Great site. Good size pitches which easily accommodated our Montana 6 with canopy, gazebo, trailer, and car with room left over. Good facilities including pool, laundrette, bar, shop etc. Shower and toilet facilities could do with updating in the centre of the site as the other block nearer the shop clearly look newer and better. The beach is actually a little gritty and not quite like the golden sands in st Ives and other bays on the north side but it is so close to the site that we were on it nearly every day. There are also organised activities on site for the adults like scuba diving in the pool and laser clay pigeon shooting. We were very lucky to meet 4 very sociable neighbours who we spent most evenings with drinking under the gazebo. We hope to be able to book in again next year.

We were pitched three rows from the beach and it could be windy, even on the hottest of days. The beach is shale and not sand, so footwear is needed although this didn't spoil our enjoyment. The facilities in the toilet block closest to us were clean and tidy despite the site being busy. The restaurant serves wonderful lobster salad at the cheap price of £11. The ship inn nearby also served lovely food but beware it was difficult to find a table as they are always full! We walked the coastal path to Mevagissey, about 2 and a half miles, steep at times but the views across the sea are worth it. We were lucky enough to see Basking Sharks from the beach at the site and they made the national press the next day! Great two weeks will return one day!

What can we say , a fantastic site with a 'HUGE' sandy beach with childrens play area built on top, a great swimming pool and child pool our two year old daughter was in paradise, really quite at night (even with the world cup going on). Lovely pitches. Nice to have a take-away service on site, which meant a large pizza and a wander down to the beach to eat it. Will definitely return to this site. And next year will be better again as the club house is banning smoking!

1st visit to Cornwall so wanted a base that could do Eden project to Tintagel, Seal Sanctuary etc. Comfortably as day trips and the location fitted the bill. Opted for electrical hook up (hot weather and use of mini fridge) and pre-booked - ended up amongst a million caravans, our 2 man tent felt a bit intimidated. Well laid out pitches - loads on room for car, awning - by the look of it what ever you could imagine! Windbreakers appear to be the done thing as this camp so we felt obliged to pop to ASDA and buy a few! The toilets by the beach need refurbishing - or at least hot water and a clean. The main block was immaculate with loads of hot water and no wait. Some form of light for night time would be an advantage. The bar was OK - food average price for average standard. Beers a wee bit on the expensive side unless England were playing. Separate non smoking area in bar. Heated outdoor pool with life guard seemed popular without being packed and the small arcade proved to be entertaining. The beach was private and you could walk for miles along the coast at low tide. A good safe feeling base to explore this wonderful part of England.

Just come back after spending a week at this site, didn't want to come home! The site was amazing, right on the beach, which the children loved. The site was clean and the showers were lovely and hot. Mevagissey just a short walk along the coastal path, worth the walk, especially the harbour. The ship Inn adjacent to the site was excellent. The whole week was very relaxing. Our only gripe would be to be careful when selecting a pitch, avoid the ones right next to the toilet block 'E1' as due to the rubbish bins being there the seagulls tend to use your tent as their toilet! Will definitely be booking again next year.

Went here for bank holiday weekend at the end of May-a word of caution NEVER go to Cornwall on this bank hol it took us nearly 7 hours to get through the traffic- that weekend is Run To The Sun in Newquay so a nightmare to get to. The site was full, the fields are flat and the toilets / showers are very clean.Irons and showers are free too-something you don't find often! There is an outdoor heated pool and 3 parks sited around the site-1 next to the pub which came in very handy with our friends children! There is a burger bar serving anything from burgers, jacket potatoes to curry! The shop is very well stocked-everything you need is in there! The beach is right on the site and you can walk along it from one end of the site to the other. The only bits about the site that I did find myself commenting on was the Club house being slightly dated but it was nice and the entertainment could have been a little better-this may have been due to it being the beginning of the season though. Also mobile phones cannot pick up any signal at all-some would say that is nice but if you want to leave a number in case of emergency to family or friends I would give them the camp site number. The staff were helpful and we were even given a refund on 2 people that were paid for but unable to make it.

Had a great week here 2005 spring half term under canvas, going 'posh' this year in a static. Nice facilities and free entertainment daytime and evening for the kids if you don't want to mount expeditions around Cornwall every day. Site, beach and pool clean and well kept. Early evening kids disco & entertainment in the clubhouse went down a treat (kid friendly and relaxed though can get busy later on). Some of the later evening cabarets not really my sort of thing but we were usually heading off back put the little ones to bed by then. Waves breaking 200yds from tent is magic. Not usually a big fan of sites with 'entertainment' etc but this definitely gets the thumbs up.

Excellent Holiday ! Spoke to many campers who keep going back year after year. We are about to book again for next year.
Clean private beach, clean facilities and large pitches. Helpful staff at reception. Large shop, takeaway on site sells fish and chips, pizza, jackets, burgers etc. (bit pricey). Evening entertainment for the kids, scuba diving and snorkel lessons in the pool and sea. Playground, amusement arcade and great local pub close by - The Ship Inn (good food).
Close to fishing village of Mevagissey and St Austell town. Mc Donalds, Asda and Tesco close by.
Loads of days out in Cornwall, would recommend visting Looe, St Ives, Holywell Bay and Dairyland.

What can I say exept FANTASTIC. We had a second row pitch so we were right next to the beach. The beach was nice and clean so was the sea apart from some seaweed. The only bad point was the small toilet block could do with cleaning more often, but saying that there are 2 other toilet blocks. Will definitly book again. There is loads to do around and about so when we book again it will be for 3 weeks.

Just had 2 weeks there and loved it. 2nd row back from the beach, lovely sea view. Me, my partner and 2 kids, grandma and grandad. The pitches are Huge, plenty of room for both cars, garden/barbie area and a 4 man tent. Kids didnt even use the pirates club although it is quite good we heard. Plenty for them to do, nice and level for cycleing (took our own bikes and glad we did, around £60 to hire one for the week! We would of needed 2 for 2 weeks, £240 hire - "yikes"). Kids park on the beach and a lovely heated pool which we used for a few hours everyday. I met someone visiting for his 30th year, I found this a little unadventurous at first but now feel my visit was the first of many. Really is a top site. especially if you have a boat, the site has its own launch strip. Met some really nice people (mick, phil and tom get a special shout) who took us out fishing and let the kids have a drive of there boats, thanks guys!.
