Excellent site, flat spacious pitches, lovely walks and a super couple that run the site. No movement after 10pm and I think the entire site were in bed by then - heaven! The best nights sleep Ive had for years. Very good shop near by and great fun being entertained by the tourist barges attempting to negotiate Grindley Brook Locks. Highly recommended for a peaceful adult only weekend.

Great little site facilities good clean and tidy. Joan & Trevor plus daughter are very helpful. Will most definately visit again. Only one slight draw back the traffic from A41 can be a little noisy through the night. There are lots of good walks especially along canal towpath or if you have a cycle you can ride on the towpath all the way to Whitchurch approx 2 miles

Wonderful little site in a prime location for access into Cheshire, Shropshire and Wales (all of which we went to!). The site is well laid-out and nice and flat, with a stepped bank towards the back of the site ensuring that you're on flat ground as much as possible. Only 1/2 an hour walk up the canal bank to a lovely little pub serving good beer at Willey Moor lock - well worth a visit. Agree with what the most recent people say about the toilet and heated shower blocks - they are immaculate and a welcome facility - especially when you're in a tent! Altogether a very pleasant and well-run site.

If you are not impressed with this small campsite you never will be! From the moment you arrive and are met by the friendly owners until you leave you are made to feel most welcome. The site was wonderful and flat a lot of thought had gone in to laying the hard standings etc. Toilet block you could eat you dinner in - promise we didn't! We were actually on a working holiday and were away most of the day on very long trips and what was so nice was knowing how good the security was on the site and never had that awful dread of returning to the van wondering if everything was going to be OK. We had the fun of loosing both vents on the way up as wind so bad, had frozen gas and water (first time winter vanning!) and still had a wonderful week. The site is kept in a perfect manner by a very good owners we wish them a very good summer season.

Back to one of our favorite sites again. Excellent last time, now even better, thanks to the new toilet/shower block. As usual, nothing too much trouble for Joan & Trevor. Top rate this site.!

The perfect relax and chill site with generous and well laid out pitches. Ultra-clean facilities excellent security thanks to the live on site owners for whom nothing appears to be too much trouble. Numerous places of interest within easy reach by vehicle or on foot and a great pub (serving tasty food)just across the road. Cannot recommend it too highly and will use as frequently as we can.

This site has both good and bad points - good stuff first. Very nice location right by the canal very good for walks. Toilets and showers spotlessly clean and showers hot & free. Not a particularly quiet site due to the fact that the A41 goes right past the site and the noise from there was quite intrusive both day & night.

We had a very enjoyable few days at this site. The owners were very pleasant and extremely helpful. The site was well kept and the toilets and showers spotless. We enjoyed our walks along the canal and found the site was within easy travelling distance of many lovely towns and villages. There was an excellent pub across the road and a garage /shop next door which sold most food items. We will certainly go back again.

This is a lovely peaceful small site, The shower rooms where excellent a proper shower unit and immaculate as where the toilet's. The pitches had plenty of space and where fully serviced, as the site was right on the Llangollen Canal there where some nice walks and a good tea room about 5 minutes from the site, the pub across the road served meals and the Petrol station sold basic supplies. There was a bus stop outside the site which went into Whitchurch Town centre. If you go into Shrewsbury park at the Harlescot Park and Ride area, free parking and £1. Return to Shrewsbury town there is a good market there on a Sunday morning. In all had a lovely few day's at Canal Side, would definitely recommend this site. Will definitely return.

We can only endorse the positive comments made by others. We have had four days of relaxation, yes the entrance isn't attractive, the showers look at first glance unorthodox -but it's like having an ensuite-, but the reality is it is very clean and well cared for by a dedicated "nice" couple. Great for walking (and its mainly flat). Two minutes from local garage where you can get newspapers, provisions etc.
Pub in village, does food, and one thirty minutes down canal path but with limited opening. Plenty to see on canal path with barges moving all day and right next to the Grindley Locks with an excellent tea room/gift shop. Whitchurch a nice walk even if the town was not our cup of tea. Also handy for Ironbridge, Shrewsbury and Chester
Adult only, dog friendly, beautiful site with hook ups and reasonably priced. If in that area will return
