We visited Deers Glade for the first time this year for a long weekend. The Staff were very helpful and friendly and we could not fault the park at all.
The washing facilities were very clean and there was plenty of hot water. It was my partners first time camping and we couldn't have picked better place to go for a first timer.
We took our two dogs with us and found plenty of places to walk them. We had an amazing weekend and will definitely be going back for another stay, maybe for a little longer.

The site is very well sign posted, with brown signs on the main road. However not actually signed 'deers glade' until your on top of it.
The reception is welcoming, Christian escorted us to the non electric pitches and we had a pick of where ever we liked. We chose a place in the corner of the sight away from the pond and a rather testy pair of canada geese, but this was a bit of a mistake.
The site slopes away from the pond, and the main path to the toilet block is in between the bushes so people kept passing our tent. In future id pitch up on the other side of the field.
The site is peaceful during the day, there is a nice area for children to play, some goats the kids can feed. The site has been developed with wildlife in mind, so there are some nice areas to walk.
The bathrooms are very clean, a constant supply of hot water and never a cue for the showers. There are two wash blocks for both sides of the campsite. However toilet roll seemed to be running short on the second day so perhaps is wise to take some spare just in case.
At night the site can be a little noisy. The main road is only one field away and could be heard clearly at night. Also there is a nearby peacock that like sto make himself known. So I would suggest that if you are easily disturbed by noise take some ear plugs.
Bbq's and fires are allowed as long as they don't mark the grass.
The site allows dogs, which also caused a lot of noise. But I think this was just the dogs we were near and the owners were very apologetic.
The site locks at 11pm and has a security guard present. Although this is reassuring, not a lot seemed to be done when some other campers started playing football and hitting tents and cars with there ball.
On arrival all campers are given a booklet with local attractions. The near by chippy 'The Fish Shop' is definitely worth a visit. National trust felbrigg is not too far away and is a pleasant day out.
Over all the site is quite lovely for families and is and excellent base for north Norfolk.

We have just got back from 2 nights staying in their brand new Camping Pods - we were literally the first people in them that afternoon having only just been completed that morning! The site is lovely and very welcoming. The Pods are advertised for up to 4 adults but in my opinion that would be very snug-certainly 2 adults and perhaps 1 to 2 children. But if the weather is bad that would mean there wouldn't be enough 'living' space inside them. Having said that they were very welcoming to suggestions for improvement ranging from having little trollies to take your things from the car park down the wooden walkway to the pods, as well as having a big outside umbrella to cover the cooking area in case of rain (something they did not have but luckily the weather was glorious the time we were there!)
I cannot recommend this site enough and the camping pods are such a lovely idea for a short break away especially for a newbie camper like me! They have heating, electric and a flatscreen TV! Far more than a lot of pods around other sites spread across the UK.
We loved it so much we are back next weekend with our tent and bringing our 2 year old and dog (2 year old had chicken pox so couldn't come with us this weekend!)We are also planning to book the pods again although they get booked up quickly as most good things do! I love this place!

We just arrived back from spending 3 nights here with family. We had 4 adults and 4 children (3,7,9 and 13) This campsite is truly amazing. If you are looking for a quiet, very clean, family campsite this is the one for you! The staff are extremely polite and friendly as its a family run site.
There is a very small lake for fishing, a play area with sand pit, animal pen (goats, donkey and lambs) and plenty of space along with a lovely picnic area. The children were able to go off and play and we could keep watch from our tent.
The toilets and shower facilities were extremely clean and warm. Although the site has around 120 pitches I never had to queue to use them. There are 2 blocks and each block consisted of around 4-5 toilets, 2 showers (very warm!) and 2 cubicles with a sink and mirror as well as the sinks to wash your hands. A good hairdryer is also available free of charge!
There are washing up facilities and a laundry room which included washing machines (£1), tumble dryers and iron (with a refundable deposit). The shop stocked essentials along with some penny sweets and ice creams for the children. There are also drinking water taps situated around the site for you to use. A security guard was on site in the evening.
We found it to be really quiet, safe and very friendly overall. We have already booked again to go in June! Be aware that you do need to book well in advance as it does get busy, especially at weekends.
If you book here you definitely will not be disappointed!

This is a lovely site that we have visited many times. The toilets/shower facilities are excellent and very clean. The site staff are very friendly. They were also very helpful when we arrived on a friday night without booking and couldn't stay the next day as they were fully booked but they rang around the local area on our behalf and secured us a pitch on another site nearby.
For us the location was ok but it did seem a little bit out of the way for us considering most local attractions were a drive away rather than a walk. (once pitched we don't drive anywhere since we have a camper van)
They have cycle hire facilities on site but we managed to be there on a weekend when the hire fleet were off for a service (so check that before you book if you wish to hire a bike).
In summary it is a very impressive campsite for tents, caravans and motorhomes with friendly staff, lovely facilities and a beautiful setting for it all. The only reason we don't camp there more often is the lack of footpaths in the surrounding area that provide a good long circular walk (the dog walking routes are simply too short to entertain us for a full day)
Caravanners, tenters, families and fishermen would love this site!

Another review submitted late but as someone else has already stated, 'better late than never'.
We picked this site purely on location and ease of access and because the site we had stayed at on a previous visit to Norfolk had received some negative reviews.
We can heartily recommend this site. The owners were really friendly and helpful, they are clearly putting a lot of work into improving and maintaining a high standard of camp site. The toilet blocks are probably the second best we have used, very clean and warm.
Overall a lovely site and one we would definitely use again when we next return to Norfolk.

What a fantastic site. The people are really friendly and extremely helpful. The pitches are spacious and the facilities are extremely clean. What a wonderful way to spend a few days relaxing!
Although if you are feeling energetic there are plenty of walks to take and its only a few miles drive into Cromer if you fancy a day at the beach. Although we don't have small children, there is a small area with swings, slide and climbing frame and they can play ball.
There is a small enclosed area with goats and ducks etc. Also there is a small fishing lake. The woodland walk is a must and you will probably come across the local wild deer. We will definitely visit again.

The minute we pulled up to the entrance it had a good feeling, parked up at reception and they made us very welcome and escorted us to our site. Plenty of space around my site, the toilets are the best I have been to in a long while.
The staff could not have been more helpful, we will be back next year worth every one of their 5 stars. All though there was a lot of other caravans, tents, and motorhomes you felt that you had more than enough space not like a lot of other sites.
I had a small problem with my caravan but the staff were keen to help many thanks to all of them.

When you arrive at Deers Glade you are amazed that this little gem is hidden away so quietly by a woodland, you almost feel you have escaped civilisation. Magic!
The facilities are 'TOP CLASS' with almost a hotel on suite feel! The site doesn't seem to get to crowded either and we never had to wait to long for a shower.
Nice little pond to fish in with young kids, we have three kids and they were very happy catching the smaller fish that seemed to fly out of the water after each cast!
We loved it that much we booked straight away for 2011.Book VERY early as it gets booked quickly.

Just returned from our first visit to Deers Glade. The site felt very rural and sits in a beautiful location however it is very accessible from the A140. On arrival we were shown to our pitch by the site owner which we thought was a nice touch.
The pitch was quite big and felt very private as there was a hedge around each pitch which separates you from your neighbours (always a bonus). The shop was small but ample for a daily newspaper and the essentials ie Milk, bread etc.
The toilets and showers were always clean and the water hot when we used them and we never had to queue (I was expecting to given the previous reviews I had read prior to our visit). There is plenty of wildlife around the park in the surrounding woodland area.
The site is close to a lot of the tourist attractions around North Norfolk. The fishing lake always seemed busy although we did not use this.
The only criticism we can make about the site is the toilet/showers are fairly dark and more water points scattered around the site would be helpful (currently the water points are at either end of the park along with the toilet/showers).
All in all we had a fabulous time and we will revisit this site again.
