I have stayed a few times at this site. It's the only place I now go and I try to get at least one week every month. The area is so peaceful and quiet, with the only thing heard are songbirds. The pitches are generously sized to allow for plenty of privacy. The area is very clean, tidy and very well kept. You are always made very welcome. The site itself is fairly well secluded with a private footpath through the farm-owned fields, through which you can stroll into the village. The site sits atop a hill which allows for amazing views across the country. Its an ideal retreat for anybody wanting some quality quiet relaxing time away. I have another break already booked for June. The facilities include A new Shower and toilet block (which is nice and warm on cool mornings), Electricity hook-ups, Fresh water, Elsan Waste Disposal Point, A fridge for Camping use, Fresh Home-Made Ice-cream and Roast Beef Cobs (an Honesty Box is provided). There is also a summer house that sits privately and secluded at the top of the field, which allows you to spend some quite reflecting time. I really can't recommend this place enough.

Stayed at New Hall Farm in mid-May for two nights. Welcome pack given to guests on arrival with useful info re site and things to do in the area. Unfortunately we didn’t stay on a Saturday night so didn’t have the opportunity to try the beef baps that others have said are so excellent, will have to stay on a Saturday night some time soon. Pitches good and large enough, site clean and well maintained. Toilets/shower block - very clean, always plenty of hot water, showers free an, although the water pressure was low felt this was adequate. No hairdryer available (I should have read the review more carefully) although there are plug sockets in the shower block that you can use if you bring your own, alternatively you could just use the hand dryers which I did. Dave and Jill were very friendly and approachable who were regularly seen on site to offer any advice you might need and to have a chat. The Old Reindeer pub is within walking distance (down the fields and, although uphill on return journey, only about 25 minutes walk but make sure you follow the directions on the way down as we didn’t and ended up well out of our way). Pub is open all day and food there is excellent, reasonably priced and would recommend, also good choice of beer and wine available. Ran out of gas whilst we were there and, although no gas kept on site, there is a stockist in nearby Southwell (three miles) which is easy to find. Would certainly recommend this site and we will definitely return.

We have just come back from a weekend at New Hall, and I cannot wait to go back again.(have already booked to go for a week in September) The Place is lovely and quiet, with great views all round. The Shower Blocks are spotless (their is a problem with pressure in the showers, but they do explain that in the welcome pack) Everyone gets welcomed as soon as they arrive, and filled in with any information they might need. David as Jill are superb owners, who cannot do enough to help.if you go, please make sure you put in an order for the Beef rolls on a Saturday night. Mmm yummy! There are plenty of walks to go on, (which sadly we could not do due to the weather).but plenty of places to visit, try the "workhouse" just past Southwall.its very interesting. There is a pub in the Village (can't remember the name) but its about 20 mins walk away.they do a very nice Sunday Lunch, and if you like Fish and Chips, they do the biggest portion I have ever seen! All in all this is one of the best campsites I have been on, with a real homely atmosphere.

What a lovely site. It was only 45 minutes from our home in the city but we could have been anywhere. Peaceful, tranquil and beautiful views. There is also a lot to see in the surrounding area. We were happy to just sit in our chairs and enjoy the quiet but next time we go we're going to make the most of all the attractions included in the welcome pack (see below) The site owners (and their boys - despite being Nottm Forest fans) were lovely and couldn't do more to help. The welcome pack was really handy and we made the most of the walk maps with our three dogs. We went on Bank Holiday weekend, the site was full but not over crowded and despite the fact there were 25 caravans and six tents the shower blocks never got busy and the water was always hot - no matter what time of day you had one. The water pressure was rubbish, and they're honest about that, but I'd rather have a slow hot shower than a cold fast one any day. I also particularly liked the notice board with information on the cows and the farm (three sets of twins born this week, 3rd prize at county show). It was very cute and would give you something to read IF there was ever a queue for the loo) Instead of being all militant about our dogs and saying, "We want to put you here because your dogs might irritate other people" they said "We thought down there might be good for you because there's more space and you can exercise them in the bottom field." It probably means the same thing but it meant a lot to us! This to me was a campsite run by campers. All the things you might want or need to know were there, there was even a sign with directions to the pub! And if you have the beef cobs, have them with nothing on (no mustard or horseradish) because the beef is so good it tastes great on it's own, and is worth tasting.

This is the second time my partner and I have stayed at this site, having stayed for the first time last summer (06). We found this visit nearly a year later to be just as enjoyable. In fact this time we brought two friends with us who were equally impressed and will probably return, we definitely will! The campsite is a small site located on a ridge with panoramic views across farmland all round. The campsite owners are welcoming and appear round and about the site during the day and always happy to chat. The atmosphere of the site is relaxed, friendly and quiet. All being well the most noise will be the dawn chorus! Like others we particularly enjoy sitting in the summer house over looking a pasture field, with views over the rolling landscape, to watch the sunset. The facilities here are very well maintained and faultlessly clean. My only criticism of the site is the lack of water pressure to the showers, although they never run out of hot water. This year we pitched in the lower field which had recently had an area of pasture grass cleared so the ground was a little rough but perfectly adequate. The owners were kind enough to offer a reduction in rate. There is now a expansion with a levelled and seeded area, which if rains arrive, will provide additional quality grass to camp on. If it matches the grass on the already developed site then it will put most lawns to shame! The location of the site provided us with easy access to various attractions. We cycled around Clumber Park, which I'd highly recommend. Also visited were Sherwood Forest and Sherwood Pines which offer good walks and cycle routes. I look forward to the next visit.

Nice quite site, with outstanding views, excellent shower blocks, and the best beef baps you will ever taste, the ice cream is also worth trying. The owners Dave and Jill are lovely people who can't do enough for you, although this is a relatively new site (only a couple of seasons) it is certainly heading in the right direction.

Just spent a long weekend here and it was superb. A bit cold at this time of year in a tent but we all really enjoyed it and our 4 season sleeping bags proved to be a good purchase! A beautiful location, facilities very clean, close enough to local shops and a pub etc but feel like your in the absolute middle of nowhere, fields as far as the eye can see. Owners were extremely welcoming and friendly and we just felt so relaxed that we feel we have been away for about a month rather than 2 nights! If you get the chance then visit this site. I cant actually think of anything else to say about it because its just a top notch site. Loved it, thanks, we will definitely see you again soon, probably when its warmed up a degree or two! Cheers, Ollie.

If you want a totally relaxing quiet break then this is the place for you. The views are fantastic from wherever you are on this site. Owners very friendly and accommodating. Toilet and shower blocks spotless (not alot of water pressure but they're working on that). You must try the beef sandwiches on Saturday nights they're delicious. We went and the weather was good but I can imagine it will get a little chilly in the winter months. We've stopped on quite a few sites in the last 14 months and this has to be the best so far, for us anyway.

Well, what a wonderful site.
The views were panoramic, and silent, other than the neighboring campers (adults only), and the many birds tweeting. A few biplanes and a couple of jets to keep the skyline interesting. The toilets were nice and clean 2 showers, as said before huge, 3 wash basins in each, 3 toilets for the ladies and 2 for the gents with 2 urinals. It is a sloping site, we were able to level the trailer tent with some help of a couple of bricks (it's not as amenable as a Caravan), there are some more level pitches for tents, now one would have a problem.
David and Jill were both extremely friendly, managing to run a 300 acre farm between them, but always had time for their visitors.
We like to leave the car and go off walking with our dog, and a perfect place for that, a great 7 mile walk, 8 if you get lost like us! on part of the Robin Hood trail, across fields and on bridal/green lanes, not much road walking. There are loads of footpath signs from the campsite, and the pub is only 1 mile away, up hill on the way back.
We are going to get an OS Map and return as soon as possible in the new year to explore all the other walks around the area (all packed up for the winter now).
This site is a MUST to visit, but book in advance, this was the first weekend since April they had an available pitch and I can understand why. ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!

Having camped for many years, so we are particularly fussy regarding the sites we visit - we read other peoples reviews and decided to try newhall farm - we were not disappointed - the views are fantastic and the sight is off the beaten track - beautiful countryside and excellent showers/loos very clean and modern with electric hook up - fantastic - the shops are a few miles away and were great for the usual bits and pieces, We would thoroughly recommend it if you want peace and quiet, well spaced pitches and perfect hosts. The fish and chips in Southwell are super - the cod is like a whale and would be plenty for two. We used the site as a base as we wanted to shop at Nottingham and also visit Ikea - with a map there was no problem - we found everything well signposted. We will be returning again soon.
