I don't know what misschapman and COYI are moaning about!
I first stayed here in May '08 and returned in August '08 . And yes it did flood somewhat, but lets be honest, it was torrential rain for hours and, for the record, the owners were concerned at the amount of surface water that ran through the site.
The shower blocks were clean, warm and more than adequate . And there's a mop placed conveniently for those who can be botherd to mop up after themselves!
The owners were friendly and very helpful, even showing us to our pitch and offering to move us if we weren't satisfied (owing to the fact that the pitch I used in August had been occupied by a large caravan and awning)
As I arrived early, they let us leave our trailer on site while we went off to get supplies etc.
I like this site, but you have to take account of where it is and what the owners are trying to achieve . An environmentally friendly site, which I feel says a lot about them.
If I rated the site out of ten, definitely a nine!

Think it's all been said! An excellent site with first class facilities! If the showers had just one more hook they would be the PERFECT showers! Lovely walks, and within easy distance of local attractions etc. There was plenty of information of places to visit in reception. The owners very helpful, think they even arranged the lovely weather whilst we were there! There had been plenty of rain prior to our stay, but the paths to the toilet blocks were topped with bark so weren't muddy.
We will return!

Great place to stay if you are like me, 1 adult, 2 dogs. I was staying in a tent along side my friends who have 2 small boys. The open nature of the site is not for everyone but it did help us keep an eye on the 20 month old terror.
The facilities were great, warm floor to step onto after a shower, better than home. It also helped to have use of a microwave to sterilise the baby's bottles.
Down side for my friends was not having a tub to bath the babies in.
All in, a good week spent with very good side pitches.

This has to be one of the best sites I have ever been to the site is well maintained the toilets and showers are spotless and the staff are so obliging I think it speaks for itself in so much as I am now a regular visitor and will remain so,the site has much to offer woodland walks fishing from a well stocked lake now has wifi and digital ariel hook up well laid out with space between units so you do not feel hemmed in even when the site is at capacity

My first ever camping trip in a very old tent - me & my son - we pitched on Muntjac Meadow. Lovely site - I loved being able to choose where to pitch the tent. Staff brilliant - very friendly & helpful. Washrooms & showers cleaned very regularly and considering how wet & muddy it was during our stay, the staff kept them really clean. The campfire each evening was a real bonus - as was the free transport to the local pub every night - a nice touch. I did not go onto the main site at all after booking in so can't comment on that but Muntjac was fantastic - will return again I'm sure.

I am inclined to agree with member COYI on this one.
The site is in a nice location and has moderm wash/toilet/shower facilities though totally inadequate for the ammout of pitches and persons on site. They are kept clean but due to the overall issue with drainage etc they do not stay clean for long.
In the main its a quiet location and close to the seaside towns as such would prove handy to keep children amused and days out. There is little for them to do on site. Pubs are very close and there is lovly Fish and Chip shop in Roughton Village 5* chippy for sure.
The well stocked lake, many people fishing had not caught a single thing for a whole week. Its also poorly managed and maintained. It is also frequented by local youths some of which are not there to fish at all. You may have booked the site because you like to fish, however be warned, many people fishing are on day ticket only and not holiday makers and there is then no room for others to fish it has a small number of pegs so get there early if you want a spot!
The site is very poorly drained and ends up looking like a mud patch not very comftable at all and very unattractive. Tents placed to close together and no supervision either in respect of pitching and distances between each tent and caravan, very crammed in and even on some pitches there were caravans and tents on the same pitch! this also made it look a very unattractive.
The childrens play area. Not too bad, but many of the children we saw were more content with loitering outside shower blocks and toilets till past midnight making lots of noise and no warden visable to deter them.
I understand the site is now 6 years old as such not a new venture, it needs considerble improvement in terms of drainage and care all round. It has potential to be a top site but at the momment I would not describe it as such. And it is not a site at the momment to visit in poor weather conditions. Granted no one can control the weather but measures have to be carried out to minimise its affects.

We went to North Norfolk so I could show my kids, some of the places I used to go to on holiday as a child visiting Sheringham. What a find Deers Glade is, we loved it and we will definitely camp here again.
Heather and David and the wardens were fantastic, they really look after you. I took my gas cylinder to be exchanged and they told me I still had loads of gas in it, gained bonus points in my book for that. When I did need to change it, because I'm a man of little brain & muscle I couldn't loosen the tap, but David came to the rescue with his grippers. Their knowledge of the region and camping tips was excellent.
We stayed on a deluxe pitch opposite the play area. The facilities were of a high standard. Sorry COYI but I loved the subdued lighting in shower block, I hate showering under flourescent lights, but each to their own. The sausages from the onsite shop were fantastic, and well worth it. There's a Morrisons in Cromer a short drive away, my wife loved it, we don't have any Morrisons where we live. There's lots of fantastic walks around the site. Then for days out you have the fair ground organs of Thursford (a Must see thats not well advertised), The broads, Norwich (for the quiz of the week, why are they closing their fantastic science museum), Cromer (great carnival) and Sheringham for the steam railway & the best fish and chips.

Hmmm. Not sure what to say on this. Nice site, not the greatest. Nice surrounding area and lovely beaches a short drive away if the sun is out. Found the site a bit noisy though and there was a group of happy campers on the sauce with the guitar out until late, late on 2 of the 4 nights.
The showers were enormously powerful, tap controlled (makes a change from the press button types) and temp OK. Off peak. On peak, well, they were not too warm and pressure dropped to a trickle. Loo's were too few by far. 2 facilities blocks, with just two loos in the gents (4 loos in total) and 3 urinals. When you have a site with 125 pitches, you have to assume you'll need more toilets. I never used them once without a wait, or a queue. Also had to queue twice for showers in 4 days as there are not many showers (two in the gents, two in ladies). Not so bad I guess but one time I was 5th in the queue and waited 40 mins (since we needed to get out that day). There is also a family / disabled room which had a shower with seat, loo and washbasin. Used it once and have never sweated so much. Small and very, very hot in there so not worth the hassle unless you have to use it.
Final gripe is the lighting in the facilities. They have recessed spotlights and they must be the lowest wattage bulbs ever invented. I heard half a dozen people complain about them and I also told reception. At night it was marginally better than total darkness but only just. One bloke told me he reckoned the lights were dimmed to stop anybody settling in for a read of the paper on the toilet as there were only two, which made me laugh. And he had a point as you could hardly see a thing in there. Not good!
Good stuff is the small park for kids. Tubes, slide, big sand pit and loads of space to kick about a ball.
Also if you like fishing, nice small lake. Bit dodgy with younger kids though.
And the staff were really helpful. We asked for directions and was given google directions printed out, names, addresses and telephone numbers of places to go and all sorts. They are really helpful.
So if the site could add some showers, loo's and the warden could enforce a bit of quite from 11pm onwards it would be a 'great' site.

Have just returned from a stay at this site, having stayed in Muntjac Meadow. Lovely laid back feel where you can pitch where you like. Staff were incredibly friendly and the enclosed dog walk means dogs can run off lead - ours loved this. Another nice touch is the central camp fire which is lit in the evening (weather permitting). Facilities were the best I have ever seen but the showers when I tried to use them were temperamental - cold or scorching hot (my only critism). Children will love exploring the woods surrounding the camping field.
It's worth mentioning that a house close to the site keeps water birds, and you may hear them both day and night - they woke us once during our three night stay.
The local pubs - which were a short drive away seemed nice enough, and served real ales, always a bonus.
Cromer is a nice little town with a supermarket for all camping needs, and a beach and pier.
Road noise is minimal. However our stay was marred by wasps, there were a lot about, and we woke with them in the tent in the morning, there must have been a nest close by, but this can't be helped. I would definitely return, out of wasp season.

Well people I hate to follow the crowd but this site is excellent, our first visit earlier on in the year was very good also. Home from home in the shower block - even under floor heating! great dog walks in the woods, we found the beach at overstrand brilliant -it says no dogs but we found a quiet section and the kids and dogs played all day.
The staff are fantastic.
Our only gripe was the pitch needed a rest as where the previous people had left the ground was still wet and the grass had died off so ground sheet was muddy .
All in all a great family site whatever you are camping in dog friendly too, and what's more great value for money.
Other campsites could learn a thing or two from david and heather!
