheepskin rugs are available to order and there is an ice block re-freeze service.

The site itself is peaceful and secluded with generous, well tended pitches. The pitch for our two-man tent was gently sloping and we even got our own picnic bench! The site is broken up by rows of small trees which gave the feeling of privacy. It's quiet, especially during the night - a place to really relax. The shower block is modern and spotlessly clean (good quality showers were really appreciated after a long day on the moor). Guests have the opportunity to recycle their rubbish and the site is lit by solar-powered lights at night - atmospheric as well as ecologically sound.

I thoroughly recommend the local pub, The Post Inn where guests at Woodland Springs can get a 10% discount (we ate there almost every night). It's a short hike away along a footpath then quiet country road so no need for a nominated driver!

The location is very convenient. A direct route from the rest of the country and ten minutes drive from Okehampton. Great base for exploring the moor and further afield. You get the feeling that Jan and Chris really take pride in their well presented camp site. We had wet weather but it was the thought of getting a cosy, comfy and peaceful nights sleep that kept our spirits up all week. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer.
