Just returned from a very enjoyable weekend camping at Deers Glade.
Although the site was almost full we were allocated a large pitch, made better by the fact that we have only a small tent ! We were shown alternative pitches by the very helpful and friendly staff and picked our spot a short walk from the shower block.
Having read the reviews of this great site I doubt I can add much that hasn't already been said, however I would like to endorse the following points:-
Showers / Toilets:- spotlessly clean and modern. Never had to queue even though the site was almost full. Yes, the lighting is dim but I wasn't planning on reading war and peace in there anyway !
Staff:- Couldn't do enough to help and were always available during the stated hours. I asked about a good pub to eat and was recommended 'The Banningham Crown' which was excellent, and so I'd like to pass on that recommendation here.
Location:- Beautifully kept and well laid out. Noise was kept to a minimum during our stay and was very relaxing. Enjoyed the walks through the woods and even spotted a small dear peeking at us through the undergrowth.
All in all a lovely site that we will be looking to return to very soon !

Coming towards the entrance you are greeted by a tunnel of trees. On arriving at reception we were greeted and shown to our pitch. The first thing that springs to mind is there are a lot of caravans on site. The pitch is large and there There is no bar on site, the reception does various items like papers, milk, eggs etc.
The toilet blocks are clean and never appear busy. There is 2 showers per block there are 2 shower/toilet blocks on the site but I never had to wait. Hubby said similar to his block.
All the normal facilities like waste water, chemical waste etc are in good working order.
The site itself has a lake that holds fish. There is a charge for fishing but lake always looked busy with fishermen/women. In the centre of the site is a large area that children play or adults try to play various games. They cater for dogs here. Various walks available to wear out the most energetic dog.If you are a walker or cyclist then this is the place for you. The nearest pub is the Alby on the A140. The Crown at Banningham is far better. You will have to drive or catch a taxi.
The site is very quiet. There are no buses to my knowledge. If you want a very peaceful relaxing couple of days then this is the place to come. There is wi-fi access at a small charge. The gates are locked at 11pm and reopened at 7am.

Fantastic campsite, (once we had negotiated all the roundabouts around Norwich!).The signage on arrival could have been better. Completely enjoyed our stay and found the layout / location of the kids play area to be well thought out. Also enjoyed the dog walks that were available starting with those on the campsite.
The facilities and staff were great.
The booking initially was a bit frustrating as I tried to do it online and it isn't fully automatic. But hey well worth a visit and we will return.

A lovely peaceful campsite located near Cromer, next to woodland and a fishing lake, which was ideal for walks in the evenings.
There is a shop and the facilities are very modern and the very friendly staff were always available on site.
The two shower blocks were spotlessly clean and so were the washing up areas with plenty of sinks to use.
A nice touch was the addition of family shower rooms which we found very useful and there was always plenty of hot water.
A highly recommended campsite with a children's play area and idealy located for trips to Cromer, Holt and Sheringham.

It was coming up to our 6th anniversary and decided to have a camping holiday. After looking at different camping websites we came across Deers Glade. We were in the area and thought we would pop in to see what it was like as I am very fussy when it comes to shower blocks etc.W e were both pleasantly surprised at how well kept the site is compared to others we have stayed on.We booked there and then.
We stayed for 5 nights in a tent with electric right next to the lake (so he could fish and I could sunbathe) The onsite wardens were really nice and welcoming and our dog Ruby had a holiday romance with their dog. The site is so peaceful (no traffic noise)
We were asked if we wanted a newspaper in the morning and they sold basics like milk, bread, drinks & camping equipment.
The toilets/shower blocks were immaculate and I never once queued for a shower. Noticed a few people commented on the lighting in the shower block but I didn't see any problem, seemed fine to me. There were nice woodland walks and a fenced field especially for the dogs so they can have a run around off the lead.We definitely picked the right week as the weather was brilliant. We didn't even leave the site.If you like peace and quiet then this site is for you.We definitely recommend Deers Glade as it is one of the nicest sites we have ever stayed on.

We stayed at this site for three nights following on from other's reviews, and I can say we were not disappointed. We were greeted on arrival and shown to our pitch and was informed that there was a wardens caravan on site that was available at any time, very reassuring when you have young children. Our pitch was very level and close to the shower/toilet block, but far enough away so that any noise was kept to a minimum. The facilities were adequate, the shop keeps very basic items, but be aware that it closes at 18.30. The shower block I would agree with all previous reviews they are the cleanest that I have seen on a camp site, and I also can confirm that they did get cleaned after midnight and throughout the day.
They do have a children's playground area, and our seven year old boy, spent a lot of time using the climbing frame and playing with the other children, due to the remoteness/secure feeling of the site, we did not feel we had to keep constant eye on him whilst playing like some other sites we have visited in the past, which was reassuring.
The site is situated approx 4 miles south of Cromer, so not a long drive to a few shops, but again, we were suprised that the fish and chips shops close around 21.00. There is a Morrisons in Cromer, but we decided to use the Tesco's Extra in Norwich, which was 30 mins drive away, there is also an Asda on the outskirts of Norwich, so shopping is not a problem.
The only critism that could be made against the site, as already mentioned by others is the lack of additional lighting in the shower area, it was managable during daylight, but seeing how dim the cubicles were at 22.00 when people were using them, I wonder how they managed.
If you are after a quiet no frills i.e. Takeaway's, games arcade site with nice surroundings, clean facilities and very helpful staff, you cannot go wrong with this site.
We had not visited this part of the UK before and was concerned about what we could do/visit, but the site was an absoloute pleasure and we will be using it again, even just for a long weekend.

We stayed at Deers Glade over the first May bank holiday and despite us getting the booking badly wrong and arriving at 9pm on Friday night they were very friendly, accommodating and were able to give use a spacious pitch next to the fishing lakes for our tent (without electric).
Our first thoughts were that the campsite was very busy as it had 125 pitches on a bank holiday weekend. However the facilities were always available and there was plenty of hot water. This is a proper campsite and not just a field as with many other sites.
The site is surrounded by woodland and has lovely forest walks straight from the site. There is a pub which we understood was in walking distance although we spent all of our evenings on site.
The facilities are the best we have seen in the UK, they are nicely tiled with proper rain showers and there has clearly been a lot of money spent on the site. The views over the fishing ponds were lovely.
The only negatives I can think of was that our pitch was between both sets of facilities so we had to walk a distance to collect water. Also they could do with another light in the shower cubicles. It was also slightly more expensive than we typically pay but better value. You will tell from the scale of these points that this is a fantastic site and there is very little to complain about.

We went on the Easter Bank Holiday and arrived at the site a little early, which was no problem at all and we could have arrived a couple of hours early without problem.
Upon arrival, we were accompanied to the area for tent pitches and when we asked to pitch in a different area (nearer to the lake and in view of the play area) this was no issue either. Staff were all very helpful.
Being the bank holiday, typically it rained on Saturday, but the ground remained firm and we didn't experience any drainage issues.
Our kids (6 & 4) spent all their time in the play area, the big swing was a huge hit with all the kids and there was enough open space for the kids to play some football as well. Also, a note worthy point. We didn't see any naughty or malicious kids and they all played nicely, how refreshing.
The toilets were immaculate and are cleaned twice daily, there are 2 blocks so when one is being cleaned simply use the other block. That said, they don't clean them at inconvenient times, I woke up in the dead of the night and went to the lav at about 2am and management were cleaning the gents as I went in. Thats some real devotion and effort, well done, I was gobsmacked.
I think there are 2 showers in each block (well 4, 2 gents, 2 ladies) I never saw a queue longer than 2 deep for a shower.
The fishing lake was good too, I chucked one rod out for carp and had 11lb and 7lb commons on boilie. With the other rod on float and took plenty of small roach on maggot, then as soon as I switched to worm, loads of small perch, I saw someone else take a decent tench out.
On Easter Sunday the management organised an Easter egg hunt activity which drew all the kids off site for an hour or so.
There is a good walk straight from site into woodland, with a stream winding through which was nice. But we kept the dog on lead so he didn't dive straight in.
Speaking of which, we've never been to a site with so many dogs (all well behaved and on lead), it was nice to see such a dog friendly site.
Locally there is a chip shop, which was very reasonably priced (1 Haddock, 2 x large chips, 3 x saveloys came to about £7). There is also a pub with Chinese restaurant and takeaway. Be warned. It's not like a normal takeaway where you can just turn up. I did that and was told there was a 45 - 60 minute wait, so I bailed and went to the chippy. You can telephone orders in for collection though, had I known that, I would have done so, the restaurant was packed so it obviously has a good rep.
Also, the Petrol Station Spar shop is very well stocked and managed, not at all like your normal petrol station mini-super markets.
A very good site, really well managed, we will definitely go back.

What a lovely site. Very helpful friendly staff. Warm clean toilets and showers which compared to our usual site were luxurious. The children enjoyed the fishing and made lots of friends. Only criticism would be not everyone obeyed the noise after 11pm rule. Not the sites fault. The pitches are divided by newly planted shrubs which made the walk round a bit longer than necessary. The small shop had all you needed. Overall 10/10 would definitely go back.

Went to Deer’s Glade for a short break, a very nice site although there are a few areas where improvements could make it a great site.
On arrival we were welcomed by Heather (one of the park owners) in the reception and after checking in were guided to our pitch. We were on pitch 59 with electricity and were bang in the middle of the site which meant a short walk to the toilet block whichever one we went to. Our pitch was level although a bit bumpy in places which isn’t a problem. There’s plenty of space for a large tent, we took our Gelert Utah 4+4 and we pitched it on our Montana 6 footprint with room to spare, you can also park your car on the pitch.
The toilet/shower blocks were warm and clean during our stay which is a bonus as some sites don’t heat their blocks out of season. The hot water was hot, too hot for me but you can adjust it and the heated floor was nice for your feet after you’ve had a shower. There were only 2 showers, 2 urinals and 2 toilets in the gents and 2 showers and 2 toilets in the ladies in one of the blocks, the other shower/toilet block was closed with the exception of the family room. Around the back there is a laundry room with washing and drying machines with ironing facilities. At one end of both blocks is fresh water and waste water area and the other side is the general rubbish area, there are recycling facilities near the site entrance/exit.
As we visited the site in low season the site was peaceful and facilities were plentiful
All in all it is a nice site and if in the area again would definitely visit Deer’s Glade
