7 Families wanted to go camping in Norfolk and for some reason it was hard to find a camp site that would let more than 2 families stay together. We found Deers Glade and the family who runs this site are so friendly and helpful nothing is a problem. We got the the site and stayed on the over spill field. It was great, the toilets and shower block cleaned every 2 hours from 7am until 11pm . They had a pit fire every night which we all sat round toasting marshmellows. Plenty of room to play games. Saturday night hog roast mmmmm! and great value too. We will all return next year. Dont forget to take a net for pond dipping the kids loved it.

1st camping trip ever for us (wife and 8yr old boy) I found site lovely and toilets very clean and in good condition. Was told could pitch anywhere in field as long as 6m away from anyone else. I think we chose a pitch a little too close to geese ! he he. Lovely camp fire lit by staff and loads of wood to keep alight with a circular bench around to chat to fellow campers. Only down side was misleading on how far away from main camp it states across the road in fact its about a 10min walk and not very well sign posted on arrival to field. Main site looks better if you can get on there. But will return

Just returned from Deers glade where we stayed at Muntjac Meadow which is about 10 min walk from the main campsite.

We loved the meadow set in a lovely environment with no set pitches and a campfire every night which many of the campers would congregate around.

The first couple of nights we had the pleasure of listening to one of the other campers on acoustic guitar whilst the children toasted marshmallows.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the toilets were all kept spotlessly clean however, the toilet facilities on the meadow were far to small to accommodate the size of the campsite as were the washing up stations.

On the first day both my husband and I had cold showers as there appeared to be no hot water, we were later told if you allow a trickle of water out of the shower we would get some hot water through. So we tried this on the second morning but got a constant fluctuation in temperature between freezing cold and scolding hot - not pleasant or particularly safe - unfortunately for us we again had to opt for the cold shower.

The water at the hand wash basins was scolding hot(to hot to wash your hands in)and the water at the dish wash station was always cold.

Further to the above a group (family) arrived and felt that the rest of the camp would appreciate and possibly benefit from their taste in music - possibly liven up things. As much as we love music (as most people do), when camping consideration for your fellow campers should be paramount.

I hope the campsite resolves the situation with the hot/cold water. Sadly we will not be returning until then and this is a shame as the rest of the campsite was lovely as were the staff, but with 4 days of only cold or scolding water to wash in was enough to put us off a return visit.

Had a fantastic time here. Superb flat pitches. Our pitch was enormous!

Couldnt hear the road at night, which was lovely.

Lovely hog roast the night we arrived.

TV reception was fantastic once plugged into the 'box'.

Lots of room for cycling.

Huge swing fof kids(and adults).

Lots of very small black flies, the most we've ever come across on a campsite (had to go offsite until around 6pm every evening).

Childrens play area(except for a swing) was only

Really suited to very small children (who were very noisy).

All-in-all though, a nice site with flat pitches and nice toilet/shower blocks.

Unable to stay for as long as we would have liked due to making a late booking. However, the owners were very accommodating and did the best they could. Lovely site, excellent facilities.

Good shower/toilet block with spacious shower cubicles and plenty of hot water. Shop is adequate and newspapers available to order. Very level site and secure.

Good walks for the dog and we enjoyed watching the daily activities on the fishing lake. Very rural, no major shops in the vicinity although local garage (approx 1 mile) sells all sorts and also pub and fish and chips in same location.

Very convenient for visiting N. Norfolk coastline as well as other parts of county. Highly recommended.

Just got back from spending 4 nights at this campsite and we were very impressed.

When we arrived at the site, we were under the impression that the website had taken the full amount as on the payment screen it doesn't say how much it has authorised, this was not a problem but be aware that you don't get caught out like we did. The lady on the reception advised us to follow the one way system and her husband would show us our pitch.

The pitch was the biggest we have ever had. We had a hire an extension lead from the owners as the electrc hook up was on the next pitch to us and ours wasn't long enough (cost of £20 which is returned when we left)

The facilities were the best I had seen, no wonder it has five stars! The campsite is in the middle of a forest so there is minimum noise from the A140 the only thing I heard was the planes from Norwich Airport. Which wasn't very often.

The shop stocked little bits that you may run out of and also offered to order you a paper for an additional cost of 10p which I didn't think was too bad. Would highly recommend.

All in all we had a fantastic time and will use this as our Norfolk base for when we are visit family. Thanks for an enyjoyable stay.

This was our first visit to Deers Glade and we were not disappointed. All the staff were very welcoming and shown us to our pitch, then pointing out the facilities and walks from the site. Our pitch was a good size.

The shower/toilet blocks were always immaculate and even during the busy half term never had to queue, even though only 2 showers in each shower block. On site was a small play area and field area for the kids to play games on, and also a small enclosure with some very friendly goats in, which our kids loved to pet and feed!

One evening the site put on a Hog roast and BBQ, which was very nice and reasonably priced. There are nice walks around the site lake, and walks from the site in surrounding woodland, which was great for our dog.

The site is in the middle of nowhere but very close to Cromer and North Walsham. We had a lovely day out on the Bure Valley Railway, which goes from Alysham (10 minute drive) to Wroxam.

Deers Glade is a real gem of a site, so good we booked before we left for the same week next year, and already it was about 60%ish booked, which is a testament it self.

Our 2nd successive visit to this site and, nothing has changed much. The owners and staff work their socks off to please, the hog roast was to die for - even my 2 beagles enjoyed a taste of it (one of the ears actually !)

It truly is a credit to the owners and staff, excellent facilities, cleaned regularly and believe me,they easily pass the 'wives and girlfriends' test for the toilets. Long may the high standards continue

Just got back from Deers Glade and was very impressed with the site. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Showed us to our pitch which was lovely with nice flat ground.

It rained for the first 2 days but I was very pleased to see that the ground was not muddy at all.

The shower block was kept lovely and clean. Very quiet most of the time but it was a quiet weekend. The showers were great with plently of hot water.

Really pretty, smallish park, very well maintained with a lovely lake at the back (which we looked over) where you can fish / watch the wildlife.

We will definitely be coming back for another visit.

This was our first visit to Deers Glade and we were impressed. We got a friendly welcome and directed to the tent pitches and told we could choose where we wanted to set up! On the Saturday night when we arrived there was a hog roast at £3.50 per person which we thought was pretty good.

The site was really pretty and well maintained. It was quiet in the evenings despite it being fairly full.

We had heavy prolonged rain both nights but the ground was not sodden when we got up.

The shop looked very small at first glance but seemed to have everything you could want at very reasonable prices. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

Can't really comment on the play area as we don't have young children but the kids seemed to be enjoying it.

The shower block was modern and clean and the showers and washing up areas were excellent with plenty of free hot water.

The only negative comments I can make are that there were only 2 showers in the block we used which had to serve quite a large number of pitches. They were nearly always in use whenever I went into the block. Also as far as I could see there were only 2 drinking water tap areas (with 3 taps in each) on the whole site and these were quite a way from our pitch. I would prefer to see individual taps dotted about.

Apart from that we were impressed and would definitely stay there again.
