Just come back from a long weekend here.
What can I say.
Sat on top of a small hill with views down through the trees into the surrounding valleys. The site is fairly well sheltered with trees, but, being on top of a hill you can still catch the wind. Drainage is very good, (had quite a bit of rain while we were there, & there was no problem with standing water at all.
The toilets/showers were always spotless, (in fact the best I have seen in a good few years), Water pressure is a bit low, but always plenty of hot water.
The owners, (Dave & Jill) are really friendly & helpful.
The site is lovely & quiet, apart from a few idiots who decided to have a party at 10.30pm on sat night, which Dave quickly ended. & Dave was going round everyone the following morning to apologise for the noise. (as if it was his fault)
If you do visit this site, you must try Daves Beef cobbs on a saturday night they are excellent & only £3 each.

Wow! What a fantastic place, I did not believe it could be as good as others had said but it really is. Despite the English weather attempting to drown us on Friday night the site remained well drained and the views and general peace and quiet are worth the pitch fees alone. Both Edingley and Halam are a pleasant walk away with an excellent pub and eatery each. Dave's Beef Baps are everything they are cracked up to be and the toilet/shower blocks were always spotless. At the end of our two night stay we knew this would not be our only visit. If you like your entertainment laid on then probably not the site for you but if you just want to chill out then there is no better place to go. Rating 10 out of 10.

My boyfriend found this site on this website and booked us in initially for one night (although we liked it so much we stayed for 2!).
There are some cracking reviews here and so the main concern was that it wouldn't live up to expectations. But, no need to have worried, it did.
Its in a stunning location, with beautiful views and spacious pitches. We had a small 3 man tent and didn't need electric, but there are plenty of pitches with hook-ups/hardstanding. David (the owner) advises pre-booking if one of these is essential.
The bathrooms are beautiful, spotlessly clean and there's amazingly hot water (for free).
It was also completely quiet on the first night, which was lovely, and so relaxing (unfortunately on the 2nd night a small group decided to stay up late nattering and playing music - why do they always camp next to me???). But that's not the site's fault.
We loved it so much we've decided to go back again in a few weeks - I suspect this could become a much visited favourite!

This is the second time we have visited this tranquil and beautiful Campsite on Dave and Gill's Farm. We are relative newcomers to Camping having only been a few times before. We wanted to try out our new Cabernon Biscaya Vis a Vis. In our humble opinion both the Tent and more importantly the site is the best by a mile of anywhere that we have either visited friends who were camping, or looked around before.
It is strictly adults only so the place is very quiet and peaceful with no piercing screams or the shouting of exhuberent rug runners! No tiny people being towed around by their parents dog whilst mummy and daddy are at the club house!Heaven! Plenty of wildlife including a large Kite and more finches and song birds than you could shake a stick at. High on the brow of a large hill overlooking rolling meadows, bridleways and mature trees and hedgerows.
Spotlessly clean showers and toilet facilities. Lovely country walks in all directions, dog friendly but kept under control and cleaned up after! Electricity available, pitches on well trimmed gently sloping grass. Easy to peg down. The very friendly, but not in your face, Dave and Gill are an absolute pleasure to talk to. How on earth they find the time and energy to work the farm, look after the livestock and put a friendy face on for the guests is beyond us!
If your looking for a Club house, Karaoke, Elvis Impersonators or Bingo then this is NOT the place for you. However if fresh air, panoramic views and a bit of peace and quiet is what your after look no further. This IS the Bees Knees!

First time camping for six years.
Found the site on this web page, read the reviews and went mid-week. Rang up on the day and booked. Got a friendly welcome on arrival, got a choice of pitches.
Toilet blocks spotless, views of surrounding area out of this world.
Would recommend this site to any one wanting a peaceful break.

We love camping and we have definitely found our favourite campsite! The welcome was warm and the campsite is in a lovely location.
I could not believe how clean the facilities were! by far the best we have seen. The local pubs are friendly and its just so nice to retreat for the weekend. Cannot recommend this site enough, we are sure to be regulars!

Spent an excellent, windy weekend here and will certainly be returning. The view from the tent pitches was lovely and the welcome very friendly - we knew we would be back another time within ten minutes of arriving. Outstanding value at ten pounds a night (without electric).
The facilities - showers, loos, washing up point - are incredibly clean and there are cloths and mops for you to tidy up after yourself. The low water pressure is hardly noticeable given that the showers are actually hot. It is very quiet all day long and at night, with no unnecessary lighting either.
The local pub, The Old Reindeer in Edingley, serves great food and drink, including several vegetarian options. The next village over has a Spar and Co-op and you are close to the bigger town of Southwell with plenty of shops and cafes and a market on Saturdays.

This site was everything that it was cracked up to be.
Good facilities plenty of hot water.
Plenty of space for camper van and unruly awning.
Made to feel very welcome by Jill and David.
Wonderful beef bap on Saturday night, served by David sporting a very snazzy stripey apron.
Bela dog enjoyed her time there also.

Just came back from our first camping trip here and have to say, we are hooked! We had a fantastic weekend. The place was beautiful, set at the top of a hill overlooking fields in the distance. Although we were only 30 mins from home, we felt like we had travelled miles away to places undiscovered. All the local villages are beautiful picturesque villages (even had red phone boxes), lovely little local pubs, and Southwell, which is only a couple of miles away, was absolutely gorgeous. Well worth a stroll round. Definitely a site to stay on if you like nice places to visit. There are so many lovely places within a short drive. As for the site itself, the owners are friendly, and are on site a lot of the time if you need them, they are only too happy to help. Alot of the campers all seemed to know them, as they all told us they come back here again and again on a regular basis, as they love it so much. The shower/toilet blocks were exceptionally clean. As other reviews state, the water pressure is not very good, but the water is boiling hot, all day long. The main thing we liked about this site was the fact that all the other campers were so friendly and considerate. No noise at all late at night, or early in the morning. We were concerned as we were taking our puppy for her first camping trip, and a little concerned that she may make a noise, but she was exceptionally behaved, as were all the other dogs on the site (and there were a lot of them, surprisingly enough). The only down side I could give was the local pub, the Reindeer, in that the drinks seemed a little expensive, almost £5 for a pint of Guinness and a lime and lemon. But otherwise, would recommend this site to anybody looking for a peaceful, relaxing, and welcoming site. Thumbs up!

Stayed here for just one night midweek & was really impressed with the location & facilities. The pitches are well laid out with nicely cut grass & electric hook-ups. The toilet/shower block are first class. Being up on a hill you get really good views of the surrounding countryside. Enjoyed a really beautiful sunset, quite a rare thing this summer. It takes around 20 mins to walk to the Old Reindeer pub down in the village. Slightly longer on return journey going back up the hill. Southwell is approximately 10 mins drive away and would also recommend the 'Southwell Fish Bar' in the town centre. The Southwell Trail is also nearby, which follows the route of the disused Mansfield/Southwell branch railway, good for walking or cycling. Would definitely come to this site again.
