What a great site. Have just returned from a 6 night stay - probably our 6th/7th visit to this site. Staff fantastic and can't do enough to help, always very welcoming. Site kept very clean and tidy including pitches, bin areas and toilet/shower blocks.
Small children's play area which is far enough away from most pitches to not be a nuisance and near enough to keep an eye on the kids.
No noise policy kept to with no problems.
Fish and Chip van visits on Weds and Fri - worth it for a night off cooking!
Local area wonderful. Lovely walk from the site through woods and over fields to the beach. Beach quiet and clean and great for families. Rock pools, soft sand and sand dunes.
Alnick, Craster, Seahouses, Bamburgh, Berwick all worth visiting.
Would recommend this site to everyone.

We stayed here for a couple of nights with the intention just to relax. On arrival the wardens were fast efficient and very friendly, I would go as far to say the most pleasant on any C & CC site this year. This at the end of what must have been a very busy season, brilliant. The site is basically a very large gently sloping field with a road way running around the outside and across the middles figure of eight style. There are a few trees and bushes, more would be better. There are two facility blocks one near the top and the other right down the bottom of the site. Only the top block has chem toilet disposal.
From the top of the site you can just about see the top of Dunstanburgh castle which is only about a mile or so away and is well worth a visit. Telephone reception is poor so I was told by a neighbour was the TV reception. We went into Craster and visited the Jolly Sailor inn old fashioned and really nice pint. Lovely village. The whole area is really nice. Very relaxing site did the job.

The site was very nice, clean and well maintained. Bins emptied daily and grass mown regularly. It was quite flat on our pitch and found to be very similar across the park. The shower and toilet block was always very cleaned to a very high standard and there was always plenty of hot water - day and night. The location was perfect for access to coastal paths and many of the great places to visit in Northumberland. The shop on site has a good stock and is very useful for those forgotten items. The twice weekly visit of the Fish and Chip van is also a welcome occurrence, however we brought ours back from Seahouse and fortunately as the line for the van at the site was round the car park - all I can say is get there early. All in all a good break in very beautiful part of the country.

A great site for dogs, and the area around is lovely.
It can be very windy, if you are using an awning, I would advise trying to get one of the pitches around the perimeter, I was on a very windy corner on the open pitching area and a couple of nights, I thought we might take off!
On the whole, a very nice site.

This was our first visit to a Caravan and Camping Club site and we were not disappointed. The wardens were friendly and helpful and the facilities very clean. Despite being peak season, we never had to queue for a shower or toilet. The dog walk through the woods, eventually leading to Embleton Beach was lovely. Plenty of sniffs and an opportunity to let them off their leads for a good run.
The only downside from my daughters point of view was that the slide and climbing frame forming the majority of the play area were out of action when we arrived and remained so throughout the week. Having said that there were plenty of children to play with so it ceased to matter.
The surrounding area is stunning. The coastal road gives great sea views whilst over the other side of the A1, the outskirts of the Northumberland National Park were within easy reach. Lindisfarne and Alnwick Castle are well worth a visit, whilst Lower Newton has a great beach for children and dogs.
All in all a week was not enough. We will be back!

A wet August weekend!
Arrived late afternoon and promptly shown to our pitch (there was a choice.).
Site staff were friendly, efficient and accommodating. Allowed us to pitch a small tent next to our motorhome.
Site was flat - no need for chocks here! A good mix of motorhomes, tents and caravans. Toilets and showers very clean (the site won CCC best loo award a couple of years ago!).
Small on site shop with leaflets for local attractions. Easy access to local pubs. Cottage Inn recommended. Seahouses and Bamburgh Castle all in easy reach.
Thoroughly recommended. Would return.

I have just returned from two weeks at this site with my family (3 chidren) and will definitely return. The site was busy but well serviced with at least one wash/toilet block being available at all times which is not always the case on other sites. The staff were efficent, helpful and friendly and all the facilities very clean. The ONLY negative thing is that the staff do mow the grass most mornings first thing, which is annoying if you have had a late night or want a lazy morning but other than that, I can't fault it. I'd also echo the comment about the sat nav and using the post code will take you to the wrong place - use a map. The site is also a dead spot for some mobile phone networks (my Vodaphone had zero reception) if you have to stay in touch with the outside world. There is a very small play park for the children on site and a much larger park built in 2008 in nearby Embleton which is handy, especially as it is next to a pub! Nearest fuel is less than a mile away in Embleton and there is a small Co Op supermarket in Seahouses and a large Morrisons and huge Sainsburys in Alnwick.
The beaches in the area are stunning, especially Embleton bay, and you are spoilt for choice for castles to visit including Bamburgh and Lindesfarne. The area is crawling with National Trust sites such as Cragside House which is worth a visit.
Great area, great site just a little too early with the noisy tractor mower.

This site was recommended by a friend who has already been here 3 times this year. The staff are very friendly and polite. There are 2 toilet blocks which are very clean; they are closed a different times of day for cleaning so there are always loos available. The pitches are a good size with a mixture of tents, motorhomes and caravans some with electrical hook ups. There is a small shop on site which supplies the basics, a newspaper van comes round in the mornings and fish and chip van is there 3 evenings a week. There is a small play area for children.
The site is in a stunning location within easy reach of the beach (Embleton Bay) via a woodland walk. It is near to Dunstanburgh Castle, Embleton village and golf club, Low Newton village and Craster (walking distance). The local pubs sell good food and beer - try The Ship in Low Newton. There are plenty of footpaths and cycle routes and a boat trip from Seahouses to the Farne Islands to see the wildlife is a must. Alnwick is a short car journey away and definitely worth a visit.
One point to note is that if you put the postcode of the site into your satnav it actually takes you to a farm about 1/2 a mile away - the farmer has put a sign at the end of the lane to guide you to the right place.

Arrived for the weekend 10 July 2009 the weather forecast was for rain. But we decided to go anyway, my husband and I and our little Westie. The weather and the weekend turned out to be fantastic! One of the friendly wardens cycles down to your site with you on arrival and explains the whereabouts of all the necessary facilities etc., The site itself is beautifully maintained and all the staff without exception are really helpful, friendly and obliging! A beautiful narrow woodland walk (dog walk) takes you to wonderful walks in every direction and the scenery changes from countryside to stunning beaches. There are two toilet / shower blocks which are well maintained and the showers are lovely and hot and free! There is a fish and chip van calls twice a week apparently, we arrived on the Friday and sampled their fayre that evening and thoroughly enjoyed them. A welcome treat instead of having to trail out for a meal or cook something when you arrive. There is a small shop on site selling basics and again everyone is pleasant and helpful. Enjoyed this site so much have booked for 10 nights in September (the first available vacancies, which speaks for itself)! Would definitely recommend this site to anyone.

In short, this is an outstanding site.
Our first visit here but will definitely be back. And soon!
POSITIVES:
- Location (see below) - Very welcoming, friendly and helpful staff - Very well organised, presented and laid out - Extremely clean - Great toilet / shower facilities - Well stocked and very reasonably priced shop - No bar on site so no related noise - Very quiet site in evenings even though it was completely full and there were lots of kids
NEGATIVES:
- None!
LOCATION:
An ideal spot to discover Northumberland from. Outstanding countryside and beaches right on the doorstep.
Close to Embleton and Craster but also ideal for exploring Alnmouth & Warkworth to the south as well as Seahouses and Bamburgh not far to the north.
Stunning walks as well as cycle routes on quiet country roads abound from the campsite gates. The site is within a mile of the Northumberland Coast Path and also the Coast & Castles national cycle route.
Campsite is in a lovely, quiet, secluded spot with an abundance of birds and other wildlife in surrounding area.
FOOD / DRINK:
The lovely village of Embleton is under a mile away and although small, boasts 4 pubs and a shop.
The Greys Inn would be our recommendation for both food and drink. A good traditional pub it has very friendly staff, great atmosphere and really good, tasty food. Also served a few very well kept local real ales. For any sports fans, the pub is also the only local outlet showing satellite TV events. Cracking jukebox too! Just book ahead if you want to eat in the restaurant section. But you can just turn up and eat in the bar as long as you can get a seat!
The Sportsman Inn, despite being very inaptly named (we went in to see if they were showing the cricket but they had no TVs at all!) and despite not being the sort of place we would normally head for food or drink having modelled itself as a bistro type place, is somewhere to head for a beer on a sunny day. It has a terrace and beer garden outside and from there boasts one of the finest views you will ever enjoy a pint with, looking out to Embleton Bay and Dunstanburgh Castle and as far north as the Farnes.
