This was our second stay at red bank farm.
Its a lovely place to stay the only problem this time was the rain the field was very boggy as it rained none stop for 2 days everywhere was flooded.
Because of the rain the toilets was very busy with people coming and going and the line of people waiting for the shower was aprox 30mins as they only have 2 in the ladies which are so very very basic but you can cope for a couple of days.
What more can you ask for at £4 each per night.
We will keep going back its great for being so close to the beach and having all the animals around its a great place to be.

We visited here first bank holiday May (2007). It was a tad cold and windy but remained sunny and dry until the early hours of Saturday night when the heavens opened and the wind was so bad that many people packed up and left!
There are 2 very large fields to camp in , the first field has views of the sea but would be a little exposed and gets windy and the field below is still open and exposed but is a little less windy. We stayed on the 2nd field and although was a little windy in general that day and also has a gently slope it was fine with loads of room and so we didn't feel squashed from the other tent pitched right next to next to us . We had no problems pegging down into the ground.
The farm is delightful - it is a real working farm and you can go and see the farmer milk his cows and even help feed some of the milk to the little calf's/ lambs!. There are chickens just wandering around the site which delighted the children no end!
The shower block is adequate but need a bit of a update. But hey that's camping!
All in all, we would go back again as the views were wonderful and we spent the evening after tea on the beach collecting stones and shells (beware of sinking sand!) which was just lovely.

Just got back from a Friday to Monday stay here at Red Bank Farm.
We tried to follow everyone's advice and pitch in the lower field, without success. Looks like everyone had the same idea.
Eventually we found a spot on the upper field in the top corner sheltered on both sides by the hedge. The fields do slope, and there aren't too many places where it is flat.
We managed to get pitched without too many problems even though it was raining quite heavily. About an hour later the wind hit the open field and boy did we know about it. As you're right next to the beach the wind never really goes away, just died down a bit then picked back up when the tide came in (usually around 2am). This made getting a good nights sleep impossible, for me anyway.
The facilites are basic, just 2 showers in the ladies and 2 washing up spots. As the site was pretty full it did mean queuing at busy times.
The cafe on site looked great, but a little expensive so we didn't eat there. The pets corner was sweet and the farm cats very friendly too!
All in all a great site for the price, basic, but what do you expect for £8 per night?

If your looking for peace and quiet to chill out in the countryside this is the place to go, two good sized fields with unmarked pitches, the bottom field is on quite a slope but the two sides of it are reasonably level, I would say that a good set of pegs will be needed as it does get windy being right on the coast.
The toilet/shower block is clean and functional with only one shower in the male side, not sure about the ladies as I didn't fancy arrest.
There is a well appointed cafe where the reception is if you fancy someone else cooking your lunch although we didn't use it on this occasion
Can't say much about the area as we only left the site once to go to Tesco which is a couple of miles away in Carnforth

We went for the weekend Friday to Sunday 2 adults and a tent.
This was the first time we had stayed there.
We was on the 1st camp site as there are two fields you can choose from.
We just booked in at reception with mark the owner and he said just set up where ever you want.
It was busy and a lot of fellow campers we spoke two came regular because of its laid back approach.
The site is lovely with farm animals to can see in pens the children around the site seemed to really enjoy it.
It has a cafe serving good quality food and drinks.
The site is facing the beach so ideal for walking and strolling about.
The down side to the site is the toilet and showers they are the most basic set up that you could possibly imagine.
They are just in like an old out building with corrugated roof and concrete floor.
There are spiders, cob webs and beetles they are not the cleanest so be prepared.
The lighting is very poor at night. The showers are just a pipe spraying water out you cant change the temperature or anything its like a trickling hose pipe.
That is the main problem its the toilets and showers but if your not worried about that than am sure you will love the location and the site.

The owners were really friendly and welcoming. The children loved the pets corner, watching the cows being milked and the chickens roaming around the site. The shower and toilet facilities were cleaned regularly and very adequate, the water was very warm.
The cafe/restaurant looked really nice, they did sell fresh meat but did not sell milk or bread but there was a supermarket 10 minutes away, which was fine. The site is safe for children and everyone we came across was really friendly.
We really enjoyed our first camping experience and will definitely stay again.
The only thing that we would want to see added would be a playground for the children.

This is our second visit to the farm, we love everything about it. The relaxing atmosphere and warm welcome as soon as you arrive. We have both times managed to have electric hook up even though there are only 4, so you need to book in advance if you require this facility, we have been both times towards the bottom of the field, which has been a brill spot especially this time cause we took friends with us so we had all the bottom corner to ourselves. We have kids which are 3, 7, 13 and 16, who all love the site, they love watching the cows be milked, feeding them through the fence, and also going down to the farm corner were there a few more animals. The toilet blocks are spotless and cleaned very regular, the womens showers could do with speeding up but are ok.
The location of the farm is brill rite on the beach, were you can enjoy a nice stroll.
The views at night are tremendous, we got some lovely pics.
The staff are lovely, and the cafe is very nice.
There is a tesco just 5 mins down the road in a car, and morcome is 10 mins away by car were there is a nice beach and little park on the front for the kids.
Back to the site, the big open camping field is brill for the kids to run freely. Just getting our dates together to book again asap, would highly recommend BRILL!

We visited this site for the weekend to trial our new tent (Outwell Nevada XL which is brilliant by the way!).
When we arrived it was pouring with rain but we decided to pitch anyway. The site is part of a farm and there are two large fields that you can pitch in, we were told we could pitch wherever we wanted so I was guided by previous reviews that said the lower field was more sheltered. The grass had been freshly cut and we pitched in no time. We have a 2 year old and an 11 year old and both of them loved charging about in the open space.
The toliets and showers are very basic but sufficient for a weekend and were kept clean. It was amusing to have a shower whilst listening to the calves mooing in the little farm area where you are welcome to have a look round and stroke the animals which my little girl loved.
There is a cafe which looked very nice but we didn't use it, and the staff seemed friendly.
The site seemed to have mainly families on when we were there but would suit everyone. It was good value at £15 per night for 3 adults, 2 children and 2 cars. We would definitely return to this site for future weekends away.

This was our first trip as a family on May day Bank Holiday weekend.
We arrived on a very busy Saturday and were told to pitch where we could find a space so headed for the upper field. It felt very open. Good area for the kids to play in.
Good dishwashing area, if a little small (but then it was busy!) and the loos were kept clean with cleaning taking place at least 3 times a day.
At the top end of the field it is quite a walk with water and also a long walk to the loos!.
Even late Saturday it didn't feel too crowded. Much of the centre of the upper field also had tents in it but there was still plenty of space for children to play.
However on Saturday night a late storm hit the campsite. We moved all our loose belongings inside and slept. But during the night we reckon about 75% of the tents had left and many still showed some damage. The lower field fared a lot better being better sheltered.
No damage to our tent apart from a sprung pole but we decided to call it quits. Needless to say my husband had no problem getting hot water for his shower, or me for our breakfast dishes as there was no one left!
That morning we took our sons on a small tour of the animals before we left which they really enjoyed.
We would be happy to use this campsite again. Although the facilities are basic it is in a great location and very clean.
